Lord of Nightmares -> RE: Game Engine Bugs (6/13/2010 22:53:02)

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I've been having a problem with all AE games that I play (AQ, DF, MQ and WF). It's kinda hard to explain properly in words, but I'll try. The thing is, I usually have 4 browser windows open simultaneously (I'm also using Internet Explorer in case you're wondering) and play all 4 games simultaneously. I basically select my characters' actions in one game, switch to another window to do the same and let my turn in the first game run its course. By the time I'm done selecting the actions for my turn in the other 3 games, I should be able to command my character in the first game again (as in both my and the opponent's turns have already played out in the background while I was on another browser window), and this usually takes less than 20 seconds for the 4 aforementioned games. However, a couple of days ago I noticed that everything suddenly slowed down *significantly*. To give an example, say I order my character to attack in AQ and then I switch to my MQ window and have my main run from one end of the screen to the other in Soluna. For some reason, any games running in the background will take much longer than normal for their respective actions (including cutscenes) to play out. Once I switch back to AQ, my character is still in the process of *starting* her attack even if 5-10 seconds had already elapsed, and when I check my MQ window, the character there is also practically in the same spot as where she was originally standing, although having that window active and open will then cause her to run at normal speeds. Same with any of the other games, I actually need that particular browser window open and active for my turn or the cutscene to play out normally, and any other windows in the background appear to be waiting for me to switch back to them before anything happens, unless I take at least a minute or two to switch back. Right now, my only solution is to actually play one game without opening any other windows, then log out and play a different game otherwise the simple action of even opening another window even if it's say to check my Hotmail account will cause the game to significantly slow down, and it's extremely annoying. Other websites seem to load up normally and the problem thus far appears to be inherent with Flash Player, although I haven't tried any Flash-based online games yet so I'm not sure if that might be the problem as well. I'm still using Flash version 10.1.53.64 and haven't upgraded since then, nor have I installed any new programs or applications recently, although on the day that the problem started I did upgrade my Adobe Acrobat Reader from 8.0 to 9.0. I tried uninstalling Acrobat Reader to see if that might've been the cause, but the problem still persists. Also, I'm using the latest version of Spyware Doctor, just in case that info might help. Hope you get an idea of what I'm trying to describe, and hopefully someone has a possible solution to my predicament. Thanks.
