I apologize if this has been discussed before. It's difficult to go through years of threads. But wouldn't it be a great idea if people could play AQ on their phones and ipads and android tablets, or even chromebooks (they run android apps) especially without the Linux workarounds? (That's how I play)

Again,if this has been brought up before I apologize.

Can’t really be done because there isn’t a good way to port those flash assets to IOS and Android. In particular IOS explicitly does not support native flash apps on its devices. The current puffin method works because it streams a browser that has flash support to your device. Aq still runs flash and the current launcher runs Electron.js with a flash plugin under the hood. Though if your device has an operating system that supports executable app images and .dmg files you should be able to use the launcher and play on your device like that.

Try that and see if that works on your device

I use the launcher via the Linux version. There was some other things I had to figure out to get it to run, and I'm not a linux expert by any means, but searching online and many trial and error I got it finally.

I also use Puffin Pro Browser, which actually could potentially be outstanding if it werent for some nuisances. The game runs FAST on the browser. Full graphics with max FPS.
But it crashes with multi-touch usage on a mousepad, it doesnt save login info, and since its entire premise is cloud based, everytime it needs to refresh it will relaunch the webpage, causing you to have to re-log back in. Those that like to just minimize overnight and such it will reset when you try to start the next day. There are some other minor things but doable. But for a quick and basic gameplay session, or if your device struggles on FPS its worth the price on android to pay for the Pro version just to get the framerate flying crazy fast.

Anyway, thanks for the answer.

There has been discussion about AQW being mobile so maybe AQ may be mobile in the future. I think they are trying to switch to whatever support software AQ3D is on so it can be played on mobile. (Omni something?)

What is the Linux workaround? If you could link me to whatever worked for you I'd appreciate it, I've been looking for a while now on how to play epicduel via the launcher

@JackMilak1: The link I provided as the second post has an official launcher for linux. It should work as long as you have a working Linux Desktop that can run AppImages.

It's much, much more difficult to get the linux version working on a chromebook, but it's doable. Linux will run very very slow on a chromebook if it's a basic one, and even my Pixelbook sometimes hiccups. And battery life goes from 8-12 hours on it to 3-4 running the linux artix launcher. Linux is just way more resource hungry. For those that are looking at maybe using or buying a chromebook and want to play the game on there, you need to either use puffin pro browser via the android side but has issues, or get a chromebook with "tiger lake" processors as the new intel processor was built with chromebook in mind, and has given them a massive massive massive bump in power capability. They allow linux apps to run buttery smooth. This is based on reviews, not personal experience. I will report back once I get one. Should be before the end of the year.

As said before, the linux file is an AppImage, most linux distros just run them naturally without any workaround. At most you would have to make sure the file is treated as an executable file. I just downloaded the file and double clicked it and a popup came up asking if I wanted to run it as an executable. Depending on what distro you're using, you could also use the AppImageLauncher program (if available) to make the system treat the game AppImage as a regular program, available in the launcher etc.

Just picked up the new Acer Spin 713 with the new Evo 11th gen I5 and the upgraded graphics. It's on sale at bestbuy down from $699 to like (i cant remember exactly) maybe $519?

With ChromeOS, the AppImage artix launcher file isnt executable just because you download it and move it to your linux files. Theres a couple of commands you must run in the Terminal App to make it run. And I would also add a file app, such as Nautilus, to make it more "windows-like"

But the upgrade in performance over my Pixelbook, which STILL is one of the fastest chromebooks around even 3-4 years later, is massive. massive, massive, massive.

I was playing AQ on the Pixelbook on low graphics and might get 8-9 FPS average, maybe 11-12 on a good day. High graphics dropped FPS to maybe like 4-5, and those items that cause flash lag even worse.

This thing runs the launcher on High, and I'm 12-16 FPS, and medium is gauranteed full speed.

I only bring this up for those who might be interested in a chromebook and wonder how to play AQ. This model is what I'd recommend. For comparison, an Asus with similar specs is over $1000.
