goldslayer1 -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/1/2011 23:20:14)

actually idk about the eye sight being damaged.
i been playing games for 6 years now, and my vision is actually above 20/20 according to the doctors
i believe it was 25/20 or 20/15 not sure but it was definitely above 20/20

beastmo -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/2/2011 0:05:50)

When going for another 1vs1 medal i blacked out on my keyboard playing for long durations isnt the best for your health but people will still do it

charwelly -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/2/2011 2:30:48)

This why i never ever try for champ...
I never try to stay on for more than 3 hours

Aegis Omega -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/2/2011 4:59:31)

Master K -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/2/2011 15:06:53)

God, don't tell me this, i'll be paranoid for months.

Well, I am sort of active, espcially in the summer. If you seen me off the computer, you would never know I was an internet addict.
I'm quite healthy. Well, I certainly hope so.

IsaiahtheMage -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/2/2011 15:30:19)

I kinda agree. But I only play ED for like 5-20 min now because I am busy with summer. But even without summer I only played for like 1-2 hr so I am fine. Besides I am sure that guy had a health condition from before sitting up playing a game for 20 hrs only using the restroom and eating doesnt make you die. Unless he just sat their for 20 hrs without food or using the restroom?! Otherwise I think he still would not have died but be in bad shape.

edwardvulture -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/2/2011 16:09:16)

I was thinking of going for 2v2 with my alt, but then I remembered I wouldn't let a computer game control me for even half a day.

skeletondude -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/2/2011 16:27:02)

well i noticed that if i stay to long on the mouse my finger cramp up and it suks as it can last for hours cramped

Wandering Guardian -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/2/2011 19:04:59)

I'll point out that in all fairness taking the occasional long-play to get the daily achievement awards will NOT cause this to happen to you.

I didnt create this thread with the intention of scaring people into not playing the game anymore, or very little at all.

The person i was referring to spent many days in a row playing sometimes 12 hours a day on their xbox. So going for a long haul on occasion shouldnt be too much trouble to you, although you will probably find the day afterward that you have bad eyes and possibly a headache.

So yeah, dont take this as a literal 'OMG if i play ED i'm going to die!?!?!', just take it as a friendly warning just advising you not to go overboard.

...Sonya... -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/2/2011 20:51:40)

How To Prevent This :

Get a Life Jeesh...Everybody has freinds i guess.

This guy ovo wasnt healthy cuz comicalbiker and fay bee do play kind of always and there still living ? :D

Infinity Everlasting -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/2/2011 21:55:26)

^living conditions can vary. Just being alive doesn't mean your well.

Some people may find time management plans, 30 minute npcs with 1 hour rests in between maybe? But most people who are on the leaderboards probably are experiencing some kind of health detriment. Simply being on the computer or in front of the TV is bad for your health not even taking into account someone staying up 24 hours a day.

The daily champions are extremely horrible for your health, and I think that they should be improvised, maybe hourly achievements or 5-10 hour achievements. It is not ED's fault that players choose to obtain 100k fights with hundreds of fights daily, though I do believe that the game can be blamed for "applauding" hardcore gaming with its daily achievements.

Also, another add-on. Most people won't experience such rapid short term side-effects from heavy gaming like the guy from the article though everyone should be aware that one day, if 24 hour gaming is continued then similar health problems will appear.

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/2/2011 22:00:24)

one sad fact to point out looking at a computer screen for an extended periord of time can lead to lose of/degrading vision

not sure if that was stated before but if you go fo daily 1v1 like every other day for a motnh its possibly you could go blind

1nf4m0u5 -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/2/2011 22:42:37)

goldslayer if you do have 25/20 vision your losing ur eyesight but only a little i bet in a few years you'll need glasses cause u wont be able to see distance as well same thing happened to me but i dont wear them
And when i went for 2v2 i slept all day woke up at 12 and i was full of energy all day for some reason
Key (sleep)

Sipping Cider -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/2/2011 23:18:03)

I think it might be best if the daily awards were not over 24 hour periods. After hearing all this it scares me to think of what could happen. And i agree, loss of sleep is the main concern i have. Some times i play epicduel all night and can not fall asleep because it is daytime and this makes the next day terrible. Not being able to think straight, a slight pressure behind my eyes, constant tiredness but unable to go to sleep, and other little bothersome things.

uria9 -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/3/2011 0:15:32)

EDluyil -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/3/2011 5:04:17)

PenyihiR -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/3/2011 5:19:41)

Not only Daily/Playing Alot Bad For ur Health,
Playing ED is Bad for ur Health too..
not about Eye or what.,
But When u play ED n Battle..n the enemy got Much Luck or u get Phatetic partner on 2 vs 2,
Ur mad ratio also increase n make u FEEL MORE STRESSED n also that bad for ur health,

Dendavex -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/3/2011 6:42:01)

Well If you play computer for too long it'll affect your eyesight I started playing ED again october 2010 now I need glasses -_-

MirageD -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/3/2011 7:20:27)

not really 25/20 means im able to see what the average eye sight can see, but at a farther distance

25 is the distance i can see from
20 is the distance the average eye sight can see what im seeing?>
get it?
what the average eyesight can see at 20 feet away, i can see it just like them at 25 feet away
so i have bigger eyesight, basically i can see 25% better than 20/20
if it were 20/15 then that means i can see 33% better.

Purple112 -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/3/2011 12:47:06)

I hope no human person plays a game for 24 hours straight. The longest I'm ever on is two hours.

Mecha Mario -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/3/2011 13:20:06)

Off-topic posts removed. This thread isn't about goldslayer1's eyes. You can do that in PMs instead. Lets try to stay on topic, shall we?

When I won my daily achievements, I did take breaks, and do some exercises. If I don't stay fit, playing spots wouldn't be that much fun for me. ;)

Fatal Impact -> RE: Daily Achievement Awards: Bad for your health? (8/3/2011 23:41:32)

^ Goldslayer1 should still give his eyes a break so he wont permanantly damage them, 20/20 vision is a blessing and people who play video games like this guy obviously dont have 20/20 eyesight.

(PS: I picked this color just for you Mecha) [:D]
