I don't know if this is the right section but...

What kind of content/information would be put in spoiler boxes?

Also, if a person starts a thread that is liable to have a lot of specific in-game content discussion should he/she put [likely to contain spoilers] in the title?

Generally speaking if it is a big release you are asked to use spoilers, for most content, for the first 24 hours. After that use the mainly if the information would reveal something important to the story until it is reasonably expect-able that most people will have finished the release.

You do not have to use a title including that, but it is polite to warn people about spoilers.
