 Quest's excellent, I'll refrain from spoiling it other than suggesting that people not rely on nuking the boss. For the rewards- some quick calcs I did on Discord suggest that the base damage is slightly lower than casting D-Burst twice, but the new spell being overcharged means it receives a multiplicative boost, which means it gets more of an increase from various spell boosters. Pyro robes, Poelalas, and various booster miscs like BC/Grakma/PCO should tip the scales in the new spell's favor.

Assuming using the say boosters how does the new spell compare to casting bloodmage spell twice?

Loved the Nightmare King's dialogue. Will paraphrase when DMing someday.

Is it wrong to find the Chosen's nightmare to be kind of cool? I mean, I understand why it's terrifying, but...

has anyone beat the quest so i can get an idea on what is gonna be in the shop at the end of the quest

So how does the MP/SP healing compare to other options? Fairy Godmother and Nightmaregon are the only ones that come to mind.

+1. The writing is amazing - both the ending and all the foreshadowing. Extra kudos to Cray for delving into ancient Devourer Saga lore.

The only way the quest could be better was if we could visit more than just Twilly and Yulgar in Battlesend.


P.S. As a long time fan of the Worm web novel, I'm absolutely getting that title for my main character.

 While I am familiar with Fallen London (and have definitely been increasing some Nightmares qualities of late), this arc would more accurately be referencing the same hymn and similarly taking a twist on it rather than referencing Fallen London itself.

@Primate Murder; Calling the Devourer Lore ancient when I still remember how it absolutely blew my mind watching the funny flash RPG game go from punny parodies with cliche stories to forming its own lore and cosmology... Ouch.

Did anyone catch what

did Twilly say right before he transforms? I'm not sure I accidentally double-clicked or it's meant to suddenly cut off but I did see his dialouge changed.



EDIT: Currently gong through the quest, is the reason why

'Warlic' doesn't have his correct nametag is because of the fact that he actually helps you from all the others who had their own correct nametag in the dream town? I don't remember his name tag being his title in other places.

As a heads up, while it is pretty powerful the quest's spell reward has what is essentially a *2.8 casting cost, so it will basically use up all your SP because you have to cast it with the *1.4 cost twice. Good thing there's been lots of SP healing items lately. ^_^;
