It would be great if we could use in battles all the 8 elements of the Arcane Cutlass weapons.

We already have the Arctic Athame as an Ice version similar to Arcane Cutlass.

A discussion about the "Ice/Earth" version(s) of the prior Arcane Cutlass weapons.

Could we discuss about it until the next "Talk Like A Pirate Day Event"?

To be fair, we can create other threads to discuss about other weapons for Warriors/Rangers.

1). Would it be possible to make an exception as a new (additional) Package item
that can swap between Ice and Earth in excange for some SP Cost?

2). Or, would it be possible to make an exception as a new (additional) GGB item
that can swap between Ice and Earth in excange for some SP Cost?

1). Fire: Arcane Cutlass of Combustion

2). Water: Arcane Cutlass of Tides

3). Wind: Arcane Cutlass of Gales

4). Ice: [link=URL]Arcane Cutlass of (Ice?)[/link] or Arctic Athame

5). Earth: [link=URL]Arcane Cutlass of (Earth?)[/link] or [link=URL]Arcane Cutlass of (Ice/Earth?)[/link]

6). Energy: Arcane Cutlass of Storms

7). Light: Arcane Cutlass of Radiance

8). Darkness: Arcane Cutlass of Abyss

I'm sure the staff will get around to it eventually. These reskins are nice and easy (I think at least) fillers for GGBs.

Considering we are forced into having a no drop, we wouldnt be able to carry a cutlass of every element. And considering the armor element and weapon element are forcing us to be the same, it also makes things less palatable.

The arctic athame is sufficient enough for ice, so there's no need for an ice cutlass really.

And while not everyone has access to PCO, it makes it so as for weapons, you no longer need every element covered. So skipping an element or a few is no longer difficult on the player.

And lastly, those cutlasses take such a hard damage penalty when attacking that they're only worth it to use if you're able to forgo attacks altogether. There is only one armor in the game that can manage this. Necromancer. IMO, the only other way that makes using these exclusively is with huge MP regen options, such as Fae's wanderer pet or even 1-2 rounds of attacking with essence of carnage out...meaning beast mage.. and so that still means some attacking but that's fair.

TBH, this is what I usually do . Whether I'm running a pure mage or a beastmage I usually am just spellcasting and almost entirely forgoing attacks with Necromancer. The MP regen with grasp essence needs bleed or if no bleed, needs some damage boosters which I have invested in (dual necromoglins, darkness cutlass, etc) so it works well. It's my favorite way to play now, especially with Fae's.

I am hoping Archmage can be playable without attacking and just drinking MP potions, so MP healing.

Lastly, I would be more for a generic cutlass. I posted a arcane cutlass of harm idea where attacks do harm, and spell boost is generic (would have to be smaller than elemental ones) There is no spell boost weapons for all spells that's not rare. I'd be happier with that than anything.

They only take a -10% damage penalty and because they're magic weapons this is only a loss of 7.5% melee for weapon damage, something that can easily be mitigated. TLDR: They're far from useless for weapon attacks.

This pet is bugged (healing much much more than its should) and is due for a fix once the devs are able. I wouldn't consider it a reliable source of MP/SP healing.

It's certainly healing on an overkill amount, but panic can, and I believe, will still be able to get low enough to still be able to heal large amounts to be useful still.

Until that happens, only then will we really see in the end. And until that happens, the "yeah but" reply is and always will be null and void.

So hey everyone. Don't use Fae's to reliably heal MP or SP because eventually it will be "fixed" RoLL...

Necromancer can heal itself reliably enough anyways, so in the end Fae's is simply another tool. Not the end all... Nobody is, or would be too invested in Fae's to justify the statement, if one wanted to go down that argument road....

Back to reality..

Yeah -10% damage isnt a whole lot, but I never said they're useless. I said they're not worth using if you're going to be attacking a lot. The assumption is the standard 2 casts 8 attacks. I want to be able to use them if you can find ways to avoid attacking, thus really enhancing they're capability. THIS IS MY OPINION. And you *can*, in Necromancer, especially with PCO. And in this scenario, they're power shines. If you can heal back MP in ways to cast more often than the 2/8 1945 model than they start to really shine.. that's all I'm saying. And with PCO, it's worth it to carry both a cutlass and a weapon that's better for attacks. The game has changed, no? Catching up with the times for some players may be beneficial to their characters I would think. I wouldn't discourage the use of items.

Concise point-> If you're not going to find ways to make your equipment shine, find ways to accentuate their strengths, just like the stats you chose to train, then why bother? Use the tools that are available, and if those tools change, then change with it.

I'm not too fond of the compression cutlass idea. Not only would it be OP but it would also "ruin" the theme.

Maybe they could just make a separate item series for compression spell boosters (with SP costs maybe?). They could make them all package items to cater to the p2w players (leave cutlasses for the "f2p", so they could still cover a niche and not get power-crept too much). Plus, they could make different compression combinations (so not limited to 4 items)

Oh, I could care less if the spell boosting weapon was an arcane cutlass, or they brought back the adventurer figure, or made something new. I just think a spell boosting item that's not rare should exist. Obviously, it wouldn't be the same power for boosting spells, since it's all spells. But I think the fact that we really only had sila's staff years ago, and then the figure and nothing else ever is quite sad.

This item is bugged, it should only be providing a spell boost to Energy. Otherwise the boost would be +5.625%.
