Eukara Vox -> Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/1/2010 1:37:02)

Well, as you can see, the next book for July is Book of Tides. So, write your tales of the sea. What adventures, discoveries or tales do you have locked away in that brain of yours to share with everyone else.

Same rules apply. I can't imagine any special circumstances revolving around this topic. Reminder of guidelines and such.

One exception!
I will be on vacation from Jul2 until Jul9. While I am gone, if you turn in a story, please PM it to any of the L&L AKs. Please do not send it to me, Gianna Glow or Radagast.

Good luck!

Prologue by Eukara Vox and Alexander Shiveran

Woot! Book of oceans and sea monsters and pirates and coral and life on the sea and water and wetness and storms and fishing and whales and mermaids and manatees and Navies and cannons and pleasure cruises and Titanics and ice bergs and...and...and... Oooh, pirates... Did I just say pirates? Yay, I have my first story subject! :P

I hope you all have as much fun writing this as I plan to have. And I look forward to getting to read through all the things that you are going to write! And remember, that vanishing horizon is the limit of what ideas that you can use and that just keeps going on forever! :D

Ultrapowerpie -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/1/2010 10:13:36)

IT'S UP, IT'S UP! FINALLY!

*MIllions of moogles mob around the channel in quite a fluster to find a good theme*

Xplayer -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/1/2010 13:17:55)

Woah! I totally didn't see that coming. Expect a poem or a song from me.

Silver Lion -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/1/2010 13:21:31)

I might try something but... I'm more of an RPer... Oh well, a descriptive text wouldn't hurt anyone, I guess. :p Doesn't hurt to try.

Angel of Grief -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/1/2010 13:33:38)

Figures, i would forget what i was going to write about for this book.

[>:]

This is the one I least wanted. Thankfully, I had ideas for all themes. The one I'm submitting won't be too long, I think.

horusmaster9 -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/1/2010 22:26:56)

My story for the last book probably would have been better for this one. <.<

But yay, the one I most wanted. I better get started now. xP

EDIT: Did anyone else notice the LotR reference? >.>

Poetic Melody -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/2/2010 0:10:09)

Ooh! Yes! I am so glad this was chosen. I'll start writing now. It's about time I did one of these. :)

Lkeas -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/2/2010 14:08:35)

Sweet, a water theme! The Nautican in me is itching to contribute to this latest book project. I'll have to see what I can come up with. [:D]

Eukara Vox -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/2/2010 14:28:40)

An important announcement.

From this point forward, all submissions to the Book thread must be done by link only. Please do not post your work in the Archives. The stories in the Book are meant to be only in the book. They go in as is, with what few adjustments my staff makes when submitted.

Please do not put them in the archive. Book stories are for the book and were meant to actually be read for the first time when they were posted by me or one of my AKs.

Reaper Sigma -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/2/2010 16:22:12)

Hmm, that propses a problem for me. The only way for me to submit my stories is by posting in the Archive. I'd either have to delete the story in the Achive once it's posted(rather, have an AK/Mod do it), or email. No offense, but I don't trust people I don't know in person with my email.

It wasn't a reference, just a quote from a great wizard.

superjars -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/2/2010 17:07:41)

Reaper, alternatively, you can feel free to PM your piece to any of the AK's and we'll make sure that it gets taken care of. :D

Fleur Du Mal -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/2/2010 17:33:19)

Reaper & Superjars,

There's a problem with PMing stories. While it may be a good option for poems, the PMs are limited to 4900 characters only. Characters, not words. This can make posting stories very tedious. For example, my rather-short entry in the previous book wouldn't have fitted into one PM. Nothing, of course, prevents you from cutting the story into several parts and PMing those.

There are websites designed for sharing/temporary storing of bigger blocks of text, eg. pastebin and textbin that you might want to give a look and use if the PMing doesn't work out. =)

Reaper Sigma -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/2/2010 17:48:57)

I'm very paranoid about sites like those. I'll stick to PMing, and probably going to pester the new AK with posting the story. [8D]

superjars -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/2/2010 17:53:55)

Heh, fine by me. I've got the space. Feel free to send it along any time! :P

Reaper Sigma -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/3/2010 22:39:17)

Halfway done with mine. Not going to reference Bon Jovi, as some people steal my thunder when I do that. (glares at alexmacf)

The ocean isn't too hard to write about. I'll attempt to finish it soon, though my tendency to procrastinate will probably get in the way of that.[>:]

Birdboy -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/4/2010 12:43:25)

Birdboy takes to the seas?! Perfect... I'll join in!

*Powers up new Cursed Inferno Infinity and summons Hybrid X* This will be fun

Aliens! War ships! Magic! Everythig! I'm such a genius! Bwahawhaw!

“Hyperion, You and I, The ultimate death match! Let the blood that once was shed here be shed once more in a one sided battle!”

Iron -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/4/2010 18:11:00)

I wanna try this. Looks fun I should have gotten around sooner for the other books. :/ Oh well gotta scour my brain for a theme.

alexmacf -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/4/2010 22:41:50)

Yay, I'll get to write a good one!

In process. I shan't tell you anything this time!
You lot'll just have to wait.

Angel of Grief -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/4/2010 22:41:52)

I so want to write something like this for the book. :O

Acient J -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/5/2010 21:29:05)

Yay, something to do besides EpicDuel farming! I've been dreadfully inactive in L&L; hopefully I'll get more time soon.

Edit: I've decided on a theme, and I'm working on the story now. The worst part is always coming up with a good beginning.

Angel of Grief -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/6/2010 9:19:46)

Hmm, (any) mod/AK that can see this: Are we allowed to put some song lyrics into the end of our piece, if it fits? :l
I have two different endings that I have to choose between. >.<

As long as you give credit where it is due, there shouldn't be a problem with that. ~superjars

Torn -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/6/2010 11:00:59)

I was hoping Sci-Fi would win, but tides is still a good subject. I'm glad I thought ahead. Hope to see some great stories.

Goldstein -> RE: Book of Tides discussion thread. (7/6/2010 14:24:06)

Fweh...what can I possibly do for this...eh, I'll think of something...
