Olzzon: I'm not sure if these are the correct answers you are looking for.

Necrophades -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (2/24/2010 13:57:57)

What effect does the Strike stat have on potion potential? I've seen this thing at the bottom of the stat training list and I wanted to know more about it. Does it effect MP, or will it only boost HP potions?

Rhowena -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (2/24/2010 19:31:41)

"Strike" isn't a stat; it's actually part of the previous list item that wound up on the next line. The bonus mentioned applies to Luck. Here are the exact stats from the Master List of Game Formula:

quote:

Health Potion Healing

HP recovered drinking one Health Potion = (50 + Level/3) to (100 + Level/3 + LUK/2 + END/2)
HP recovered drinking two Health Potions = (100 + Level/3) to (200 + Level/3 + LUK/2 + END/2)

Mana Potion Healing

MP recovered drinking one Mana Potion = (50 + Level/3) to (100 + Level/3 + LUK/2 + INT/2)
MP recovered drinking two Mana Potions = (100 + Level/3) to (200 + Level/3 + LUK/2 + INT/2)

CODTim -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (2/25/2010 16:25:05)

Does Dex give give melee weapons power?
Does STR give Ranged weapons power?

Technomancer -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (2/25/2010 16:30:46)

The answer is 'no' to both questions. Str is the only thing that affects Melee and the only thing affected by Str is Melee. ;)

Edit: to clarify: Quote taken from the FAQ stat training thread:

quote:

Strength(STR) - Increases Melee damage and bonus to hit with Melee Weapons
Dexterity(DEX) - Increases bonus to hit percent for all attacks and dodging ability.

Dex also gives bonus damage for non-gun, non tech/skills ranged damage.

CODTim -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (2/25/2010 16:41:57)

so its different to AQ then?

On AQ Ranged weapons get 80% damage from STR and 20% from DEX

moneybags -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (2/25/2010 18:29:12)

Yup, its different. In AQ, there aren't much guns, they're usually spears or bows. Logically, you'll need Strength to throw those weapons to hit stronger. Therefore, it gets a bonus from STR (and DEX bonuses for the accuracy). In WF, they're mainly guns. You don't need strength to pull the trigger, but you do need accuracy, which comes from training DEX.

Necrophades -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (2/25/2010 19:54:15)

And the above is exactly why technicians (mages) in WF will be using guns as their primary means of attack outside of skills and techs. Since they don't train STR, they need a weapon that deals consistently high damage independent of armor or stats. There will never be magic weapons in WF, as far as anyone knows, so guns are the way to go for squishy builds.

theangleofdeath -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (2/25/2010 20:25:48)

can some one help me with this i need to know how to get in the elavater with yellow tape in front of it

The one for the WarpGuardian Tower, you just need to click on the circle above it.

CODTim -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (2/26/2010 15:54:44)

If DEX increases non-Gun ranged attacks, if i was using say sharpshooters lazer pistol, would any stat increase the damage of it?

Technomancer -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (2/26/2010 16:07:14)

I don't think so. Like said in the quote I used earlier:

quote:

Dexterity(DEX) - Increases bonus to hit percent for all attacks and dodging ability. Dex also gives bonus damage for non-gun, non tech/skills ranged damage.

I don't know exactly what the 'non-gun, non techs/skills' part means, but it *might* affect ranged weapon specials. In any case, normal gun attacks receives no damage bonus from any stat except from Luk (Lucky strikes).

CODTim -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (2/26/2010 16:08:35)

so would this be a good build?

200 Dex
100 LUK

Technomancer -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (2/26/2010 16:12:06)

Absolutely. I use it myself and it's a very decent build. It's called a 'pure' build, since you only focus on the two core stats for Gunners (Dex and Luk). Being a pure build means having high accuracy and damage (mostly from lucky strikes in this case).

From the WF stat training FAQ:

quote:

Pure Gunner would be trained DEX, END, LUK ~ More focus on DEX and LUK(as the main)
Some prefer DEX and LUK equal, and <50 END at (very) high level.
Otherwise it's up to you to pick another Stats to get more damage, power etc.
L 5 | 25 LUK | | |
L 10 | 25 DEX/LUK | | |
L 15 | 25 DEX, 50 LUK | | |
L 20 | 50 DEX/LUK | | |
L 25 | 50 DEX, 75 LUK | | |
L 30 | 75 DEX/LUK | | |
L 35 | 75 DEX, 100 LUK | | |
L 40 | 100 DEX/LUK | | |
L 45 | 100 DEX, 125 LUK | | |
L 50 | 100 DEX, 150 LUK | | |
L 55 | 125 DEX, 150 LUK | | |
L 60 | 150 DEX/LUK | | |

CODTim -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (2/26/2010 16:13:13)

ok thanks[:D]

golem -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (3/1/2010 23:38:06)

I'm a guardian and dragon lord and started playing this game it is so cool I see its in a basic stage if we upgrade now do we become founders, also when you upgrade is it for 1 character or all your slots?

Tokijin -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (3/2/2010 0:23:49)

@ golem

No, when you upgrade, you only upgrade one character. You have to upgrade each character separately.[8D] upgrading now wouldn't get you a founder title, since Warpforce has been out for almost a year now.

Note:
quote:

I'm a Guardian or X-Guardian (AQ)/DragonLord(DF)/StarCaptain(MQ)/Member(AQW). Are there any bonuses in WarpForce for us?
-------A: Players who have upgraded in other AE games can upgrade in WarpForce (to a Warp Guardian) for a discounted price of USD $9.95.

CODTim -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (3/4/2010 11:40:15)

Question: If i am wearing advanced star knight, level 57 New Hullscuffer , and had 150 STR 150 LUK, on 125% modifiers, can someone tell me rougly how much damage id be doing if i do 1 hit?

Aelthai -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (3/4/2010 14:28:35)

Advanced Star Knight:
quote:

MELEE ATTACK
Hits: 1, 2, or 3 (randomly selected)
Type: «As Weapon»
Element: «As Weapon»
Listed Damage: 328% Base and Random and 422% Stats
Actual damage: 50% of the above B/R/S per hit
BTH: +6% plus Stats

Each hit is therefore 164% Base and Random, 211% Stat. You will (on average) get two of them.

Level 57 New Hullscuffer:
quote:

Damage: 9-28
BtH: +7%

I'm going to ignore the Special, becuase it sounds like you're interested in the weapon attack itself. For a comparison with another weapon, the Special should really be included.
This is 9 Base, 19 Random.

150 STR contributes up to 18.75 damage per 100% stat. (STR/8 to melee damage).
When a Lucky Strike happens, 150 LUK contributes up to 75 damage per 100% stat. (LUK/2 when a Lucky Strike happens, which is 10% of the time).

I'm going to assume that you hit. For a full comparison with anything else, you would also need to consider BtH.

Base: 9*1.64*1.25 = 18.45
Random: 19*1.64*1.25 = 38.95
Stat: 18.75*2.11*1.25 = 49.45
Lucky Strike: 75*2.11*1.25 = 197.81

Without a Lucky Strike, you would do 18-107 damage (average 63)
With a Lucky Strike, you would do 18-305 damage (average 162)

On average, including both Lucky Strikes and hits without Lucky Strikes, you would do ~73 damage per actual hit with this armor.

Your chance to miss, your chance to Special, and how many hits the armor does will affect your average damage per turn and those were all left out.

CODTim -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (3/4/2010 14:32:54)

^ Thanks very much[:D] i was wondering wether to change to pure gunner from pure striker, but the damage isnt alot more tbh

Aelthai -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (3/5/2010 15:20:33)

I clearly need to read up more ;-)

Non-gun, non-tech/skill ranged damage is not very common in WF. What it's referring to is things that aren't in your Skill bar and that aren't tagged as using INT (or being a 'gun' attack, some armor skills are "gun attacks"). In general, this will be things that use your weapon and which do Ranged damage.

If you check the Encyclopedia, it should generally say (though it may not be noted on some of the older entries...).

The classic example of this is Weapon Throw. And yes, as you would expect, Weapon Throw uses *both* STR and DEX for damage - it uses the same formula as a Ranged attack in AQ would.

quote:

ORIGINAL: Technomancer

I don't think so. Like said in the quote I used earlier:

quote:

Dexterity(DEX) - Increases bonus to hit percent for all attacks and dodging ability. Dex also gives bonus damage for non-gun, non tech/skills ranged damage.

I don't know exactly what the 'non-gun, non techs/skills' part means, but it *might* affect ranged weapon specials. In any case, normal gun attacks receives no damage bonus from any stat except from Luk (Lucky strikes).

MonsterMike9000 -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (3/6/2010 4:56:06)

Since Warpforce uses the same engine as Battleon, Im ganna go ahead and say that the max stat for Dex/luck is 200 as well at some point.

What stats are best raised when/if the level cap rises to 120? Would it be a good idea to raise strength at that point?

Bu Kek Siansu -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (3/6/2010 5:17:08)

MonsterMike9000: It depends on your build.

As a Striker lvl 120: 200 STR/DEX, 150 LUK, 50 END

As a Gunner lvl 120: 200 INT/LUK, 150 DEX, 50 END <=> 200 CHA/LUK, 150 DEX, 50 END

CODTim -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (3/6/2010 5:29:19)

Does WF have or plan to have a 10% EXP boost for warpguardians like AQ does?

MonsterMike9000 -> RE: =WF= Questions and Answers Thread (3/6/2010 5:33:13)

As a Gunner, at lvl 120, I saw my stats as this:

200 Dexterity
200 Luck
+200 extra points.

Im wondering where those extra 200 points should go.

Why would I want 200 Intelligence?
