    Spell Gift Box, Wind element.

    I through XXX (level 5 thorough 150) as well as X Z, XV Z, XX Z, XXV Z, XXX Z (level 22, 62, 90, 115, 140)

    Description: The wrapping won't last through the years like the celebration does, but for now you can cast this spell to help you keep (ah ah ah ah) stayin' alive!
    (Guardian Only) - add to all versions apart from Z's

    SP spell; two hits of Heal damage, auto-hit, targeting the player.

    Speculation: This Giftbox, unlike all the others, isn't an exact copy of last year's unopened boxen, and neither does it have a giftbox-like animation. Could it be bugged, or even accidentally the opened version of the Giftbox?

    EDIT: Ninja'd. Bound to happen...

    For D.A.N.C.E.R., what is the chance of it attempting the status? It isn't 100%, I don't think, since I don't get a text box every cast telling whether it was successful or not.

    its a save roll , and as it uses monster str so against a monster with 200 str/luck and you with 200 int/luck you have 50% chance.

    DarkDevil, you're misunderstanding my question.

    When the status is attempted and failed, a textbox appears saying "The monster holds onto its armor" or something like that. Likewise, when attempted and successful, there is a textbox that pops up as well. However, about 30-50% of the time, no textbox appears at all to indicate the status was even attempted.

    I know there is a save roll, but it does not seem as though the status is attempted on every cast.

    tried it 10 times in a row and it always apeared , it happens at the end of cast , even when monster blocks one hit , even when the monster is ice .
    it could be a bug , you should report it.

    edit: it only doesn't show up if both hits miss.

    Hmmm....strange. The "bug" (let's call it that for argument's sake) occurs for me even if one hit lands. I wonder if there is a hits connected/hits attempted chance of attempting the infliction or something.

    EDIT: Confirmed! Facing a Vortex Portal as we speak. 1 hit missed, 1 hit landed. Spell did not attempt status. I will await a staff's response to this before reporting it as a bug.

    EDIT 2: Double confirmed. Up against a Might Shadow Roc. Same scenario. 1 miss, 1 hit, no status attempt.

    I'm thinking this is probably intended, but not included in the info sub. We shall see

      Example: Mighty Shadow Roc (power:3.75)

      If one hit connects, then the MRM reduction is sround([hits connected]/sqrt(monster power)) = sround(0.5164). So it has about a 52% chance of -1 MRM. But the other 48% of the time, it's -0 MRM, so nothing* happens.

    *Okay, I just added a new pop-up "Through its sheer power, the monster defies your spell's effect!" for when this happens. Hopefully this will clear things up.
