Warmaster's Burst vs Destruction Burst

 So upon comparing these two spells it looks like Destruction burst has compression while Warmaster's Burst has a lower HP cost and a wider random damage range. Are those the main things to consider when choosing one over the other? (assuming you want a MP cost spell)

 As far as a comparison goes range doesn't matter, it's a mathematical moot point as it all evens out. In application sure you might get some bad results on a wide range but that's up to you and your intended application.

Other than that yes:

BD: Compression

WB: slightly loser HP cost

This all is because of the MC.

DB's is the compression. So it's paying for the full cost of the extra dmg thus the higher HP cost.
WB's while the same 50% boost is 45% boost thus a lower HP cost and the MC adding another free 5% to reach the same total.
