ok i,ve been seeing alot of people saying that they dont like the name change and IMO i dont either i mean you're changing your name it's not changing, helping, or hurting you in any way so why does it cost varium i think it should cost about 3000 maybe i for one am not very fond of my own name and want to change it but dont have varium to, so what do you guys/girls think about this matter

Look if you want to know the real reason? it's quite simple.

everyone would take as much names as they could right? (don't say no, it's a rhetorical question)

well when a new player comes it would take him like 1 hour to make a name and it would have to be something totally unoriginal like xxdarkxx434342434.

I like name change... I've reserved 4 names for myself and I'm happy no one can take them.

that's why they need to have restrictions like they cn only do it maybe 2 or 3 times amaybe after that start charging varium

Reserved names is every name that has ever been chosen becomes only usable by that player..

E.g

If i started this game called Dave2 and then changed to Dave3 but then again changed to Dave4

Dave2 and Dave3 would still only remain usable to me if i wished to change back, but everyone else who would try that name or who would like that name wouldnt be able to use it.. Forever

I do agree with Reserving so many names for 1 person is not the best of ideas, which is why we see some very weird names around

I think it should be Limited to 2 reserves for each person and once you go over that it starts un-reserving your erliest ones

How about they produce a Varium option AND a credit option?

  • Varuim - 1k 500 Varium, grants achievement (1k would be seen as too much)
  • Credits - 10k 15k Credits, DOES NOT give achievement (I guess 10k would be too easy Ashari, but some people don't have the patience to save up that much money)

Then, you have a list of up to 3 other names that you have used previously, which is displayed in the "Change Name" Interface.
This is your reserved list. When you change your name, if the list is full, you have the option to un-reserve one of your old names or simply not add the name you are giving up now to the list.
It will send you straight to the list before asking, so you do not click the No button by accident.
Then add an extra Confirmation screen with a message like "WARNING! The name *name you are dropping from the list* will no longer be reserved and you may not be able to use it if it is reserved by another player. Are you sure you would like to continue and use your *insert payment option* to change your name?"

So, what do you think?

The only thing i think should be changed about Name change is the fact that you cant just change a letter to a Capital letter. Although I had talked to nightwraith about this and he said it was a good idea and possibly be added in future. That could mean a few months or it could mean a year.

 Name change is an entirely complementary service, so it costing Varium is appropriate. It's not something crucial to gameplay, it's just a bonus.

On top of that, you are changing an integral part of your character so it shouldn't be something that can be done on the fly for a few credits. Plus it's confusing enough already when a few people change their names. If it only cost 10k credits I don't think I would be able to recognize anybody in-game anymore.

@voidance: That sounds like a good change. I'm guessing that was just an unforeseen technical limitation.

Does it cost varium again to change ur name back to ur reserved name. If so it should be implemented that u don't have to pay varium to change to a reserved name?

I think it is expensive. But, if they changed it so you could change back to a name you paid for for free at any time I would agree with it.

I agee changing your name isnt all that special no need for it to cost varium. It should only cost like 2 or 5k credits. I mean to make it cost varium and credits to change your simple name? Really? Its not reasonable.
