Dracopyre Showdown!

Travel Map > Darkovia Forest > To Darkovia! > DracoPyre Legacy! > 8: Become a Dracopyre!
OR
Today's Events! > Become a Dracopyre! (Choose to follow GraceFang or NightReign) > 8: Become a Dracopyre!

If your subrace is not "Dracopyre":

«Scene: The foot of Nightreign's castle, where NightReign and GraceFang are fighting.»

(Simultaneously) NightReign: Heh heh heh... Reinforcements. You're in for it now, dear Sister. GraceFang: «You»! Just in time!!
GraceFang: What makes you think they'd ever throw in with YOU, after all you've done to Darkovia and its people?!
NightReign: "All I've done" is unite them under one banner, Sister... except for you and your feeble attempts at resistance! I recognize a thirst for power in this one, and power I can offer!
GraceFang: Power without compassion is blind thuggery! I resist your iron-fisted rule for the freedom of Darkovia!
NightReign: *hsst* What good is your vaunted FREEDOM in the face of the Devourer? I will crush your petty resistance, and unite the world!
GraceFang: You forge that I can offer power, too... Brother. Let our guest to decide their own course...
NightReign: ... Fine. I'm sure they'll choose a WINNER over you.

«Scene shifts to a "War Camp" - like area.»

Guardians can click on the potion bag to refill their potions if they have less than 5 potions on hand.

Clickies:
Cenara, daughter of Balius (who became Nightbane), has become the Dracopyre GraceFang!
Donovan, Cenara's half-brother, has become the Dracopyre NightReign!

If you're not level 70 and try to become a Dracopyre, then if you're talking to Gracefang,

Gracefang: I am sorry, friend, but your body is not strong enough to handle a transformation into a true Dracopyre. Please come back when you reach level 70.
Gracefang: However, thank you coming to me. I wish to offer you another way you can help our cause... I can grant you a lesser transformation.
Gracefang: You won't have full control of your abilities, but in time you may come to me and we can complete your transformation into a full-blooded Dracopyre!
Gracefang: Are you certain you want to become a dracopyre?
  • Yes
  • Maybe later

"Yes" brings you to the "You have chosen..." dialogue. "Maybe later" brings you to the "Talk to Nightreign/Gracefang" screen. If you try to train:

Gracefang: Sorry, but you need to be a full-blooded Dracopyre before you can learn to control and enhance your powers, and that means reaching level 70.

Or, if you're talking to Nightreign,

Nightreign: You're kidding, right? You think YOU're strong enough to be one of my dracopyres? Pfft. Come back when you hit level 70.
Nightreign: ...Although... There is ONE possibility... Hmm. Yes, I suppose you might be good for something...
Nightreign: You might not be strong enough to survive the full power of being a dracopyre, but I can give you a lesser gift...
Nightreign: Yes... You won't have full control of your abilities, but when you're strong enough, come back and we'll see if you've earned the right to be a full-blooded Dracopyre!
    Nightreign: Still interested?
  • Yes
  • Maybe later

    And training,

Nightreign: You need to be a full-blooded Dracopyre, not some weakling, before you can learn your true powers. Come back when you're level 70.

If you are level 70+ and try to become a Dracopyre, then if you are talking to Gracefang see post 2.
If you are level 70+ and try to become a Dracopyre, then if you are talking to NightReign see post 3.

  • Scakk -> RE: Dracopyre Showdown (2/2/2011 7:35:13)

  • Talk to GraceFang
If you already received DracoPyric powers from NightReign, you get the message "If you want to become one of my Dracopyres, Cure yourself of my brother's power first."

If you already received DracoPyric powers from GraceFang, then you automatically come to this screen when you access this quest.

Can you handle the power?? As a DracoPyre, you will enjoy the power of Vampires, Werewolves, and Dragons, but all of those beings and most other races will both fear and shun you. For every strength gained you will gain a weakness, but sometimes you have to make sacrifices to protect those who need your help.
    • Become a DracoPyre!
If your current Subrace is not "Werepyre":
GraceFang: I am sorry, friend, but you must first find my grandfather and become a Werepyre before your body will be able to handle the transformation to Dracopyre.
GraceFang: My father, Nightbane, couldn't transform anyone except the minions directly bound to his blood. I'm able to get around that, thanks to Dewlok...
GraceFang: His Moglin magic healed me, and aided my transformation by merging the three powers into one and stabilizing them, making me a full, true Dracopyre.
GraceFang: MY mastery is sufficient enough that I could directly transform you... but the risk of injury or death is far too great, and we don't have Dewlok's healing magic here to help.
GraceFang: I'd rather not have to try fusing all three powers in you at the same time, but if you become a Werepyre then I only need add the draconic power.

If your current Subrace is "Dracopyre", you get the message "You are already a dracopyre!"

    • Battle GraceFang

Or, if you are already a Dracopyre:
    • Train to increase your power!
If your current Subrace is not "Dracopyre":
Gracefang: Sorry, but you need to be a Dracopyre before you can learn to control and enhance your powers.

If your current Subrace is "Dracopyre":
        Dracopyre Training!

You must now travel into the night and confront your enemies! You must find a challenge worthy of a level X Dracopyre to test your abilities.

  • Scakk -> RE: Dracopyre Showdown (2/2/2011 7:36:47)

  • Talk to NightReign
If you already received DracoPyric powers from GraceFang, you get the message "Bah. We've got nothing to talk about right now. Go Cure yourself and come back."

If you already received DracoPyric powers from NightReign, then you automatically come to this screen when you access this quest.

Can you handle the power?? As a DracoPyre, you will enjoy the power of Vampires, Werewolves, and Dragons, but all of those beings and most other races will both fear and shun you. For every strength gained you will gain a weakness, but ultimately you will be one of Lore's most unstoppable creatures!
    • Become a DracoPyre!
If your current Subrace is not "Werepyre":
NightReign: What is this? A joke? You're wasting my time.
NightReign: While the shadowy rituals that completed my transformation have made me a true dracopyre, able to make others of my kind...
NightReign: Without a slow and gradual transformation via my blood over a long time, a body as pitiful as yours wouldn't handle the internal war that such power creates.
NightReign: I lack the time and inclination to waste on ghouling you and transforming you gradually, so find that pathetic Wolfwing first and trick him into giving you his power...
NightReign: Deceiving him will prove you have the character I require, and the lesser war of becoming a Werepyre will at least give you a CHANCE of surviving my great gift!

If your current Subrace is "Dracopyre", you get the message "You are already a dracopyre!"

    • Battle NightReign
NightReign: Hahaha... You can't be serious! You want to spar against ME? I hope you carry a Moglin around with you in your backpack... You'll need one!
      • Fight!

NightReign: Not a bad workout. You're lucky I held back, but you put up a good fight.
      • Okay
Or, if you are already a Dracopyre:
      • Train to increase your power!
If your current Subrace is not "Dracopyre":
NightReign: Bah. Quit wasting my time. You're not a Dracopyre, so there's nothing you can learn out there.

If your current Subrace is "Dracopyre":
          Quest Accepted!

You must now travel into the night and confront your enemies! You must find a challenge worthy of a level 0 Dracopyre to test your abilities.
