Recently, I just haven't been able to draw anything. I'm guessing that everyone has these sort of uncreative periods.
What do you usually do to get over it and make something?

So, yeah, discuss...couldn't think of more to say. Not all that eloquent today...

I'm currently going through this period as well. Recently, the manner that I have been practicing my drawing was through a book I bought that gives good lessons.
Anyway, I'm trying to get ideas by looking back in time during my childhood, and I think that the kind of art that might be my inspiration is art of the old west. Again, it's just a theory.

I've been thinking I just need to draw something different maybe. It's been sort of the same thing the past few months. I think moreso, I'm having trouble drawing original things, I did a lazy copy of a Yugioh card lying around which didn't turn out too bad...

I'll need to think about, but changing to shake things up could be a solution.

I hear ya. During my past three semesters in art, I haven't turned in much work because I just couldn't think of anything creative, and still life was getting a bit "stale" for me. I tried to draw fractals, but after I did I saw why they're better-off as digital art. =P

You could try to think outisde the box, and think of all your different likes and dislikes, and try to merge some of them together.

Adorable!

I have this so called "Artistic Block" all the time! To get over it, I don't try to think harder on an idea, but I just let ideas come while I'm drawing. If I feel like drawing a sword, for an example, I'm starting by making a rough sketch of very abstract lines, until I get an idea for a part of the sword, like the blade. After I design what I have in my mind, I keep making more parts as I get ideas for them.

In my opinion, to get out of a block you need to do something different from what you usually do, and not bothering yourself all the time with "what should I draw?! I got nothing!". Let your mind rest until you get an idea. But still, try to think from time to time about something.

Oh, last thing, I found out that in school you can get some great ideas while doodling in class.

It's true. Some of my best ideas have come while I'm busy trying to cover up my doodle in class :D There's something about doodling in class that nets you more creative ideas than when you are at your desk with all your things ready. As for Artist's block, I hate it. Best way to get over it, IMO, is just get a piece of paper, and pen (or pencil, but I like to use biros) and just draw, don't put any thought into it. For me though, that's how I do any drawing since whenever I put too much thought into something, my drawings come out pretty bad :/

I just randomly start drawing stuff, and if I get an idea, I make a weapon out of it. But as of recently, I haven't had much inspiration aside from what I posted earlier in the Artists Unite thread. I usually doodle until I get an inspiration to make something cool.

I will generally just draw people, generally my OCs or someone from an anime from the fandom I'm in
I'll generally just start with a boring pose and just work my way out of the block
I really hate art block though xD When I have it I just can't draw right!

I haven't run into "Artist's Block" when doing stuff in 3d yet, but I generally turn to music (particularly video game music) for inspiration or ideas. When I'm making fractals in Apo...I just stop and do something else; sometimes it's a matter of getting lucky as well, just playing around with things and seeing how it turns out.
