Maybe but only allow non-upgraded characters to be deleted.

Non-Upgraded characters? Are the upgraded characters mods?

this is not a good suggestion, because if a hacker gets into your account, they could delete EVERYTHING.
and deleting only non-upgraded characters is still not a good idea. have you ever heard of JaritheMighty,
or New Hope? there are a lot of non-upgraded characters/ players who are very good.

Not supported.

How about this instead, you can delete characters, but only non-upgraded ones up to level 20.

How about this, don't make a ton of accounts and if you decide to, then just plainly make a new Master Account. Simple as that, no deleting due to hacking issues. Dumb idea /end

I spoke about it myself with Ashari, Practel and Lycus on IRC, few weeks back.
It's not feasible at the moment since scams do happen now and people would lose on it. reaper666 covered it quite nicely, although his suggestion also won't work since not everyone might be high Level but play for fun so it'd be a bummer to see Lvl 19 char gone, no? :P

We have to wait and see, although wouldn't mind such a function myself but since it's not possible then..

Maybe they could make it so that you can delete all characters except the first one?

Like i said, its a suggestion. Maybe it is a dumb idea. But really what if people want to delete their characters? What about people who used to play but now dont, Wanting to delete their previous characters?

Due to hacking...

It is possible that a hacker may hack your acc and delete your characters.. But for that we have tonns of help provided by the AE community.

Surprisingly enough, I used the same arguments when I spoke with them. But I got what I've got, which you can see in above post and reaper's, pretty much same arguments.. :/

I would gladly delete my BH who's Lvl 17 and wanted, before, to get rid of my Lvl 28 CH (it was a BH a while back) and tried HelpTeam but no luck.. You could delete characters before, they took the feature away but I don't see a reason why we can't do it through HelpTeam (scammers can get your email, blablabla..), but they can check IP simply just like they do when account is hacked. -.-

Ok, What about contacting the AE team to delete your characters for you, Since there is no feature for it.

Yeah I did it, it's fine in AQ even if you're Lvl 100 (past 50, you cannot delete) since they restart your char to Lvl 1 so you can delete it. I was surprised ED doesn't do it.. :S

I know because in AQ normally you wouldn't be able to delete characters over lv 20, You are not able to delete guardian characters aswell. But if you contact the AE they may help or may not. That decision is up to them.

This is a good suggestion, and one that's came up quite a bit, it is also one we do want to implement. However, as raised multiple times already, there's a lot of issues with scammers, who may delete these accounts, or something like that.

There are multiple ways we could combat this, such as making upgraded (Varium) players 'undeletable', but that still leaves those who are Non-Varium vulnerable. One idea that could possibly work is sending an email confirmation, but some people have emails with the same passwords... There's downsides to almost all the ideas raised. Please feel free to try come up with some ideas of how this could work! :)

How about unique code that's assigned to your IP? So you'd get it sent somehow to you or displayed in game, don't know how exactly - perhaps fill out a form on ED homepage/BattleOn Portal - and this code would be needed to delete characters from that IP? So if I went to my friend and wanted to delete it there, it would not work so you'd have to "submit" your new IP* and use the code to confirm it + once you set new IP (so you have 2 now), you get new code that's generated automatically so they cannot re-use your old one to scam you unless they get their hands on your code.

There's one flaw to it, once they get your code, this poses the problem of changing IP and losing the code but way around it is using Payment #ID whenever you want to change your IP. This type of stuff, Payment #ID, is a legal document which is sent over the email but it's wise to keep it printed or backed up somewhere since it's like any other receipt. Or just use security questions to prove it - if you answer wrong then bummer. And make security questions not possible to change unless you answer them correctly then change it.**

* This can be a form on BattleOn Portal which would be sent to AE HelpTeam.
** There'd be a way to reset security questions but obviously not as easy as getting your hand on someone's email. What could it be, I don't know. Perhaps calling the HelpTeam (it's possible already) and trying to confirm details used for any type of payment made on BattleOn account? If not calling, sending details by email should do but it'd be pretty much sending details from your Card you've used (or something) which only you have thus most secure.

I would also like to say something that might be a lil bit important, example if someone got hacked the hacker might be able to delete his Characters. so i would like to say if this can thingy can be more secured.

@Trans: That's incredibly clever, however, in a way, a bit too clever. Quite a few of our players are young, they don't understand what an IP is, therefore, they wouldn't understand a word of what it says. If you had a rotating IP, or something of the sort, like myself, then it would be an absolute nightmare to have to keep doing it. Not only this, but if you got a new network provider, and hence, a change in IP; what if you had lost your previous code? Now you've got a new IP, you wouldn't be able to gain it back at all.

The idea on a whole sounds good, and don't get me wrong, it is a very good idea. Player just don't want the hassle, we want to make it simple, but secure. This is very secure, slightly too secure in fact, since it may cause issues with rotating IPs and new IPs, but it's not simple, it's form filling, remembering codes and understanding IPs. It may not sound like a lot, but that would cause quite a few players to turn away, due to unnecessary hassle. :)

I support reaper666 suggestion. Very good non-varium players. And it'd be good if you can delete an account within 14 days of creation.

Well yeah, it'd be quite a hassle at cost of highest security but if we look at target group of it, it'd apply for these older players which isn't good.

Another way is take out the IP bit and if you want to delete character, you must confirm it with the code you get via email/filling out the form BUT it's not sent to your email, it's shown at the time you finish filling out the form so simply they cannot delete your character since it's not anywhere on internet unless you save it on your email.
This is much simpler and every time you want to delete a character, you must request new code which would require following information:
- BattleOn Portal username + password
- Answer to security questions
- Current/sign-up email

Obviously they will not know security questions or rather answers to it since they aren't displayed and resetting questions would require things like Payment #ID (from any transaction in any AE game; ED is linked with BattleOn Portal along with your characters from other games), email, or any other information that's crucial for those who never bought anything at AE (sorta like Automated Recovery System does with F2P players.

Less complex than IP hassle, yet quite secure and impossible to get code unless the person saves it on their email and email gets hacked but saving code on PC would be much easier.

I like this idea. Not that I would use it, but what about each master account has to set up a PIN number.

And to do things such as delete a character you need to enter that PIN number.

Great idea, sadly not overly executable however. The main issue is, that up to now, no player has entered a security question, and quite a lot of players use invalid emails. It would be very hard and annoying to some people, if we were to attempt to create a system that requested for each player to make a security question upon login, and for everyone to input a valid email. Without a valid email, they wouldn't be able to get this pin, and if they were able to just change there email to a valid one, any scammer with access to the account would be able to change it also, so it does not help with security really.

They wouldn't have to enter valid email and questions, this would be the case if they wanted to delete characters. If they didn't want to, fine then you stay untouched as you are now.
And details as of how to delete character in ED would be in FAQ explaining you have to set up security question/s and valid email - if not already - to receive your one-time use pin to delete the character and highlight how important for them is remembering security question and answer since resetting it would be a lengthy process so think wisely.
Maybe should've mentioned earlier, touching any information could be also done on security question basis, so answering questions before you want to change your email, questions, delete characters, and so on. It's quite complex when you want to change information but it's also secure, we're looking at kids usually aged 12-13+ since AE Games are aimed at that target group so we cannot just 'dummify' the system as much that 5 year old would understand since we'd pay for that with poor security.

(kinda hard to speak from member's perspective since I have no idea how it works now so just assuming really)
