- who is eligible for name changes? Anyone can ask for a name change. However, we do require that you have a recent history (usually 3 months) free of bans and sever warnings before we'll actually change the name for you. So if you just got back from a ban yesterday and ask for a name change, I'll respond by telling you that you need to wait three months. - is the 1-limit for everyone or only normal players? It's a limit for normal forum members, for several reasons. First of all is to keep a certain amount of consistency: if there was no limit, there are people who would be asking me to change their name every other week. It also makes it easier to keep track of people if we don't have to constantly worry about who you were yesterday and who you might be a week from now. Having a limit also makes sure that people who request name changes put thought into their names, and aren't just making frivolous requests because they can. The limit doesn't apply to forum or game staff per se, mainly because by the time you reach the level where you'd be staff I'm not concerned about those reasons. You mention Alina as an example so I'll do the same... if she comes to me tomorrow and asks for her name to be changed I know she's not doing it frivolously and has a good reason to do so, just by the very nature of who she is and what she does for AE. That being said, if one of the moderators was asking for his or her name to be changed once a month, I'd tell them it was time to pick a name and stick with it. - does name capitalization count as name change? The forum is not case sensitive with names: for example, it considers Seahawk, seahawk, SeAhAwK and SEAHAWK to all be the same... the only difference is what is actually displayed when you post. If you ask me to fix the capitalization on your name, I don't count it as a name change because I realize that our forum doesn't have a function to let you change your displayed name like many other forums do (which is what allows you to set your own capitalization). But again, if someone starts writing to me twice a month asking me to fix their capitalization, I will end up telling them to make a choice and stick with it.
