Falerin
Loremaster

Location: Isle d'Oriens » Click on leftmost room » Enter Falerin's Library

«This was where Falerin, the Loremaster could be found since the appearance of Isle d'Oriens (24 March 2006) up till the events of The Arden Door (05 August 2010).»

Falerin: Welcome to my sanctum. I might not appear pleased, but I do enjoy company, however rare it may be. I am Falerin Ardendor.. Loremaster of Isle d'Oriens.
  • Why are your ears pointy?
Falerin: By Keesish the Owl of Eldron the Good! Are you always so simple minded?? I am of elven lineage. Part-elven, going back generations.
    • You are a rude man

Falerin: And YOU, dear visitor, are more addled than Frederick Aragon in his Fizzle Phase....
      • I just want to look around - See dialogue for "What is a Loremaster?"
      • Fizzle Phase??

    • Who is Eldron the Good?

Falerin: Now, if I told you the story of Eldron the Good, you wouldn't be inclined to research the story yourself, would you? I CAN say that he was the perpetrator of much philanthropy.
      • What do you do here? - See dialogue for "What is a Loremaster?"
      • Whose skull is on the table?

Falerin: THAT, my dear visitor, is the skull of Eldron the Good.
        • ...................
  • What is a Loremaster?
Falerin: As Loremaster, I make it my duty to collect stories of all kinds. Some are truthful, some, not-so-truthful. But all are interesting. Explore the shelves, but I must warn you. THESE books are special.
    • Special?
Falerin: Yes. The books will decide whether you can open them or not. Take "Galloph's Creed", for instance. It is not Shakesphere, its not even Thiax Newstar of Seattle Prime but it conveys the message well enough.
    • Thanks!
    • Can I buy any books?

Falerin: You can, but my supply is limited. One of my books can be quite expensive.
      • Buy a book!

Falerin: I hope what you have found will be of use to you. Or, if you do not take care of it, may it be useful to someone ELSE.

      • Maybe later

«Clicking on the pillar on the left would cause Falerin's head to transform into the same as that of yours!»

    Falerin: ............
  • ????? You look like--
Falerin: You should see yourself, you look surprised. Wait, you actually CAN see yourself.
  • But how can you do that?
Falerin: My, my, you are filled with questions. Suffice to say, you may think twice when next you speak to anyone.
Falerin: It may not be the person you intend to speak to...

«Falerin's head transforms back into that of his own.»

«If you click on the skull on the table...»

Falerin: PLEASE do not touch the skull. It is worth more gold than you could get out of a thousand Leprechauns.
  • Okay

«Three scrolls lay on the table. From the left, they take you to Attack on Drakel Domed City, Carnax Rises, and The Dragon War Finale respectively. The second book from the top, on the table, lets you read the story of The Great Fire War.»

    Falerin's Domicile
    In memorial to a Loremaster

Isle d'Oriens » Click on leftmost room » Enter Falerin's Library

«After 05 August 2010, following the events of The Arden Door, Falerin's Domicile was updated, with a new inhabitant - Eldron. Clicking the green outlined symbols on the pillar leads to The Arden Door Quest.»

Eldron: This place seem so odd without Falerin in it. As Loremaster he breathed such life into the place. He even seemed happy at times. *Sigh* I am Eldron, known hereabouts as "the Good." How might I assist you?
  • What happened to Falerin?
Eldron: He was killed by an entity that is not a being. A thing and not a creature....
    • How can you kill a god?

Eldron: Some deities are truly immortal, but Caelestian deities generally can suffer disincorporation.
      • Disincorporation?

Eldron: Yes, disincorporation. He has transitioned in state.
        • In common please?
Eldron: He's passed on. He is no more. He's ceased to be. He's expired and gone to meet his maker... Though come to think of that, which creator? The original or the upgrade? The local one? No, that would make little sense.
        • Er...
Eldron: ... Nevermind. Where was I? Oh, yes. He is an Ex-Loremaster.
        • ..................

      • Can I look around? - See dialogue for "What is a Loremaster?"

    • Who did this?

Eldron: The entity that did so is no being nor creature, but Shadow itself. Falerin took a full attack. He could have resisted, but did not.
      • Why?

Eldron: That I don't know. Perhaps he knew his resistance would harm more than helped.
        • Interesting...

      • Isn't that your skull on the table?

Eldron: Well it does belong to me, but it was never in my head. It is actually a powerful artifact I helped design... with the aid of some unfortunate souls... Perhaps you'd like to GIVE a HAND with my experiments as well.
        • ................
  • What is a Loremaster?
Eldron: Falerin collected some very strange books. Some are lies, some write themselves, all are interesting. Peruse freely, but beware, some of these books are quite dangerous.
    • How can a book be dangerous?
Eldron: Oh, they can be quite so. I think there is a copy of the Cookienomnomnomicon in here, the most diabolical of books. There is also one penned by that Twig fellow. It is entirely composed of seafood sundae recipes...
    • Ugh!
    • Can I buy any books?

Eldron: I believe that Falerin left a few books behind.
      • Buy a book!

«If you click on the skull on the table...»

Eldron: Do you know what happened to the last person who touched something of mine uninvited?
  • What?
Eldron: Come to think of it... That IS the last person who touched something of mine unbidden.
  • His Skull?
Eldron: Well not actually.... but he did help in its manufacture.
  • *Gulp*

«If you click on the chest behind Eldron, in the background...»

Eldron: Do you know what I hate about chests like that?
  • What?
Eldron: You never know with them.
  • Know?
Eldron: If it is actually a chest or a flesh eating mimic.
  • *Gulp*

    Falerin
    The Loremaster

Location: Isle d'Oriens » Click on leftmost room » Enter Falerin's Library

«Following the end of the events of the Bizarre Flecks, on 17 January 2013, Falerin has returned to his domicile, now accompanied by Eldron and a strange chest on the floor...»

If you click on the chest on the left side of the room:

Falerin: That is a risky prospect my friend.
  • What?
Eldron: He does not like being poked. He is known to bite.
  • What?
Mimic: Hey! I wish you would stop telling people that. I haven't eaten anyone in years!
Falerin: That just means you are extra hungry.
Mimic: It does not! I eat Burps!
Eldron: So you are saying that if a nice delicious human stuck his hand down your throat you would resist the temptation?
Mimic: How delicious are we talking? I mean... Of course I would resist!

    If you click on Falerin:

Falerin: It is very good to see you again my friend. What can I do for you today?
«You»: Wow. It sure is different seeing the two of you here together. Yet right some how.
«You»: Do you remember when we first met? Or when Eldron had to run the place because Erebus had killed you?
Falerin: Like it was yesterday my friend. Would you like me to have the Abode send you back to either of those points?
  • Send me back to our first meeting (brings you to the first version of Falerin's Domicile, from before 05 August 2010)
  • Send me back to the period where you were gone (brings you to the second version of Falerin's Domicile, 05 August 2010 - 17 January 2013)
  • Actually, I came to make a purchase

Falerin: May your studies enlighten you, «You», I know I enjoyed that one myself.

    If you click on Eldron:

Eldron: Why hello «You». It is a pleasure to see you again, can I help you with anything?
  • When were you last on Caelestia?
      Eldron: I am there presently.
    • You can colocate that far?
Eldron: I am on Terra, Galosi Prime, and Delta V as well.
    • You sure do get around

Eldron: I do like to travel and keep active.
      • I can tell

    • Can I look around?

Eldron: That is Falerin's place to answer. But be wary he has collected some very strange books. Some are lies, some write themselves, some are quite dangerous. Of course, all are interesting.
Falerin: Elements of Magiborgian Statistical Analysis of Extinct Neoslug Genuses Abridged Edition Volumes 1-23 are rather distinteresting, actually.
Eldron: Ah, my friend, but isn't interesting by sheer dint that it manages to fill so many pages with such totally dull material. How they accomplished that is a study in and of itself.
Falerin: Mayhaps, but I think I will leave that study to someone with more tolerance for inane bovine excrement than I.
        Edlron: It takes all kinds.

Eldron: I do not know? Do you have that capacity?
        • "May" I buy any books?
Eldron: I do not know, as they are not mine to sell.
        • ...
  • I think I will just look around.
