Some of you guys might remember that i create a thread called how you fight tlm as other class.
me even i'm a cyber hunter high dex is really boring to beat str bm. for some reason there str is kinda strong, dont know how but yeah . i think its how they hit with low dex or deadly aim + blood lust.
so how do you beat blood mage as other class. because im thinking i cant beat them ;)

Ya, I rarely beat BM's either, they always have high strength, max Fire Bolt, max Bludgeon, and like 5-Max Deadly Aim. Unless their Bludgeon gets blocked and/or their sidearm gets deflected. I don't see how to beat them.

(CH) 2-5 Def. Matrix, Heal-Loop, EMP. Yeti special an option.

(BM) 6+ Reflex Boost, Max BL, lotta HP, maybe an Overload tossed in, Deadly Aim.

 I go first and drain then pray I can out damage them because I have more health then most BM's

I simply beat them at their own game. I have 43 total defense and 42 total resistance. I also have 17-21+34 Primary and Gun damage. I just malf, static, and strike. I take less damage than them and I do more. The only problem are the ones who block or get a critical.

Well, Bio Borg works, UNLESS the Blood Mage selects the widely known Heart Attack every time their victim goes defensive.

Reflex Boost is the best counter, then Defense Matrix, then EMP, then Surgical Strike, then Intimidate.

Great skills they are. I am just disappointed when Azrael or Assault not only nullifies the skills but may do so multiple times in 1 battle.

As Cyber, I would use EMP and DEF MATRIX. It is what I currently use.

As Bounty, use medium support, high dex, high reflex boost, medium strength, etc etc.

Tech Mage, use high support, medium malf, medium def matrix, super charge

TLM, use heal loop, high strength, medium Atom Smasher

Merc, tank to extremes with medium strength and high atom smasher

If I go first, I usually use defense matrix. This cuts down the damage they can deal with bludgeon and fireball. However, since they usually have energy staffs, this is of limited use.
After the matrix, I malf, static charge, and field medic. However, this strategy rarely works. Usually blood mages win, thanks to their huge host of abilities that improve with strength.

So... what if the BM didn't have a strength build? I rarely use both strength and tech builds on my BM, preferring to go with Support, 5 Focus, or High Health.

I rarely defeat the ones with extreme str like 26-32 +34 dmg...

Usually, I would...
bazooka
shield
yeti special
heal/malf
malf/heal
static charge
lalalalala...etc.

Support builds are challenging I will admit, but since it requires a lot of EP, I would put on my handy dandy 5 focus tech cyber build and just emp/heal loop.

High Health is a slight issue, but again I will loop heal and EMP.


5 focus are very deadly on Tech. It gives decent everything, so I would have to be on my toes, especially with the bloodlust issue of BM.

I kill them them quite easilly. I have a tank/gamma bot Merc built with a level 2 intimidate.

Intimidation is the key here

seems no matter how I try to outsmart them, they just do the same moves and win anyway, can only beat them with luck.
even my old Super Charge build is rendered useless now that BMs fight smarter [Berzerker made them really stupid]

and I don't count Cyber Hunter cause they have skills to beat every class/build in the game.

[I was talking solely about those max Fireball builds, that also use Deadly Aim and level 5-6 Bludgeon]

I've never had a problem against them. As a TM, I heal looped. As a CH/BH, I just emp. Sure they have lots of strength, but their dex is usually low, so they can't always hit.

 If it's a full varium 34 BM....
well if I go first, I Def Matrix then malf and nuke as hard as I can. About 50/50 of winning if I go first.
If they go first, I'm doomed unless I get lucky blocks.

You guys haven't met my high dex (for a BM) build that has almost no reliance on energy. As a BM, I can usually expect on getting EMPed, so I've adapted. On the off chance that I don't get EMPed, I might use the Reflex Boost to increase my dexterity, maybe Overload...
I'm thinking of creative builds...

Just to FYI, today, I was able to beat a level 34 varium strength BM with my level 29 non-varium BH... He had around 27 min def (in both categories) and around 23 min damage (without weapon damage - bionic battle gear).

Pivotal Disorder - I had max shadow arts :/ That's a 45% block chance against them, which is almost 50/50. Having decent defense values helps too. I have 62 tech, which does -25 energy each time I emp. So I just emp once, malf, static, and then attack the weakest stat, healing the instant I can use the maximum effects of field medic. I then static, and then repeat. If I need to, I booster, especially if he's close to rage (intuitive sense).

The lowered max block rate did not help the current situation with strength blood mages. Seems they are the new luck class though with extremely fast wins and mass losses. Sure wish they would do something about strength in general and agility to end these extremely fast matches and allow the players to utilize a little more skill in a match.

A little less damage and a little more hp would allow the percentages given in a match to even out and give the player with that dex build that crucial block he/she needs or that tech build the deflect they need instead of this luck madness ending matches in 3-4 hits with low heals because they decided to not allow it to increase with a stat.

On topic. How do you beat a blood mage? The only way to beat a blood mage is to be a blood mage. Other classes can be silence and die

 Funnily enough, I've found out that the best way to defeat a Str BM with TM is to fight fire with fire. I've noticed that Defence Matrix does not work against them. In my frustration, I tried to be as brainless as them. I used Plasma Bolt, healed, used Auxiliary and used Super Charge. Then I finish them with rage Plasma Bolt. This strategy is suprisingly effective against them. Then again, it's the 'OP' Tech Mage caster build.
