WHAT! why are there armors that look like the Protector armours from the devourer saga in the West? They even mention the protectors. If the protector armour is coming out this week i'll be so happy

 This does look interesting but how will this affect the rewards from the normal devourer saga quest? At some point that quest will get updated too and the protector set will be looked at, unless they plan to change how that reward works or change what it rewards altogether

Also it will be interesting to see if there will be a protector set revamp what kind of flavor it will be. The old set was quite versatile so I do not think I will be surprised whatever direction the staff will be taking.

 So I just replayed the original Protector quest in the Devourer Saga, and there's an interesting tidbit at the end that I just noted:

Protean: Thank you, <Your name>! We shall remain on Lore and help you battle the Proteans and other creatures of the Network!


I think it might be safe to assume this quest happened after that original quest chronologically. I'm wondering if these Proteans are these same guys who have since found something else to do after the'Galin left Lore and the threat of The Network ended. I can only imagine they did so after finding out their purpose was served and they either had a choice to return home to planet Protus or find something else to do. Perhaps this quest might even give us a little bit of lore on the Proteans and their home planet too?

Hm.

Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely excited for this, but I honestly don't think this is going to be a Protector Set revamp. At least, not yet. Due to the sheer complexity involved in creating them, full Mastercraft sets these days tend to be either expensive token packages released during summer or holiday seasons, or quests that get a significant amount of buildup beforehand.

I suspect that this questline is going to be setup for future events involving the Protectors, most likely leading into the actual Protector Set revamp when the Devourer Saga update finally gets there.

Of course, I'd also be very happy if I was proven wrong here.

 Yes this is the set revamp! We specifically focused on getting these popular items some much needed attention since updating their part of the Devourer Saga is so far down the road.

There will be 4 sets total: Silver will have Earth and Water variants, and golden will have Energy and Light.

 Wow that is big news! Yet that still raises questions if this is the protector set revamp what will the reward be from that old quest once that is gotten to?

Ps: still holding out for Solaris and Nova Knights when we finally get to those too.

 So I have good news and bad news, good news is that the Mother's Day items, including a new Anemo Godmother, are now in the LTS! Also good news is that the set has some neat animations for various stuff, and I really like the effects we've got for it. Bad news is I'm still working on finishing up the armour/weapon, the armour specifically has lots of animation bits where it shapeshifts for various bits, so I'm having to get those set up properly. So the quest and update to the Protector set will be coming out on Saturday! Thanks so much for your patience, I'm looking forward to everyone's reactions to the updated set!
