Well, you guys know what time it is... Febuary! And what day is there gonna be?

Guy in the audience: Friday the 13th!

Err... close. But there's something that always happens this time of year. So yeah, I guess now would be the best time to spread the love with not just rhymy words. But rather, beautiful words that touch touch the heart.

So, if you want to join, here are the rules:
1) Any approved author/poet can join
2) It can be love poems... but try to avoid posting those heart-broken ones... unless there's a good ending :D
3) Have fun :D

Helen of Troy

What’s this sound? These alternate beats
Can it be… the pounding of my heart?
No –– it’s the sound of wardrums
Playing the tune for this life-taking art

In my world, you’re the Helen of Troy
A girl that’s worth fighting for
Though part of a phalanx, my ally is a rival
For your affection and so much more

Countless people strive to be your sun
Shining in your times of happiness
I… give up: I won’t compete with them
I’ll be your moon, there for you in times of darkness

Desire’s End

Is it really human to wish for something you can’t obtain?
Why does time have to fly when you’re having fun?
This desire… just go away, be gone and take away the pain
I can’t let go: a clash of heart and mind, please just be done

Here I am, a breath away, just standing next to her
Her friendly smile, unaware of the feelings I possess
I’m… just a friend, maybe that’s all I’ll be forever
If only you could be my damsel in distress

But that fabled sword in stone is not mine to draw
And I’d bet that she has her own knight in shining armor
Such magnificence! But the fact that it’ll not be mine is its flaw
If she can't be mine, why am I taunted by such glamour?

All those laughs, the playful fights, just have to go
Stop feeding my desire; you’ll just make it more attached to you
It has to end, this climax has reached the peak, now is the ending show
I’m letting go, destroying the truth of my instincts,
and there you are without a clue

I… I… lov –––– Sorry, I can’t continue

The Wall of Hate

In this city, divided by the Wall of Hate
We live without pity, mocked by the laugh of fate

Wasting our days counting the flames of the nights.
Our minds are glued to yesterday's sights
The prejudices rip the future with increasing rate
and use it as plaster in the Wall of Hate

I have spent my time of late
flying kites; a dream tied to each tail.
Let the west wind carry my mail
and lead them over the Wall of Hate

One day, the wind turned to east
for a moment, that is, at least
The kites returned, and in one I did find
A letter attached, with words so kind.

“You dream of peace and justice like I do
And like you, I want out of here, too.”
At that instant, to a revelation I woke
The stranger and I, the same language we spoke

No more silenced by the affairs of the state
We chose to stand, to laugh straight at the face of fate
By the Wall, with hunger bounding in my soul
I smashed my fist into the stone; I tore a hole.

In this city, the jewel of our homeland
I saw you; you took my hand
And with one kiss, with one thud of the heart
We sent the Wall of Hate crumbling apart.

The Crystal Ball

Tonight, you’re going to go out
And drink until you vomit out the car window,
And the police are going to catch you driving intoxicated
And they’ll try to give you a fine you’ll never live to pay.

Tonight, you’re going to ignore me
And think she loves you so much better
As you follow her on the path to self-destruction.

Tonight, you’re going to forget everything you were, everything I loved about you,
And tell me to get lost,
That you’ve never given me a reason to hope
And I should take my worthless love elsewhere.

Tonight, you’re going to mix in with the wrong crowd
And I know how proud she’ll be
When she finds you smoking and drinking and killing yourself inside out just like the rest of them,
And I’ll stand outside the club like a troublesome decoration discarded by the bouncer,
Waiting for you to come back to a home you will not admit you have.

Tonight, you’re going to enact your plan to run away with her
And you’re going to race across the street when you see the police,
Thinking they’re out to get you for the illegal substances you deal for her sake,
And she’s going to grab the wheel as you flee,
And run you over with your own car.

Tonight, she’s going to step up to your prone body
And tell you sorry,
And you’re going to die loving her,
Thinking you lost your life in an accident,
And I’m going to stand on the sidewalk
And curse and hold back the tears I’m threatening to cry
As I wonder why she wasted a good man
And why you let her do it
And why I give a damn about all these whys.

Winter

Life. A cold blizzard swoops the hemisphere
Cold… too cold; I can’t bear it; I can’t resist
Life was frozen, but I’m glad that you’re here
Now I can live through this endless night

My scarf was never enough, and never will
Yes… I’ll simply hold you in these arms of mine
How long will this warmth last? I hope forever still
Frozen shards in my heart now shattered

What’s left are those empty spaces
Can you fill the gap inside my heart?
Surrounding me are a thousand faces
Blind… for they missed someone like you

Since you did invite me, Crimzon5 :P Cheers to Valentine's Day! :D

Unknown Reasons

We'd fight and we'd lie,
all the way through the night.
We'd laugh and we'd cry,
and look up towards the light.

We'd sit and we'd stare,
until there was no one but us.
We'd pretend like we didn't care,
but there's no time to fuss.

We'd talk and we'd listen,
to all who had things to say.
We were better than friends
we wouldn't have it any other way.

We'll stop and we'll think,
to see what the future holds.
We might hesitate to blink
because we could miss the gold.

We'd talk and we'll wait,
straight through all the seasons.
We'll love and we'd tempt fate,
for so many unknown reasons.

To Die For

He sat all alone feeling bitter and petty.
Near the lake nestled in the trees.
His only friend, a sharpened machete.
An awful stench carried on the breeze.

He thought of the face that made him fall.
The eyes that were so vividly green.
Skin so like a porcelain doll.
The most beautiful thing he'd ever seen.

She swam in the lake every summer's eve.
The water glistened in the moon's light.
He'd stand staring and unable to leave.
Going to watch her every single night.

One foggy night a man was by her side.
He came to join her in a swim.
Her watcher felt something inside him had died.
He had hoped that she would one day be with him.

Hurt and anger built and turned to rage.
It was more than he could contain.
Like a wild animal locked in a cage.
He wanted them both to feel his pain.

To a cabin he went to grab his blade.
He was set on making them pay.
No turning back, his mind was made.
Too bad things had to end this way.

By the water's edge he solemnly stood.
Over his face he wore a mask.
His thoughts no longer happy and good.
It was time to complete his task.

They never even had the time to scream.
He was on them quick as lightning.
The blood poured in a bright red stream.
The scene was gruesome and frightening.

Shivering and shaking he could barely stand.
He had hacked them all apart.
Something was pulsing there in his hand.
He finally held his true love's heart.

Moonlight Walk

Light plays on velvet water.
I gather the last seashells
and run to you, laughing,
stumbling in the still, warm sand.

You caught me before I fell.
You warmed me.
You protected me from the cold air.
You kissed me in the waning moonlight.

All the shells I collected
broke into shreds.

Now I stand on the shore,
hearing the low horns of lone boats.
As a ghost I exist,
whispering into the reckless wind:

Why did the hour we met
be all we get?
Why is every grain of sand
only a wish in an empty hand?

Thus all the moments I imagined
broke into tears
thrown in the abyss of a dream.

My fate
by: 2k2ewyn

There's something about us

Something that keeps us together
Through the good times
And the bad

Something that makes me love you

So as I walk away
With a tear in my eye
Please turn away

I can't bear you seeing me like this

Even though I'll see you
In a few short hours

I'll still miss you

I'll spend my time
Thinking of you
And sketching you
Even though I know
That I can never make them
As beautiful as you

But when I see you again
It almost makes it all worth it
To just be able to see you again.
