I have been multiple classes, and I now know which one I want. I want to switch back, but i don't want to spend Varium/insane amount of credits again to change. EpicDuel implemented a feature similar to the one I am suggesting right now with hairstyles: "You like the one you have now that costs Varium, but also want another one? No big deal, keep both for no Varium" Now, even the hairstyle thing isn't the way I want it, but close enough. The hairstyle thing is just a reference I'm using here, saying "they have done something like this before." I understand that this will have to work differently. Now my suggestion: Say you want to change back to a class you have been before. The class change costs less (by "less" I mean at least half, but the ED team can do whatever they want), because presumably, (if this was real life) you wouldn't have to pay someone to teach you everything you already learned before, you would just need a refresher course that would be a whole lot cheaper. This would make the game a lot more fun, as it is always fun switching classes and trying new strategies; but that switching currently comes with a high price. Alternatively, (though I wouldn't like this idea as much, as I have stated i don't think the current hairstyle system is perfect) you could follow the path of the hairstyle-unlock-system-thingy and when you switch you could pay a bit more to unlock that class forever.

No. Class change costs Varium and high amount of Credits to deter people from switching classes easily, unless they play a lot or pay. Cost is put in place for the very reason. That was said by one of the Devs in the past already too. Be glad there's Credit cost and 900 Varium only instead of 1.5K Varium and no Credit option.

Once the classes are more balanced, I will support most anything related to making class-changing cheaper, because it'll make the game a lot more fun for many players who can't afford the current class-changing costs.

Right now however, I have to say not supported. Balance needs to be fixed first, and class-jumping just because one class got nerfed or buffed should not be encouraged.

i suggest that you read: =ED= Frequently Suggested Ideas *READ BEFORE POSTING* before even suggesting anything to avoid creating unnecessary threads.
it already exists there:

not supported, because i personally spoke to the devs about it and they said that this very idea never crossed their mind, and that it would never happen.

Apparently until "teh codez" have support for an alternate method of spam-prevention which at the moment we only charge credits, this is not easily feasible. As I have suggested numerous times, the database needs support for an inventory for classes but more importantly, to freeze "class jumpers": time restrictions. Time restrictions are like "cooldowns", you can only do something once every certain amount of time. For class changes, it could be 1 week... 1 month... 2 months... etc. Allowing plenty of time for the balance assessment followed by development implementations to neutralize either the balance problem or the players abusing their privilege to change class to discourage that.

@TRizZzCENTRINO
I checked that before I posted, and I swear it wasn't there before.
@Trans
And in every other one of AE's games you can easily switch classes and that's the point of it.
@Depressed Void
So, the high cost is for spam prevention? That's illogical, because a class change request wouldn't spam the database more than a buy item request. And if you'll notice, in my post I also said that trained classes could be bought for just a lower price, around the cost of aforementioned weapon.

Did I mention any talk of the database being spammed? No, if you are informed about balance changes and social trends in EpicDuel, you will know that "class jumpers" like I said take advantage of holes in balance where 1 build at a time is either the fastest or the most successful (kill:death). The developers take 1 week to ∞ to respond to an existing but not always detected balance issue.

If we were to limit players by time but not charge them for a class change purchased/unlocked in varium, or even use time limits on temporary class changes: like I had stated, class changing just for taking advantage of the balance situation.

All the other games have different concept of the class. DF needs one to play, AQ is optimal since there are normal Armors, MQ has Mechs, not sure about HS, AQW is mainly for looks and classes have like 4 skills only, OS has Cards obviously. Waaaaaait. AQW is somewhat PvP, HS is PvP but not sure about Classes there, OS is card-based PvP and others are single-player games. You cannot compare that..

But, if a bunch of people are switching to one class, the ED team will realize that there must be some part of that class that is OP and must be fixed, thus increasing their response time. Not everyone changes classes for that, but there could still be a price/time limit which would keep that down.

DF has 20 classes that you switch between at will, as does AQ and AQW. HS/MQ have custom, completely unbalanced classes, and they all feature PvP.

@above but they do not count losses or wins do they? they are completely different from ED, so you can't compare other AE games to it. it is already in the frequently suggested and the devs have declined it, so i guess there is no point to go on and on about it.

DF has 20 Classes, so what? It's a single-player game with worse balance since Engine 9.0.0 update. AQ does NOT rely on Classes, they aren't even essential to get through the game. AQW has imbalance as well. Don't use SINGLE player games to justify your point, since they work on completely DIFFERENT engines.

I won't argue any further. Cost was put in to prevent switching classes easily and that was said by Devs. FSI stands here as well so this will not get changed either, nor it should be suggested.

As this is covered by the Frequently Suggested Ideas this means that it's already been looked at by the Devs so I'm going to lock this up. Please make sure not to post topics that are already covered by the FSI.
