Resources Now that you've seen who can give you these things, it might be worth detailing what they actually are. It is time for an introduction to the reagents used by Nulgath and the followers of the Nation. There are several, which makes inventory management a bit more of a challenge than just amassing piles of Legion Tokens. quote:
Unidentified 10 (Bag of Dirt) Abbreviated as: Uni 10, Dirt Max stacksize: 400 This used to be a mostly worthless resource that could only be used to track the drop rates of actually useful resources, it has since been used to make the Nulgath Nation House, as well as a piece of the Void Highlord class. The quests mentioned here are also the ones that people use when they want to farm for many Nulgath reagents at once. As such, Drudgen and Larvae are the best free sources of all reagents. quote:
Tainted Gem Abbreviated as: TG Max stacksize: 200 One of the original reagents, these are easy to acquire, although the quantities in which you need them may make you think otherwise. - Cube Reagent
Almost every floating Nulgath-y sword pet can grant this quest. Turn in 25 Cubes, and get a single Tainted Gem. This quest is faster than Bone Dust Reagent because Grizzlespit + Box Guardians are much weaker than Battleunder B monsters, and they can drop Cubes in stacks of 1-3 and 1-5.
- Dreadrock Gem Exchange
Don't feel like beating up hundreds of Sneevils for Tainted Gems? How about beating up hundreds of villains? This quest reward is not guaranteed, although its frequency makes it a rival for Cube Reagent. - Random reward: Tainted Gem x1
quote:
Dark Crystal Shard Abbreviated as: DCS Max stacksize: 250 One of the original reagents, quests that guarantee this drop take longer than getting Tainted Gems. - Essence of Defeat Reagent
Almost every floating Nulgath-y sword pet can grant this quest. Turn in the reagents you've been using to navigate Tercessuinotlim, and receive some Dark Crystal Shards. - Reward: Dark Crystal Shard x1 or x2
quote:
Diamond of Nulgath Abbreviated as: Diamond, DoN Max stacksize: 500 One of the original reagents, these used to be super valuable. You used to need to trade more than a million gold for one! Now, you can see people hauling them home by the wheelbarrow, being used as wallpaper, and sometimes even being burned for kindling. The aftermath of the Dage vs Nulgath war was not kind to the value of Diamonds. - Only the Strong Survive Today
- Crush the Weak
Beat up monsters in /evilwarnul, get Diamonds. You need a Contract to do this, consider getting one from Supplies to Spin the Wheel of Chance or a Nulgath Larvae. Crush the Weak is for Legends, and thus has a larger reward. - Reward: Diamond of Nulgath x2 OR Diamond of Nulgath x3
quote:
Gem of Nulgath Abbreviated as: Gem, GoN Max stacksize: 150 Originally only available randomly from Larvae, these eventually became more common as Bamboozle started providing them, before being easily accessible through Drudgen's new quest. - Voucher Item: Totem of Nulgath
60 Essences nets you a Totem or 10 Gems of Nulgath. You need a Voucher of Nulgath (non-mem) to start this quest, which seems like an even steeper cost than a Contract. However, you don't need to spend it, which means it can be good for as few as 1 Totem or as many as 300 Gems. - Reward: Gem of Nulgath x10
- The Refreshing Deal
- The Poisonous Deal
These two quests eat a bunch of reagents, including 5 Blood Gems, to make 20 Gems. Great if you have a stock, not so much if you don't. - Reward: Gem of Nulgath x20
- Nulgath (Larvae)
Has a fair chance to drop Gems, a decent way to get some while you're also looking for other items. - Random reward: Gem of Nulgath x1
- Forge Gemstones for Nulgath
Surprisingly high drop rate, and gives 3x at once instead of just 1. A bit hard to access, however. - Random reward: Gem of Nulgath x3
quote:
Unidentified 13 (The Contract of Nulgath) Abbreviated as: Contract, Uni 13 Max stacksize: 3 A hard-to-get item that used to be a 1% drop, now they're much more available. Often used to unlock improved reagent quests such as in /evilwarnul or /dreadrock, Juggernaut Items of Nulgath, and many more. Diamond Exchange Trading 3 Diamonds for 1 Contract is the absolute best way, but it requires Legend and 5,000 ACs. - Reward: The Contract of Nulgath x1
- Nulgath (Larvae)
Has a fair chance to drop Contract, a decent way to get some while you're also looking for other items. - Random reward: The Contract of Nulgath x1
quote:
Voucher of Nulgath Abbreviated as: Voucher, VM Max stacksize: 1 Not used as often as the non-mem version below, member vouchers are still an item that can be used in some Legend quests, and has a 250k sellback to boot. Mostly gold fodder for non-Legends. - Nulgath (Larvae)
Has a fair chance to drop Voucher, a decent way to get some while you're also looking for other items. - Random reward: Voucher of Nulgath x1
quote:
Voucher of Nulgath (non-mem) Abbreviated as: VNM Max stacksize: 1 An item that has maintained its rarity, VNMs are believed to be a 1% drop from everything other than Tendurrr the Assistant, and are often consumed in creating advanced items. Unlocks Drudgen's Totem/Gem quest, and the Void Highlord's Challenge. - Tendurrr's Assistance quests
You can force the VNM to drop, but only if you have max stacks of every other item it can drop. This is quite costly, but if you're in a pinch, you're in a pinch. - Random reward: Voucher of Nulgath (non-mem) x1
- Nulgath (Larvae)
Has a chance to drop VNM, a decent way to get some while you're also looking for other items. - Random reward: Voucher of Nulgath (non-mem) x1
quote:
Essence of Nulgath Abbreviated as: Essence Max stacksize: 100 A 10% drop that used to only be 1% of a Totem each, these slowly became their own resource. - Dark Makai (Level 25)
Quite straightforward. If for some reason you don't want to go to /tercessuinotlim, the /nulgath map also has 2x Dark Makai.
quote:
Totem of Nulgath Abbreviated as: Totem Max stacksize: 30 Hard to get on their own, but are now fairly easily made by combining Essences or other things.
- Reward: Totem of Nulgath x1
- The Refreshing Deal
- The Poisonous Deal
These two quests eat a bunch of reagents, including 5 Blood Gems, to make 1 Totem. Great if you have a stock, not so much if you don't. - Reward: Totem of Nulgath x1
quote:
Archfiend's Favor Abbreviated as: Favor Max stacksize: 5,000 Super frequent drop that unfortunately also gets used in high quantities. Quests eat these in quantities of 50, 200, 300, 500, or even 5,000. quote:
Nulgath's Approval Abbreviated as: Approval Max stacksize: 1,000 Another super frequent drop that also unfortunately also gets used in high quantities. Quests eat these in quantities of 50, 300, 500, or even 1,000. quote:
Blood Gem of the Archfiend Abbreviated as: BG Max stacksize: 100 An item that is normally a long grind from a quest that only rewards you with 1. Some pets offer ways to get BGs that don't take 2 hours apiece, which are an obvious advantage. - Tenacity Challenge
Almost free daily Blood Gem. Great for building a stock. - Reward: Blood Gem of the Archfiend x1
- Kiss the Void (Nulgath)
- Kiss the Void (ENNH)
The original way. Very painful, rewards 1 BG every time. Maybe you'll get one of the 8x 1% drops when farming this quest, though. Remember you can buyback Tendurrr, and skip that 1% drop. - Reward: Blood Gem of the Archfiend x1
quote:
Diamond Badge of Nulgath Abbreviated as: DB Max stacksize: 300 Only used in /shadowblast... for now. - Nation Loyalty Rewarded
The only way. Requires a Contract and a Nation Round 4 Medal from the previous quests to get. Used to be a lot better when you got DBs every turn-in, now you only get them a quarter of the time unless you have DCS and Diamonds maxed out. Bring a solo or party class, the bosses can be tough if you aren't fully decked out. - Random reward: Diamond Badge of Nulgath x5
quote:
Emblem of Nulgath Abbreviated as: Emblem Max stacksize: 100 A resource acquired about once per 50 kills. Used to make items in /shadowblast, but also for the Void Highlord's Challenge and the Void Paladin quests. - Nation Recruits: Seal Your Fate
The only way. Requires a Nation Round 4 Medal from the previous quests to get. 25x 100% drop Fiend Seals and the low-drop Gem of Domination. Unlucky heroes might find themselves at 100 Fiend Seals still without a Gem of Domination. Up -> Left -> Up -> Right in /shadowblast leads you to the room that makes Emblems the most efficiently. - Reward: Emblem of Nulgath x1
quote:
Fiend Seal Abbreviated as: FS Max stacksize: 100 Requires a Nation Round 4 Medal from the previous quests to get. A 100% drop from Legion monsters in /shadowblast, used in the creation of Emblems, among other quests. - Legion Airstrike
- Paragon
You really want a strong aoe 3 or 4 class in order to farm Seals and Emblems. Up -> Right -> Up -> Right in /shadowblast leads you to the room that drops Seals the most efficiently.
quote:
Unidentified 34 (Ball of Malignant Essence) Abbreviated as: Uni 34 Max stacksize: 300 A resource used in the creation of the Archfiend DoomLord set, a quest that clogs at least 10 inventory spaces, and will keep hold of them for the entire time period. - Willpower Extraction
The only way. This quest will feed on your despair. Details in the section on the ArchFiend DoomLord items. - Random reward: Unidentified 34 x1 OR Unidentified 34 x2 OR Unidentified 34 x3 OR Unidentified 34 x5
quote:
Void Aura Abbreviated as: VA Max stacksize: 7,500 A resource whose non-Legend method makes a mockery of Blood Gems, Void Aura is used in the (unrelated) creation of the Necrotic Sword of Doom. Every once in a while, small quantities this resource is needed for Nulgath items, notably the Void Avenger Scythe and Void Paladin items. - Retrieve Void Auras
200 kills for 2-10 of the resource? That's crazy! Oh wait, Unidentified 34s... - Random reward: Void Aura x2 OR Void Aura x5 OR Void Aura x10
- Gathering Unstable Essences
201 kills of weaker monsters. A bit better, but still painful. - Random reward: Void Aura x2 OR Void Aura x5 OR Void Aura x10
- Commanding Shadow Essences
Requires SDKA. If you have it, Void Auras are still time-consuming, but at least won't rot your soul. As much. - Random reward: Void Aura x3 OR Void Aura x5 OR Void Aura x10
quote:
Roentgenium of Nulgath Abbreviated as: Roent, Rg Max stacksize: 15 A resource used in the creation of the Void Highlord class, a quest that clogs at least 17 inventory spaces, and will keep hold of them for the entire time period. Details in the section on the Void Highlord items. There are also multiple minor resources that are used in one or two quests or for a single item, which will be explained as necessary.
