I've had my Character forever, and come and go. Been out of the game for awhile now, just logging in here and there. But this Paladin overhaul (with Necro on the horizon!!!) has gotten me so excited, and I'm having a lot of fun. Currently going through Alnapher for the Terror set to use it for the Dragonlorn stuff on Void Dragons.

But, I'm having some issues with the class, too. So, here are my stats.

quote:

Strength: 0
Dexterity: 150
Intellect: 250
Endurance: 0
Charisma: 100
Luck: 140

I know, I'm more of a mage than a warrior, or even a hybrid. But I have a good amount in my Dex I'd say. Nevertheless, when I'm playing and want to have Excelsior Elixir, Clever Disguise, or Paladin's Oath going, I can't have Inspiring Radiance, Searing Radiance, charging my death thing, or Harmonic Might going without being in an SP deficit. Then you have the fact that Quests need SP to defy the bad rolls, and how literally every active skill the Paladin has uses SP, and I just can't even use most of the attacks when I'm playing.

These are the changes I would suggest - any specific numbers given are tablecloth math at best, so take that with what you will. The main point is to discuss the changes to the SP costs and add more MP costs to it. This can be achieved in a few ways. We could have a second Paladin Armor, a la the Golden Dragonslayer Eclipse armor, where maybe another class is needed to have its abilities used, or just make it a more Magically attuned armor where it has more of the MP costs on it. Or, just add/change these in the existing framework.

Resplendent Surge - Make the MP cost 250 and the SP cost 80
Searing Radiance - Make the Light Burn part be MP instead of SP
Defiance - Make an option for MP upkeep, but at a slower recharge rate, like .75 charges per turn.
Lay On Hands - Add a toggle for MP cost when you do the charges
Righteous Surge - Make the Righteous Inspiration cost MP only, and Righteous Retribution cost MP 85 SP 85
Inner Light - come on, it's a spell. Make the first two steps of it MP only, and make the final step have like 300 SP and 200 MP
Inspiring Radiance - PLEASE add an MP upkeep option to this, or just make it MP only.
Sunscale's Legacy - make it like 300 MP and 350 SP.

This would make it where you're still using SP as the main source, and if you turn on multiple stuff and have an item going, you'll still have a deficit of SP, just that it won't be debilitating, so you have room to use a skill or two before burnout.

We are getting advanced variants of the Paladin class this week. There will be 3 different variants. One for mages, one for warriors, and one for hybrids.
I think it makes sense if the mage variant will use MP more than what the standard Holy Armor does.

Oh, snap! Well, that kind of takes care of everything that I was looking for, then, huh? hahaha. That's great! Carry on, then :p
