matteo234 -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/6/2011 17:01:35)

I also say as an option, as i myself want to see my own losses, or i lose my own competitiveness, and others can if they so wish, for if i want to join a decent faction. The leaders normally test your build out vs theirs anyway, but it always helped. The other reason, is because an option is the only way this will not cause outcry, or at least minimise any sort of outcry. Though i am not completely against it, there are many who are, and this gives the game a high-competitive streak, so if the whole losses thing left completely there would be a lot of people not too happy, after spending awhile to get it to a reasonable level.

The Joker X -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/6/2011 19:01:37)

I say we let the devs see this idea somehow because it doesnt seem as though they have.

Practel -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/6/2011 19:04:40)

Or you can realize that this is a video game and I am a person that plays for fun and enjoyment not to have it take over my life?

Yep.[sm=kab_smilie.gif]

Xtream cookie maker -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/6/2011 19:14:46)

I don't think the devs would agree to this. One reason is that if they were to take out the win/loss ratio then there will be no point on buying varium.

Zean Zapple -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/6/2011 20:49:20)

^That is where you are wrong... People would still want to win! Why do you win? For credits, XP, Influence, and Battle Tokens. Just because they removed the showing of loses, doesn't mean you wouldn't want to win anymore.

Chosen 0ne -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/6/2011 21:47:36)

this would be great! i could try out random stupid builds with 190 energy....
as a merc! XD

Please read this for a great opinion please
btw, speaking as a non varium player till lvl 31, i think this is a great idea, but wait my epicduel account has been through a lot. picture a lvl 25 buying armor, by selling everything he has to gte it, then buying another armor, because he thinks it looks better, thats hard o a lvl 25 to pull off, not to mention doing this while not knowing what NPCs were, and the cap was 3- at the time, so basicly poor ol me had 3000 more looses than wins, now, i almost have 1k more wins than looses, i worked very hard for those. I still support the idea, it will allow me to play the game for fun again, at lvl 31, i accidently sold everything. I had to get armor and everything again, with help from A LOT of NPC's and days, i got credits, i would spend them one weapon at a time. Do i need to even mention that i was a non varium through the days founder was being handed out, THE LEVELS 8'S HAD VARIUM! It was like being "todays lvl 27" but 20 times worse! anyone who was a nonvarium during this time will totaly agree with me. You didnt see any of us whining, we just took our looses and went with it.

anyways heres my story simplified, im not going into the time item echancements came and i accidently sold my primaries twice.(those were actully quite funny lol)

ND Mallet -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/6/2011 22:01:22)

I don't support this at all. Complaining happens because people lose a lot against the same build. Take out losses and you still have people losing against the same build. This won't do a thing for complaining since people want to win and not lose. To put it simple, if you don't win then you lose. You'll still lose but no one else will see it besides you meaning people will still complain since another build will win more times than is fair. Also, a majority of people buy Varium to get a better ratio, which will not matter anymore since no one sees it but you. That means profit goes down since people are buying less gear and using their varium on things like name changes or Faction Weapons. And like it was stated by Buffy. Many people would abuse this feature in 2vs2 since there will be those characters who will not take any fight seriously since they have no consequences. Not to mention that players who dummy will be harder to find since we'll only see their wins and not their losses.

helloguy -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/6/2011 22:29:04)

@Nd mallet ^ You said the same thing 20 times. People dont care about losing. They care about people knowing they lost.

xxmirxx -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/6/2011 22:47:21)

I 100 percent agree with you The ND Mallet Guy. its not about loss its about losing to same built or same person.

King FrostLich -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/7/2011 3:05:51)

@above:

mir, you talk alot on this forum about any certain topic yet its strange that you havent gotten a single win for 3 weeks.[8|]

Lectrix -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/7/2011 3:13:40)

Maybe an option to hide our Losses or our Entire Record from other Players? I mean, we can't just pretend we've never lost any Battles

edwardvulture -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/7/2011 3:20:37)

I think the point of this was to eliminate all permanent loses so a player won't fell so bad when losing.

Lectrix -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/7/2011 3:25:33)

Somehow, the memories of being pwned by endless Support Mercs in 2v2 never seem to fade away completely [:(]

@Below: How do you make memories non permanent?

edwardvulture -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/7/2011 3:37:43)

EXACTLY! thats why ALL loses have to be nonpermanent in game.

8x -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/7/2011 7:27:28)

Does anyone remember Angel Holocaust's last great idea(class change)? It didn't turn out so great.
But still, I kinda hope that this happes, because then I won't be obsessed with buying varium anymore xD

Silver Sky Magician -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/7/2011 7:35:22)

@ Angels

To clarify your point on why the suggestion of making the visibility of one's win-loss record an option is not good, is your premise that the person in question will still be able to see his/her own potentially undesirable record, thus at least partially defeating the purpose of such an implementation? The solution would simply be to make the win-loss record hidden from yourself as well. What do you think? Have I interpreted your argument correctly?

8x -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/7/2011 7:42:59)

I want to get rid of losses completely not hide them. We can calculate our win ratios by ourselves.

If you eliminate wins and losses (both) what would be the incentive to play?

Silver Sky Magician -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/7/2011 8:32:34)

@ Fay Beee

What I meant was losses, I just use 'win-loss record' because if I were to say 'losses' it would not be technically accurate. I should have used the term 'loss record', sorry for the confusion.

@8rlx0

You can only calculate your win ratio if you see at least two of the following: total number of battles, total number of wins and total number of losses. If you know that your win ratio is undesirable, you can hide it from yourself and others so you won't be annoyed every time you see your stat profile. It seems silly because it doesn't change the fact that you have an undesirable win-loss record, but the key is how you feel about that record. My (perhaps misguided) assumption is that if you are not constantly reminded of your record, you would not mind as much about it.

There are inherent problems with Angel's idea, as well as the suggestion that was based on it. I'm going to make a post about this later so that the community can clearly see and consider the pros and cons of Angel's idea before taking a stand. Hopefully Angel or someone else can come up with a suggestion solving most of the problems of the original idea while still encompassing its concept.

To clarify things, while I support Angel's idea, I do so with careful optimism, as should the other proponents of this. My original post was essentially a question to Angels about why she did not approve of the suggestion (it is not mine, but was made by people who had posted much earlier than me), which seemed quite viable to me, and my post above was a continuation of that question.

Angels Holocaust -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/7/2011 15:26:40)

@ 8rlx0

Class change was a great idea and a huge success to the game. It made players and Devs happy.

I don't see why everyone is misinterpreting me. I just want the loss system to be removed not hidden. Stop making the situation so complicated

@ Fay Beee

The only incentive in this game was to get wins and that was it. This game was never challenging, there was always one oped class and it will stay that way. At least if our losses get removed people won't care as much.

xxmirxx -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/7/2011 16:17:10)

above idea for class change came from Dragonfable. that when first start so sorry to say. I belive they probably took idea from Dragonfable.

Nope, they left that one up to fame.

@Angels

Why are you so against hidden vs removed? Why not let people who want to flaunt losses do it? Just wondering?

8x -> RE: I Found the Answer (4/7/2011 16:42:46)

^If the losses were only hidden people would still care about them(or at least I would), so that wouldn't change anything.
