Introduction to Fancy Tales

There is a world,
Far beyond ours,
Where hopes and dreams reside.

There is a world,
Far beyond ours,
Where everyone values pride.

There is a world,
Far beyond ours,
And everyone speaks in poetry, there.

There is a world,
Far beyond ours,
Where nobody knows despair.

There is a world,
Far beyond ours,
Where nobody ever fails.

There is a world,
Far beyond ours,
It's the wonderful world of Fancy Tales!

Shadow

A shadow... fleeting...
Through the night.
Where’s it going?
Will it stop?
Will it find
Purity?
Salvation?
Chaos?
Lies?
No.
Of all things,
It will find
Light.

Holding Hands

This girl...
I don't know
Where I know her from.
Still,
She seems like family,
But more.

This girl...
She seems to me
Like an angel,
Fallen from the skies.

This girl...
She says she likes me.
But still, I can't figure out
Why.

This girl...
She holds my hand.
Is it right?
Is it wrong?
Who'll tell?
All I know
Is that we're holding hands.
I couldn't ask for more.

I got a few negative comments on this one in the WA, and thus I think a bit of an explanation is needed. This poem was never intended to mock Christianity or any other religion, it just uses a tale from the bible as it's inspiration. I hope you can all read and enjoy this the way it was meant to be, and I sincerely hope nobody feels offended by this.

Jesus's Last Winter Night
-A note before we begin: I'm an Atheist. This poem was written without cooperation of the so-called Bible (XD)-

I am Trapped,
Inside this room.
There's no escape,
From my doom.

As I jump,
Down the shaft,
I can feel,
Just death is left.

All I wish for,
Is to know:
Why you gave me,
The final blow.

I think I know,
But I'm unsure.
Because I know
Your heart is pure.

Now I'm lying,
dead below.
You cover up
Your face in snow.

Even though
You pushed me in,
I'll forgive you
That one sin.

Amen.

Into the Shade

I am a shadow,
Dark like the night,
Unable to ignite,
Yet ready for a fight.

I am a shadow,
I will follow you through all.
Just look around in your hall,
I'm right there, on the wall.

I am a shadow,
The light I fear.
Which is why I keep you near:
Without you, I'd disappear.

I am a shadow,
At the break of dawn.
The light is just barely on,
And yet I am there, never gone.

I am a shadow,
And the day has just begun.
Halfway up, is the sun,
When it goes higher, I am done.

I am a shadow.
Now that sun's above your head,
You look ahead.
But I'm not there; I have fled.

I am a shadow,
My time is up.
The king of darkness raises his cup,
And he won't stop drinking in the pub.

I am a shadow,
Forever gone.
I am all, and yet I'm none.
Will my quest ever be done?

Arthur The Brave One -> RE: Fancy Tales (6/29/2008 6:46:42)

The Wind

I can feel the wind,
Blowing through my hair.
I can't see the wind,
Yet I know it's there.

I can't touch the wind,
Yet it's pushing me away.
I can't break the wind,
Until the end of the day.

When the end of times has come,
It's the end for all.
But when the end of times has come,
Will the wind, too, fall?

The Fire

The fire!
The fire!
It burns the ground,
‘Till nothing but cinders are left.

The fire!
The fire!
It burns us all,
Through clothes, through bones, through theft.

The fire!
The fire!
It burns our hearts,
Which ignite with passion for all.

The fire!
The fire!
It burns our skin,
That hurts, as you should recall.

The Art of Usefull Things That Seem Pointless

Homework.
I think I'm done,
Yet, there is the jerk,
And it won't ever be gone.

Odd jobs at home,
I think I'm finished.
I want to go roam,
But then I see a list, barely diminished.

School.
I fell asleep in class.
Too bad my teacher's no fool,
And the principal no ass.

Yet I know,
That even boring things,
Shall once go,
And leave me with wings.

Those wings,
They'll bring to me,
The wisdom of kings
And the power to be.

Arthur The Brave One -> RE: Fancy Tales (6/29/2008 6:53:52)

Water

Water.
It flows
In rivers,
Through mountains.

Water.
It goes,
It delivers
In fountains.

Aqua.
As she is
The source of life,
She is also
Source of death.

Aqua.
As she's his
Beloved wife,
She takes away
His breath.

The Might of the Earth

The earth,
It comforts me,
Embraces me like arms,
And it holds me tight.

What's it worth?
We won't agree,
As it warms,
And for I fear its might.

But being earth,
You’re never free,
You can’t whisper charms;
You won’t ever fight.

You won’t give birth,
Except for my tree.
You won’t take up arms,
You won't use your might.

After all, you’re just earth.
Just lying there, never free.
You don’t have legs, you don’t have arms,
So away I go, into the night.

About Victory, Blasphemy, Glory, and Mercy

Victory;
It slices,
It dices,
And goes unavenged.

Blasphemy;
I guess,
My life’s a mess,
But God won't care either way.

Glory;
It awaits us,
Just because
We wish to gain it.

Mercy;
We beg for it,
As we don’t see ourselves fit
To die.

Yet.

Arthur The Brave One -> RE: Fancy Tales (6/29/2008 7:02:16)

Just a Single Touch

It made we wonder about life,
How fleeting, dark, and lonely it can be.
It makes me cause a lot of strife,
And gets me in trouble with the ones up high.

I think it's there,
Just to annoy me,
Just to remind me,
Of my own feebleness.
I'll never be me.

I guess I'm just like all the others,
Not special, mighty or rich.
I'm not that good as cannon fodder,
Yet I know how to get fired pretty well.

I think it's there,
Just to stalk me,
Just to scare me,
To bring me fear -
I’ll never be free.

Yet today, life seems different.
Brighter, happier, better.
Yet it is not apparent,
For all those other people

I think it's there,
Just to bless me,
Just to behold me,
For my own good.
And thus I won’t flee.

And it all started, with just a little something.
Just a single touch, your hand and mine.
I no longer have a wish to be nothing -
Now it is to be with you.

Just a single touch…
Who knew it'd make my mind wander off?
The salvation of the people
Lies in hope, dreams, truth and love.

A Lonely Life

I’m walking here, all alone.
Yet I won’t cry.
For what’s the use of crying,
Whining, yelling, running,
When you’re on your own?

The street is empty, time flies by.
My life is empty.
My heart is dark.
My eyes are tired.
Which makes me wonder: why?

Why am I all alone?
The answer’s hidden far below -
In my dark, empty heart.
I try to recover it, by myself,
Yet it chills me to the bone.

I’ve found the solution,
Yet I wish to lose it.
I don’t want to know,
Don’t wish to remember any more,
For I fear the retribution.

I killed them all, I must acknowledge
That my soul is dark; dark and empty.
Hell is near, I feel its presence.
I’m a child of dark alleys.
And I never even went to college.

Now I lead a lonely life,
All others fell before me.
They all have died, they all are gone.
Their lives shall all have been in vane.
Just because of all that strife.

Arthur The Brave One -> RE: Fancy Tales (7/2/2008 9:15:57)

A Prophecy

Once Light and Dark go down together,
And the other elements live in strife...
All living creatures pestered by weather,
More and more shall lose their life.
Then shall rise a God from feather.

The God shall shout and bark and bite;
Uncaring, unliving, undying, unreal.
He shall destroy those who put up a fight,
By making them They Who Truly Feel.
Such is this God, black nor white.

No man can kill him, all shall fall.
No weapon can harm him, he'll just laugh.
No fool can find him, yet he ain't small.
No might will destroy him, not on our behalf.
Only one thing will stop him, and that is the all.

Arthur The Brave One -> RE: Fancy Tales (7/25/2008 12:20:17)

The Eternal Oath of Light

In a spring breeze,
In peace after the fight,
In the shining sun;
We found the light.

Bringing hope,
Banishing thwarts,
Granting life,
It fuels our hearts.

Feeding good,
Bringing strength,
The shining sun,
A weapon's length.

Evil banished,
The dark repelled,
As long as the light's there,
Fear shall be expelled.

For whenever light may shine upon us,
There shall be shadows, not always in sight.
Without light, there'd be no darkness,
Yet without dark, there'd be no light.

Arthur The Brave One -> RE: Fancy Tales (7/30/2008 6:26:44)

Words of a Simple Man

Once the time comes when we die.
At that time we'll know.
That all we did was futile.
And yet we won't feel sorrow.
For the ones left behind so brutal.
At that time when we die.

Live, love, laugh.
Words easily said.
When in life the darkness falls,
And all our wisdom has cowardly fled,
There won't be any goodbye calls.
No life, no love, no laugh.

People mock me for who I am,
They all call me a fool.
Maybe I am, but at least I know
There are no 'ones', one is a mere tool.
At their graves I'll stand, just so
That they can mock me for who I am.

I can't bear no more,
I can exist no longer.
I'll die here, empty, all alone,
Yet In my life, I did get stronger.
In death at last: a heart of stone.
I won't have to bear no more.

When Mastin Speaks...

When Mastin speaks the bells ring,
All horses raise their head.
All stand still and pay attention
When king Mastin speaks ahead.

Mastin, king, lord of the land,
Was noble, honest and good.
Yet of course there was a villain,
Who spread the darkness wherever he could.

Then the king, deeply troubled,
Spoke to those with bravest heart:
"Who of you shall slay this villain,
His name be John MacZard!"

Even the bravest shivered,
They all had heard that name.
The strongest man in all the land,
His body was of flame.

Then a young man came forth and spoke,
Kneeling before the mighty king:
"I, my lord, shall slay this dread man,
All I ask's a single thing."

"Then speak up, young man, now,
We cannot wait forever.
This man has done us only bad,
He may reach the castle, never!"

"I'm afraid, my lord, I'll need your rings,
For they hold quite strong magic.
I know all about their power -
And their history, oh so tragic."

The king was unsure, but he agreed,
As John MacZard was quite a threat.
If he would ever reach the castle,
Even the king would break a sweat.

And so the young man began his journey,
Never to return.
John MacZard disappeared as well,
Hear the tale of our concern:

The two men met at a road to dusk,
Standing there, completely still.
They looked each other in the eye,
A battle of pure will.

When both their minds remained unscathed,
The swords where drawn at speed.
They charged, and charged and charged again,
Neither would concede.

Yet then came the strength of this evil villain,
His power proved unmatched.
For when at last their swords clashed,
Our hero's blade - at last detached.

Two men at a road to dark.
Only one of them left standing.
Then our hero spoke to him,
And called him quite outstanding.

A cursed wound, bleeding heavily,
Our hero would not last much longer.
Yet then the sudden rescue arrived,
And the dawn, at last, proved stronger.

For where moon should have risen,
The sun appeared, and shone his light
Upon these destined men.
They would no longer have to fight.

The rings gave of a bright light,
And then something did occur.
What it was, nobody knows,
As the only witnesses had fur.

And so the nameless defeated the famous,
A victory known far and wide.
A nameless one had slain this evil -
And for that cause he died.

So when you are a nameless,
And nobody will ever recognize you,
Remember this tale, once in a while,
For truth may just happen to be untrue.

And still king Mastin makes the bells ring,
Gives all the nameless hope again.
All shall silently pay attention
When the nameless slay the dread.

A Couple of Not-Haiku’s
-As it appeared these things didn't really follow the rules of Haiku's, I decided to change the title to not-haiku's. Meh, whatever :P-

A summer’s breeze,
A magical moment -
A silent blade of darkness.

In the moonlight,
On a starry night,
Rain down the comets of love.

I look up to the building,
It’s quite huge.
It makes me think of your heart.

Light the candles,
The dead have passed.
Now we pay our respect in silence.

I take a walk towards his grave.
Life is tragic.
Death is happiness.

You think you are always right.
Yet all things thought true,
Can be proven wrong.

Running From the Dark - A Song
-With a big thanks to Firefly, this has been fixed! Happy-happy-joy-joy! :D-

Informality
Just might trigger
Instability
In your old friends.

Jealousy of heart
Will cause my downfall.
Really, it's no art
To make my girl cry, at last...

Yet,
Without you I feel lonely -
Perhaps I'm just a phony,
A fake, a doll, a puppet of fate,
When I know nothing at all anymore...
Just slap me awake!

Abnormality -
I see it everywhere.
Agreeability -
You just don't have it.

You're tearing me apart,
Piece by piece, now.
And you're leaving me all scarred;
I'll crawl away now, at last...

Yet,
Without you I feel lonely -
Perhaps I'm just a phony,
A fake, a doll, a puppet of fate,
When I know nothing at all anymore...
Just slap me awake!

Controllability
Is unimportant.
Defectibility
Makes you ignorant.

I keep running away,
From my former self.
I won't be led astray,
It'd only make things worse, at last...

Yet,
Without you I feel lonely -
Perhaps I'm just a phony,
A fake, a doll, a puppet of fate,
When I know nothing at all anymore...
Just slap me awake!

Adorability
Is something you don't know.
Aggressivity
Is all you can produce.

Now I'm standing here,
On the brink of death.
A world crumbling in fear,
Starts building up again, at last...

Yet,
Without you I feel lonely -
Perhaps I'm just a phony,
A fake, a doll, a puppet of fate,
When I know nothing at all anymore...
Just slap me awake!

Your inability
Will leave you shaking.
Inferiority
Might hit you in the end.

This will be my last card,
And then I'll get running.
No, you can't break my guard,
You won't catch up this time, at last...

Now,
I'll leave you all alone here -
Won't shed a single tear,
You're a fake, a doll, a puppet of fate,
When you don't know me at all anymore...
I won't slap you awake!

Shattered Ignorance

When the dark rose blooms
The people whither
And find their dreadfull ends
At death's very feet.

When the red moon shines
The people shiver,
Cower in fear,
For that which is unknown.

When darkness falls
The people sleep,
Seeking to escape
That which they cannot see.

When I take a stroll
I see pain and misery
Wherever I look;
No matter what.

Yet I don't mind:
Am I that twisted?
Perhaps I have become
One of them already.

I'm a sufferer,
An ignorant tool;
When my role is fullfilled
Death will embrace me.

No, I'll break the rules:
I'll step forward
And bring hope
For I wish the people
to suffer no more.

A Wondering Mind

I'm walking here now,
Looking around,
Thinking the world is
Wonderfull.

Strolling aimlessly,
Gazing upwards,
Thinking the sky
Unreachable.

Sitting here now,
Looking forward,
To a future
That never comes.

Driving 'round now,
In my old van,
Dreaming things
Quite loveable.

Lying here
In my old bed now,
Thinking life's
A miracle.

Arthur The Brave One -> RE: Fancy Tales (9/19/2008 10:54:10)

Approaching Darkness

It's coming to get me,
It's coming to take me,
It's coming to devour;
I must run.

Eternal darkness
Swallows the world,
Fills it with death,
And erases all things pure.

The future holds darkness
And nothing but that.
It's too late to run now,
All hope is lost.

Darkness
Swallows the heart,
Embraces the evil,
Shields all things vile
From the daylight they fear.

Darkness
Conceals all things hidden;
All secrets and hatred.

Darkness
Comes forth from our ignorance.
Raises our indifference;
Makes us care no more.

Darkness
Is approaching
From behind
Turn around
And you'll be the one -
The only one -
To see it coming.

Arthur The Brave One -> RE: Fancy Tales (10/1/2008 17:31:42)

Shimmer

Trying
To fall asleep
Trying
To safely drive
Trying
To meet expectations
Trying
Just to survive

Clinging
To worthless morals
Clinging
To what is not
Clinging
To all I knew
Clinging
To a safer spot

Realising
I'm a failure
Realising
It's an illlusion
Realising
What the point is
Realising
My confusion
Realising
Living is art.

Dearly Beloved
-The music that goes with this poem can be found here: Clicky. It's the very first song on the list, surprisingly called: "Dearly Beloved"-

As I fall
I suddenly see
What I've done
To you and all those others

Can you ever forgive me
For being so heartless?
For being so cruel?
For being so ignorant?

I don't think you can
Because I can't either
So is this farewell?
Or just a goodbye?

Perhaps we should turn
To see each other's face
And realize the fact
That we can't live separated
Not now, not ever

At least I can't
About you I'm unsure
Did you really feel love
Through all those years of suffering?

I really should leave now
I guess this is the end
We won't ever meet again
Our roads won't cross no more

Love is like
A double-edged sword
It can hurt
Bring joy
Bring hope
Bring death

But now I must go
I'll leave it all behind
Gazing off towards a sunset
I won't ever really see

I won't ever know
The fear that you went through
But losing you like this
Is worse than all of that, I'm sure

For I can't live without you
Without you I'm not whole
Now I set off towards a sunset
That I won't ever see

This is the end now
Or is it really, now?
I don't know
But you seem to do
So I'll just have
To let things rest...

For now
Just for now
I'll leave you alone
So you can find peace
Without me at your side

I know I'll too
If not now, then in the grave
For as long as I've been with you
My heart no longer had those scars
That I had to bear
All the time

This is the end
Farewell
Goodbye
We won't meet again
Until death comes to collect
Our souls for the world after this one
And brings us
That which we didn't ever have in life
I think you know what I mean.
Goodbye.
Farewell.

Arthur The Brave One -> RE: Fancy Tales (10/12/2008 5:32:23)

A Couple of Haiku's About Leaving and Returning
-And yes, this time they actually /are/ haiku's :P-

Now that I'm leaving
I suddenly see the truth:
There is no farewell.

Now that I'm going,
Autumn leaves swirl around me,
I finally know.

Shards of broken hearts
Scattered throughout my own house;
Filling me with grief.

I came back for you,
I begged you to embrace me,
Yet you would not budge.

I left you alone,
Just when you needed me most:
I've failed my duty.

I've unveiled the truth:
Life is an eternal struggle.
You know I am right.

Finally I'm home,
After these years of absence.
I'm glad to be back.
