reeper66 -> AQW Fourm Badge (11/5/2010 17:08:02)

I think aqw players should get a badge for joining fourms and discussing the game with one another.

ClaytonPoweredUp -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/5/2010 17:28:29)

JUST MY OPINION, But I don't like the idea, signing up to a forum isin't really an accomplishment, maybe if you've been active for awhile.... but not for signing up..

RocketSnail -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/5/2010 17:40:51)

I have to agree with Clayton, It isnt an accomplishment. I don't think signing up for any other games or AE programs should benefit (much) your accounts)

ClaytonPoweredUp -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/5/2010 17:42:40)

@RocketSnail
Thanks for agreeing with me.

reeper66 -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/5/2010 19:12:11)

Basicly people will join fourms if they see the badge...not such a bad idea after all >.>

RocketSnail -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/5/2010 20:24:46)

There's no real point to this idea, Badges should be earned, not recieve with a snap of the fingers.

Raiden Storm -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/5/2010 21:43:43)

Any person that a given badge entices to a certain AE game only increases the quality of your own gaming experience for the future aswell as others.
Most inevitabley are drawn to ballyhoo or even becoming a member and as the saying goes "every little bit helps".
That is certainly worth a badge in the book of lore or in profile, whatever the case may be. As for a badge for joining forum, i am not sure that is entirely warrented.
On the note of discussing with others now that sounds fair, if you can draw more players to the game and if they become members because of it
then why not? : )

Chii -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/5/2010 22:14:13)

I would argue two things.

First being that it's more likely than not that a person who would join the forums just to get a badge is also just as likely to then leave the forums immediately afterward, as they only joined for the badge in the first place.

Second, it'd make more sense--if this were to be done--to have the achievement be recorded on the master account instead of a particular game. There's nothing that makes AQW players joining the forums any more special than, say, a DragonFable player joining the forums.

ClaytonPoweredUp -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/6/2010 11:17:35)

@Chii
Yeah that is true too. I forgot to mention people just joining for the badge and quitting...

Leumas Dragonsword -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/6/2010 14:45:10)

The next step to further this suggestion would be to develop a way of awarding the achievement without people leaving the forums. Perhaps it is not given instantly? But then gaging the appropriate time frame for people to recieve the achievement would be mind boggling. You also need to be aware of the requirement to recieve the badge also, whether it be based on number of posts, where you've posted, how you've posted or your general overall activity.

Other than that, cool suggestion and I hope to see more. =)

~Leu

Chii -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/6/2010 15:36:37)

Base it on number of posts and you'll see post logs consisting of this-

* NewUser joined the forum
New thread: hi
New thread: nvm dis
New thread: jus 4 ach
New thread: lol
New thread: ....
New thread: asdfplj
New thread: soz
New thread: GOT ACH BYE

zeke50100 -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/6/2010 20:48:05)

Not to mention that in my (and others') past experiences, those who bring the most intelligent and constructive posts are already perfectly capable of finding a message board dedicated to the game they play while at the same time not needing any additional incentive to be active. Awarding people for joining a forum is just a bad idea in my opinion.

Awarding a badge for post behavior might sound like a good idea, but I think it would fall under "striving to achieve a title".

JB -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/6/2010 22:10:43)

I see the use of the badge, AE can always delete non-active members and make their badge disappear. Forumers deserves that badge, we are helping support the team anyways. Actually to refer to Chii's post, their messages will be deleted and have a message about it.
They can ban a member and it can also convince people to help support the forums.

ClaytonPoweredUp -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/6/2010 22:21:35)

@JB
That would be a waste of time, You should not get a badge for signing up for the forums, AE has better things to do then delete un-active users. What do you achive by signing up to a forum? All you do is click a few links and type in info, there ya go. Achievement unlocked.

earth breather -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/7/2010 5:09:01)

i have to disagree with what the topic is as of chiis post bout the spam and about the post saying AQW people r more important then say a epicduel player

RocketSnail -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/7/2010 7:26:01)

earth breather, no, AQW and ED are a bit different, but it doesn't mean one is more important.

siewbryan123 -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/7/2010 8:11:25)

But still maybe AE should award the achievements to players who actually gave a good idea

ClaytonPoweredUp -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/7/2010 11:43:10)

Well if thats that way it was, then it would just be out of the ones they HAPPENED to read at the time, I mean theirs no way they read all of the suggestions.

This is turning into a flame battle!

This is the real life Fire War....

The Braken Bard -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/11/2010 6:54:48)

I don't really see how it would work. I mean, for one, you can't link your AQW Character to your Profile like you can with MQ, AQ/WF and DF Characters. Though it would be nice to know if you are playing with a fellow forumite, it doesn't seem that big enough of a deal to deserve being a badge.

What about those of us that just want to take a break from the Forums or video games in general? That sounds awfully unfair.

What? You mean Suggestions? In AQW, people get their suggested item/s in their inventory for free (though I remember Drakonus, or darkdragonvx, saying that he couldn't use the helmet to his armour as it was Member, just like the version in the shop).

destiny_1000 -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/11/2010 7:41:33)

I think we should have a badge (i mean archievement, or....whatever) for people who have upgrade as much as their AE game's account

BlueKatz -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/11/2010 7:52:34)

We can have it after around 1000 posts :D really...not everyone do that much

ClaytonPoweredUp -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/11/2010 9:19:29)

If we really need a badge to get incentive to use the forums theirs something wrong.

BlueKatz -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/11/2010 10:02:54)

idk...however I DO believe after 1000 posts, they can't spam, more or less, they help the community, this way or another.

When first join forum, I post nooby too ^^

ClaytonPoweredUp -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/11/2010 10:36:06)

Spam still adds to your post count, so thats the flaw in that idea.

ChronoPinoyX -> RE: AQW Fourm Badge (11/11/2010 13:33:31)

Hmmm I think right now this idea will just either build up forum spam or have a lot of inactive forum accounts, both of which AE doesn't really want in a forum. I saw forums before that had some sort of achievement when they get to certain number of post counts and believe me, all of those post counts were complete nonsense.

Sorry for comparing to other forums, I am just saying that the risk (the spam and increasing number of inactive forum accounts) outweigh the benefits (the badge/achievement).

That is all ^_^
