So, I've noticed a lot of people have been leaving during 2v2 matches which just completely ruins the game for the teammate who they abandoned. Most times it's a lower level leaving a higher level player, or vice versa, so there was still little or no chance to begin with. But at least if the actual players is replaced with an AI people can still actually play the game instead of getting teammates who are poor sports, or just have a bad internet connection.

2 vs 2 was never balanced to begin with. Most people run because they feel they are going to lose anyways due to them being with a group of higher levels, and them being the only lower level or the higher level gets a lower level partner feels he is useless and runs anyways.

The battles modes need to balanced before anything else. Also if there was a way for the system to tell a runner from a disconnect I would have them issue a penalty for those runners who do this. However since that is the case it can't happen.

No as for the original suggestion sorry I don't support.

While it would be nice to have this, I can see this function being abused by some players.

Example Say I am about to die, and me and my buddy are on the losing end of the stick. Just before they attack me i could disconnect or run, and an AI would appear taking my place. if the oppoents are on their last legs at the cost of one loss for me I just gave my buddy or partner a good chance of winning the fight.

The same thing could happen with unexpected disconnects since if it happens at the worst time it can cause the winning team to lose due to a fully healthy AI appearing when they are weakened.

By an AI replacing the person leaving, I mean just the character being controlled by an AI. The exact some character with the same stats and same abilities, but controlled by an AI.

@ Wireclub1990

Disconnects and runners happen at all levels not just the higher levels. Also not everyone runs or leaves on purpose as OP said. Some people happen to have bad internet or something beyond their control happens and they end up disconnecting.

But on another note on the subject I had 3 players run because of 1 level disadvantage on their end. which actually surprised me.

Interesting and burning topic *nods*

quote:

Most times it's a lower level leaving a higher level player, or vice versa, so there was still little or no chance to begin with.

First off: i'm lvl 36, but if i left all fights that looked unwinnable, i most likely would still be lvl 33. Be it win or loss, you get credits and xp (if not at the cap) for every fight.
Second off: i have already won battles that seemed unwinnable. That's totally independant of class = merc is as good as tech mage = is as good as cyber = is as good as blood = is as good... the only classes i can not comment on are Bounty Hunter and Tac Merc as i haven't been those long enough or not at all. However, seeing them in battle, i am "115%" sure they are also "as good as".
Third off: i almost never run (look at first off). At the worst i run 10% of fights, and that's only if i have a phone call or any other such important measure, thus can not concentrate on a losing battle (= partner is already ko while both enemies are still standing).

Yea, i also wished that the AI would take over the leaving player. However, you can not programme the AI to ALL possible builds thus using ALL possible builds in a smart meaning. So my wish actually would be: let a random "already programmed" AI join. Else you would still have a suboptimal encounter.

The problem here is, though and as already has been pointed out: this could be abusable. Also, maybe more importantly, having the AI "join" doesn't create an equal fight, "no matter what".
Investing so much work into something that most likely would not create enough solution to approve worthwhile only distracts the Dev's manpower from more important projects.

TL:DR
Not supported.
