reasons why hardly any tac mercs use this skill the only skill that really benefits from it is double strike which isnt always reliable. your thoughts

Did you say "Hardly" any tactical mercs use this skill? well for a start, your dead wrong, field commander is argueabley the best buff in the game, because as strength is already regarded as OP, adding more strength.....well, go figure. Field commander is without a doubt best for 2v2, as many support builds, and even tank builds rely on this to buff theire partner to make them seem like the threat and not themselves. I myself use this strategy frequently to great effect, winning many battles i am sure i would not have won otherwise.

Oh, and Atom smaser, Frenzy, Double Strike, your partner, and your own base strength benefit from this greatly.

atom smasher doesnt increase with field commander and frenzy i suppose thats counted as a skill improved with it but the heal you get back doesnt change with commander. also from what i have seen a lot of tac mercs actually dont use field commander but thanks for your reply.

The point of a buff is rather to nullify a debuff than just use it for other purposes.

So basically I only see Field Commander useful when you are Intimidated, just like everyone uses Technician after being Malfunctioned.

All other strategies involving Field Commander have always been ineffective in my opinion, because losing a turn for buffing up is too much, especially when you go second.

1. It does improve Atom. It goes by the damage you have on Primary weapon including Strength. Frenzy too since you deal more damage and heal more so it is affected by FC.
2. Only because you don't see TLMs using a skill doesn't mean it's useless.
3. To link with above, many players at lower Level don't use Heal because it's for noobs yet it's not been removed. Why? Because most =/= all.

Personally I think TLM needs field commander. It's pretty much the only way they can get good str with a build and still have it work. When i was a TLM after they got nerfed i used it for a while before switching to BM.
Having it improve with supp also helps promote supp builds that use it.

Field Commander is the Decoy Tactical Grenade of the Call of Duty world. Let it be. You lose a turn not attacking, it has great pros AND great cons.

Let it be. Unless you recommend a Support-buffing skill.

Consider the following:

-field commander turns in to a passive to boost strength(or support if strength boost is too much);
mineral armor becomes energy costing skill

^@trans i am talking about if it were to be replaced by a buff that is much stronger then field commander to compensate for the nerfs they have had and atom smasher improved with with strengh??? i think i must have read it wrong anyways thanks for your opinions

TLMs are excellent for tanking, they can have Support build, Focus, and even Str that works fine if you can balance it out perfectly to work together. And what buff would that be? Tech buff is a no due to Blood Shield, Dex buff is no due to Mineral Armor, so that's Str or Support buff skill. It cannot be debuff either for obvious reasons and if you shove in damaging skill then it'd need either re-balancing the skill tree or nerfing TLMs thanks to removing FC; it's the only stat boosting skill of TLMs, each class has one so y'know.

^ the support build is what i was thinking of would make sense since they have artillery strike which in the tac mercs case rarely gets used.

Well taking FC away is killing Support for them since it allows them to deal high damage, tank, etc. Giving Support buffing skill - first of a kind - wouldn't perhaps work with the fact Support is heavily underpowered (maybe overkill statement but it is weak), so there's not much that can be done really. They are still like Mercs, BC -> FC and same Multis so it makes sense to have FC.

the skills that people don't normally use will be changed with another skills.
So i guess we will have to wait for that.
I'm sure he mentioned that

Yeh the skills we don't normally use will be changed.
I think this will happen in the omega phase.
