Hey everyone. It's been a couple of months since I was on the forums, but I'm back.

I use this build- https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BD40uQiCUAEBCq5.jpg:large

You might notice that it's not entirely focused on support or massacre/strength. Level 5 Focus holds back any big auxiliary damage potential this build could have had. I call these builds- with more than one important aspect to it- hybrid builds. (In this case, the aspects of support, a Level 1 Massacre, and Level 5 Focus are what makes up the "hybrid" part.) I usually only use the support part of my build in battle. If I have extra energy left, I use massacre. If I don't, I can wait until I can use my Infernal Android. What I'm trying to say here is that this type of build makes battle more fun for me.

An example of a hybrid build on a Mercenary would be a high level Bunker Buster and Field Commander. The Bunker Buster is (usually) used first, followed by Blood Commander. Or it could be the other way around, Blood Commander followed by a Bunker Buster (hopefully on Rage).
On my Blood Mage, I once used a Support build, except that I also had a high level Reflex Boost and Overload, alongside a tiny extra bit of Strength. I would start with my auxiliary, and then use Reflex Boost, and then Overload. If the overload was successful, I usually used bludgeon. Then, I would use my auxiliary again. If something went wrong, I usually had something else that could be used as a backup.

When you guys design your own builds, do you ever make hybrid builds?

All my builds are hybrid.
If a build can tank a lot and dish out major DPT all in one isn't called a hybrid build, I dont know what is.

Well, I've created lots of builds, but haven't been there to test them all since Omega came out. Here's a list of them from gamma/delta:

Merc:
-High energy supporting class with a tendency to use atom smashers, low level mauls, intimidates, and heals in 2v2. Great annoyance to the players while enabling my ally to kill them with ease
-Support Tech, I maxed out surgical strike and artillery strike, and used 150-170 energy. You could get lucky crits here and there and deal good damage with fast rage, while pretty much preventing your opponent from raging by not being especially tanky and by using surgical strike.
-(Omega) Supertank focus infernal android high blood commander, this build pretty much heal looped and used blood commander to deal constantly increased damage while utilizing blood commander's lifesteal to heal an extra 3-ish damage per attack. Infernal android became unstoppable after turn 9, and I used that to finish the fights (or level 5 bunker).

TM:
-High assim dex caster build, I used assimilation as my primary energy source rather than my level 4 reroute and low HP, and did massive damage with overload and plasma rain to the opponents

BH:
-High tech poison massacre build, I had around 130 energy and used my high technology and moderate support to buff, emp, and smoke in 2v2. Max poison and Max massacre were great supporting moves which helped kill in many cases, while blood lust and my slight tankiness, along with heals from my ally kept me alive.

TLM:
-(Omega) Before the tech nerf. Heal-looping TLM with infernal android. I used level 3 heal, level 8 frenzy, and level 1 surgical strike. This build was unstoppable in juggernaut as I had 4 ways of healing through 42 HP heal, around a 10-15 amount on frenzy, 25 from generator, and around 10 from surgical strike. The high base HP and the fact that I only used energy for atom smasher (aside from healing) enabled me to use healing moves pretty much 9/10 turns of the fights.

CH:
-Support Focus.
-High HP tanky poison mass build. With this I was able to poison and use massacre with decent support and malfunction in 2v2, enabling me to deal heavy damage with around 140 energy while my ally did more constant damage amounts.

Hmm...maybe I'm not defining "Hybrid Build" enough. Well, maybe I could say that in my hybrid builds there's always a skill I might not use in a battle. A perfect example of one would be someone who has invested the same amount of skill points into every skill. They have a lot of skills to attack with in battle, and there's no guarantee that all of them will be used.

^ If that's your definition of hybrid builds, then i think you're having the wrong idea of what a hybrid build is.

Hybrid: Anything derived from heterogeneous sources, or composed of elements of different or incongruous kinds.

In this case, hybrid builds in epicduel means something like a balanced build or a focus build. Take what i said previously in this thread for example. Being able to tank and deal high damage is what an example of hybrid build is. Being tanky is one element, and being able to deal high damage is another. So when you combine these two aspects together in a build, a hybrid build is born. A hybrid build has nothing to do with having extra skills that can be left unused. Rather, it's the stats allocated to the build that makes it a hybrid.

Like AdventureQuest, one of AE's oldest game, a hybrid build would mean allocating equal or similar stats to strength and intellect. The best of both worlds, where the character with a hybrid build can deal both physical and magical damage to the opponent, to either drag the fight out or end it quick. A hybrid build would be something like this to an extent in Epicduel.

So like the build i suggested, being able to tank and high deal damage, i can either choose to end the fight quick or drag the fight by exhausting my opponent's energy, unlike builds like Tlm's tanking builds which cannot end fights quickly or Support TM builds which cannot last long after their combo, both of which only emphasize on just one element.

This would be the correct definition of hybrid builds. So perhaps you meant another type of build besides hybrid builds? Or am I getting something wrong here? Do correct me if I am.

I've tried using a focus build, but with support being the best stat atm, I ended up having to go with a support build. I've had a lot more success with the support build that I'm currently using (90% win ratio for the day, versus 50% with a classic focus build). The merc support builds tend to be problematic for my build.

I wouldn't call support the best stat, I'd call dex the best stat as it scales absurdly quickly with block chance now, and is equal to tech. This is probably why CH focus is amazing in 1v1 with a high win rate as of now.

@Promaster
Well, your definition seems to work with me...maybe I'm defining it the wrong way.

I'd just describe my current build this way: 5 Focus mashed with Support mashed with one element from a Strength build (Massacre).
