New: i only want the cashews.

EDIT: 3rd page and 50th post!

Anon Y. Mous -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ anyway (11/30/2009 19:39:41)

Here you go: Thought.

BrantePyrus -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: Thought (12/6/2009 20:23:08)

I like this.
And I've only managed to read the top half, allegedly the worse half, of the first page. I need more free time.
This'll need to be one of my "to watch" threads, provided I make time for L&L.
Really, quite good. I enjoyed "The Poem of an Amazingly Unimportant Quest" incredibly.
-Herr Brante

Anon Y. Mous -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (12/7/2009 19:54:42)

Thanks much! As you're also an L&Ler, you can understand how much I appreciate comments! Just so you know, I took an unforseen half-year hiatus from the L&L (because of boredom) and my style had changed when I got back. "grass" is the first poem in my (kinda) new style. But I have solid poems scattered throughout the thread.

Also, new: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw.

Anon Y. Mous -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (12/27/2009 19:17:40)

Hi, evrybuddy! Hap-hap holidays!
On an unrelated note, new: Sick.

Anon Y. Mous -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (1/7/2010 17:02:10)

And whom shall read this poem? Certainly not one who understands the usage of "whom" worse than I.
New: Floating On By.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and 50th poem!

Anon Y. Mous -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (1/22/2010 18:15:45)

New: i and you.
I'm really, really proud of this one. Hopefully it stands the test of time, but right now it seems really good. Starting my third page of poetry with a bang!

Anon Y. Mous -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (8/15/2010 4:41:41)

New: the writer
the poem is as cliche as the subject, but i couldn't resist
wow, it's been another seven months again

Shreder -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (8/15/2010 4:47:51)

Nice to see you back Anon!

Read your new poem, like it, look forward to seeing more...

Anon Y. Mous -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (8/15/2010 4:51:10)

woah, a comment! :D
thanks much!

Shreder -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (8/15/2010 4:55:45)

I felt like I owed it to you. You were one of the first people ever to comment on my poetry when I first joined L&L. :P

Anon Y. Mous -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (8/15/2010 10:37:31)

yep
back when you were just a young laddie buck
good times!

Anon Y. Mous -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (3/29/2011 18:21:48)

ah, i'm not going to pretend to be surprised by how long it's been since i wrote some poetry here
here's a bit of new word-noodling: Airport

Shreder -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (3/29/2011 20:24:00)

Having done a lot of traveling in my time, I must say I really like the concept, and the way you have described everything is just perfect. I particularly love the lines:

quote:

most having slept for strange amounts of time,
now grabbing breakfast while appreciating a beautiful sunset,
or, maybe later, savoring dinner as the sun bashfully rises.

So true. XD

Anon Y. Mous -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (3/29/2011 20:33:58)

thanksmuch!

Anon Y. Mous -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (4/7/2011 0:11:25)

update: "Happiness", "The Week", "Headache", "A Cautionary Tale", "Thought", "Sick", "Floating On By", "the writer", and "Airport" have been edited today. some edits were just little things, and some were pretty drastic

Anon Y. Mous -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (7/8/2011 22:59:51)

My eyelids are drawn inexorably together

a bit more noodling, long overdue. this one must have emerged from somewhere strange, because i don't know where the tone of this poem came from

Anon Y. Mous -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (7/18/2011 20:41:44)

Green
these words and ideas have been bouncing around my head for a while. i finally decided to put them down in words and, strangely enough for me, chose to structure those words in a haiku. a fun little experiment, in other words

Anon Y. Mous -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (8/21/2011 19:39:40)

Heart
this was my ill-advised entry in the zardian's poetry contest, whenever that was. i dug it out and edited it so i could put out a new update, and it's surprisingly not stale

fygi -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (8/24/2011 5:35:58)

Green is an awesome haiku!
It really describes a lot of things I go through in life and really made me think.
'Green' seems to tell the story of someone who has worked very hard to do something everyone can see and admire him for. However it was all in vain and no one can see all the hard work he has done. Only he himself can look down to his hands and see what they have accomplished.
During some periods in my life I'm sure this poem could bring a tear to my eye.

Great poem!

- Fygi

Anon Y. Mous -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (8/24/2011 18:58:06)

thank you for the comment and compliment!
i really like your interpretation of the poem. it's a much more positive outlook than the one i planned for it: inexperience (greenness: the "soft, shining" hands) leads a person to take on more than he or she can handle, and this person knows it, but refuses to relieve him or herself of said burden. the person builds something they think is perfect. eventually, though, this person is prepared to "watch" his or her work crumble, knowing it was all simply too much
i feel as if i'm deluded like the speaker in "Green" sometimes, but i keep soldiering on and hope i'm capable
anyway, thanks again!

Shreder -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (11/25/2011 23:15:46)

Green is excellent, but I must say, Heart is a little...disturbing...

Anon Y. Mous -> RE: Disbelief ~ Poetry ~ NEW: The Most Beautiful Thing I Ever Saw (11/26/2011 0:58:53)

^hahaha, yeah, i feel that way too. i was hoping the "if a bit disgusting" would mitigate the somewhat graphic nature of the imagery a bit, but no dice

thanks for the read!
