Timhortanz -> RE: Book of War (5/31/2010 21:04:50)

It's not that it's a shock he changed colors. It's that the color seems to melt my eyes :P

Goldstein -> RE: Book of War (5/31/2010 21:14:45)

I never used green! Geez!
Anyway, I sure do like the idea of a Book of Wagers, although that might seem to similar to the Book of Wishes...

Прощай сэр! Желаем удачи!
Farewell Sir! Good luck!

Postmaster General -> RE: Book of War (5/31/2010 21:21:27)

Wagers as in gambling?

This would be an interesting topic, although the PG-13 guidelines of the AE Forums may not allow such content.

A few theme ideas of my own:

Book of....

-Afterlife (Angels, Demons, loved ones watching through the holes in the floor of Heaven?)
-Mystery (Yes, I'm still pulling for this one)
-the Future (Space, Flying cars, Aliens, Time Travel even?)
-Flight
-Freedom (anything from Summer Vacation to the end of religious persecution)

Crimzon5 -> RE: Book of War (5/31/2010 21:23:43)

quote:

@Crimmy+Goldy: I'll wager... A TENTH OF MY BOTTLE CAPS (which ends up being around 50?).

Hey! Crmzon and gold are colors! (Except the first is a typo of crimson)

Hehe! Book of wagers sounds fun! If we managed to write a book of War within PG-13 content, I don't see how we cant pull Wagers off!

horusmaster9 -> RE: Book of War (5/31/2010 21:26:01)

I... really can't see the similarity between wagers and wishes (aside from the obvious W). Wagers may be similar to luck, maybe, due to gambling and such. But whatever.

Book of Wednesdays?
Book of the Weak?
Book of the Week?
Book of the Worn?

Long live the Book W_ dynasty!

EDIT: I up the ante by a bag of chex mix~!

Goldstein -> RE: Book of War (5/31/2010 21:41:10)

Hey, what a coincidence! =P
Anyway, I loves me a good mystery.

alexmacf -> RE: Book of War (5/31/2010 21:53:48)

I'd like to see a Book of Freedom, since the next Book is in July and AE is located in America. Or perhaps a Book of Patriotism, which has potential in its own right.

The Extinguisher -> RE: Book of War (6/1/2010 3:30:56)

Book of Freedom seems like it might be fun.

Xirminator -> RE: Book of War (6/1/2010 5:33:21)

Some suggestions starting with "W", just because so many people are in love with that letter.

Book of "Walkabout" - a coming of age theme. I don't think the word fits with Book, though.
Book of "Wandering" - travel, strange lands, ect.
Book of "Water" - about evaporation and condensation and the osmosis process... Yes, I'm joking.
Book of "Wilderness" - come up with something.
Book of "Witchcraft" or "Witchery" or "Witching" - magic, ect
Book of "Wordsmiths" - about telling stories, might have some interesting results
Book of "Worlds" - sci-fiction exploration? New planets, ect
Book of "Wyverns" - who doesn't love dragons? Come on.

Otherwise, a Book of Freedom might be interesting. I've got some ideas I want to throw around.

That's it. *goes back to another fifteen-day exam hell*

Timhortanz -> RE: Book of War (6/1/2010 6:23:17)

I'd LOVE a book of Worlds.

@Goldy- Of course you did... *Goes off searching for a post with green*

Dundas -> RE: Book of War (6/1/2010 6:27:14)

A book of freedom, sounds AWESOME!, Lol that'd be sweet, but than again some of these other book's, i'm hearing of. Also sound pretty sweet :P
How about, a book of like Supernatural being's (Inhumane character's) That would also be pretty Cool. :D

Reaper Sigma -> RE: Book of War (6/1/2010 7:57:34)

Book of Freedom sounds good. Can we change the name to Book of Free Will?

Other Ideas:

Book of Will: Stories on willpower and perserverence.
Book of Wind: Anything from a gust of wind, to a hurricane, ti wind magic
Book of Woe: Sad stories.

quote:

Long live the Book W_ dynasty!

Eukara Vox -> RE: Book of War (6/1/2010 9:06:26)

OK, I think I have my dates straight and it is June 1st.

*checks calendar*

Yes, it is. So the submission process is now over. Thanks to everyone who submitted and stick around for more to come.

The poll for next round will be up some time today. I have decided that you guys will vote and the top three will be what my staff picks from.

superjars -> RE: Book of War (6/1/2010 9:17:42)

@Eukara, will we be able to vote for more than one option in this poll? Or will it just be one a piece?

Shreder -> RE: Book of War (6/1/2010 9:22:07)

I'm pretty sure you will only be able to vote for one...

Crimzon5 -> RE: Book of War (6/1/2010 10:29:00)

If there's a book of mystery like last time, you know what gets my vote ;) (Unless something better gets added)

Postmaster General -> RE: Book of War (6/1/2010 11:04:26)

Wow, it seems as though my Freedom idea really caught on!

@Reaper0001: Free Will could be an interpretation of Freedom. It goes back to the argument all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares. Freedom encompasses Free Will, but Free Will does not necessarily encompass Freedom. Because part of the appeal is the fourth of July (which would be next month, the month after this one) Freedom would be the ideal theme.

I would be torn in a vote. Assuming that the vote included Mystery and Freedom, it would be a hard choice for me. Although this is also provided that there are no themes that top these two.

Crimzon5 -> RE: Book of War (6/1/2010 11:07:17)

Book of Freedom: You are free to surpass PG 13 content write about anything ;)

Then for the book for Freedom, I shall write about Slavery!
Kinda ruins the theme though xD

Red Blizzard -> RE: Book of War (6/1/2010 18:50:27)

Hmmm...book of freedom is open to so many interpretations, almost anything can fit under it.

Other suggestions:

Book of Dragons
Book of Darkness
Book of Death
Book of Dreams

Goldstein -> RE: Book of War (6/1/2010 18:54:56)

Crimzon: Great idea! And for the Book of Politics, I'll write about sensible, intelligent people! And for the Book of Somberness, I'll write about Groucho Marx!

Cow Face -> RE: Book of War (6/2/2010 9:36:56)

Pshaw. We all know that Groucho Marx deserves a book all his own.

On a more serious note, I have to throw in here that I love the turnout of this book. There are so many great stories and poems! It's been a pleasure reading them all.

Edit: "Stories in poems" is what I get for posting right after waking up. >_>

Balu -> RE: Book of War (6/2/2010 15:02:50)

This is an absolute epic project where lots of very talented people...and me came together to create something great. When you go through this book and read the different submissions, you soon are overwhelmed by the plethora of emotions the authors have decited to share with the reader. And thank you Eukara for making all this possible!
Now, regarding the next book, it would be great if it was a "Book of Wonders"(head is already spinning with ideas), but a Book of World or Freedom would be awsome also. :-)

Cow Face -> RE: Book of War (6/3/2010 13:15:23)

Shattered by Xirminator

Turning the Tides of War by superjars

The News by Fleur Du Mal

Hooray, more stories and poetry!

Goldstein -> RE: Book of War (6/4/2010 23:00:25)

What? My story has yet to be posted? Come now, I'm feeling a tad hurt! Is it because mine has a whimsical tone about it, while the others are so solemn and somber? Or is it, uh...my piece did get accepted, right?

Shreder -> RE: Book of War (6/4/2010 23:08:16)

Your piece was accepted, and all but ready to be posted when you submitted a revised version. So now we are looking at your new version and seeing what changes you made, and which version we are going to put in.
