The Death Trap -> Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 20:34:52)

Hey Guys i recently just got the Delta weps and i i liked it alot but there was one problem.
All the weps have 10 enhancements. So if i Enhanced all the weps i would waste 6800 varium on only 4 weps.
I think we should get more varium enstead of just 10k for the big package or we lower prices of enhancements and weps.

What do you think?

Retrosaur -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 20:49:17)

What's the point of enhancing all the weps again? There's really no point, just stick with one class. Varium pricing is okay...

At most, you only need to fully enhance the sword and the wep that pertains to your class.

The Death Trap -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 21:00:07)

well im one of those players who like to experiment with builds and classes

Please only use your sig once per page. ~Mecha

DeathSpawn -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 21:17:43)

Then you pay the fee. Also you have the credit option and if you don't have the creds then you pay the fee for that luxury :)

I've done it as well but this idea of increasing the packs that keeps popping up over and over is ludicrous. You have to remember some of us have bought a ton of varium and it would extremely unfair to us for a person that spent 200 bucks on this game to have the same amount of varium as a person that spent 600.

Retrosaur -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 21:26:38)

jocky, you can actually save money.

Simply spend about 14k creds to enhance each weps (credits first), then enhance with var. You should save a TON of var. Yes, this requires hard work.

Drago9999 -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 21:32:16)

Enhance the weapon you need. That way you can save varium.

DeathSpawn -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 21:36:28)

They just divide it out and you still spend a ton of varium btw.

Elf Priest JZaanu -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 22:02:45)

It is a quandary you have here. Don't enhance, and you are not as competitive, and if you do, regardless if it is credits (1 month hard-work per weapon) or varium, you have a chore ahead of you.

Eventually the game will add 11+ enhancements just so you can have the opportunity to get to the next tier. The devaluation of your time and money will continue.

My advise, I have none. Do with what makes you happy. In the long run, this will system fail this game and the players or there will be a system overhaul.

In my post you called it a nerf. And you are correct, since the release of the original Frostbane, ED has been on stat boost diet, and now the cliff is near. If there is a overhaul, many will quit, because they were force fed a diet that was not needed, and they became addicted to the rush of power.

Yep lets see who lasts longest and who ends up selling their kids :D

Oh wait I forgot this game is for children....Well I guess lets see who ends up being sold when their parents can't afford to pay for this game anymore and they realize it's the only way out xD

goldslayer1 -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 22:11:31)

if ur a really active player and manage to get credits easily.
do what i do, enhance ur items with 50k credits 1st (thats 6 slots) then the rest with varium.
u save over 50% if the item has a total of 8 slots. however 10 is a little bit more so u save less but ur still getting the job done.

A lot of players seem to be debating the issue of varium package price/worth, and promo items. I've thought about this awhile, and I figured the old pricing was fine before enhancements were released. However now that enhancements have been added to the game the varium pay off per package is far less useful. Enhancements also add a new incentive to buy varium, and I figure people would pay more for a fully enhanced item, rather then buy an item that's not enhanced, and then enhance it.

Here's my thoughts on how the pricing could be improved, and how they can make promos more available to everyone, yet still add an incentive to buy the highest package.

It's fairly simple, all they need to do is add a 80% varium pay off to each package offer, and have the promo weapons offered in both of the top two packages. However the top package comes with them fully enhanced*, but non enhanceable promos will only be offered in the top package. Also they could increase the credit pay off for the top three packages by 5000 credits each.*Removed this part do to possible credit inflation issues.*

The promos could still be added in game, but at an increased varium price, (to match the new varium pay off per package) however regular weapons will continue to be offered at the current price range.

Here's a chart** that will explain the difference between the current pricing/worth compared to what I'm suggesting.

--------------------------------CURRENT--------------NEW
Cost ($)--------Artix Points----Varium----Credits----Varium----Credits
$5.00-----------1000------------500-------0----------900-------0
$9.95-----------2000------------1250------0----------2250------0
$19.95----------4000------------2500------3000-------4500------3000
$34.95----------7000------------5000------8000-------9000------8000
$49.95----------10000-----------10000-----15000------18000-----15000

goldslayer1 -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 22:58:00)

@mrbones
that was never really requested enough so i think they just left it behind.
perhaps making this post once a week to keep reminding them should be good.

Algorithm -> RE: Vrium Pricing (8/1/2011 23:00:56)

I think its fine.

Shadronica -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 23:01:34)

Speaking of which ... where is Wiseman? Was he relegated to Siberia for making that thread? hehe

DeathSpawn -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 23:03:15)

Why? This doesn't work. It's obvious how this is unfair to those who have already purchased varium.

If pricing is the problem then go with the obvious solution. Lower the cost of future releases. There's no way there going to go from purchasing 10k packs to 18k and if they do they will just increase the cost of items.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 23:07:52)

@death
decreasing the cost of items would be too much work.
and if u say its unfair to increase the price for those who payed before.
would u rather get more in the future or get nothing more at all?
i rather go with 18k from now on without caring how many times i purchased varium before because it is eventually a better option to choose.

edwardvulture -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 23:09:09)

The only reason Wiseman proposed those ideas are because varium is inflating, its worth less and less. 995 for a weapon works, but not 1800 for enhancements.

ND Mallet -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 23:10:41)

@gold Titan and Nightwraith don't have the power to change the varium packages. It has to go through higher ups in the company before it has a chance to be implemented. Even if every single ED player and the Devs wanted it to happen, the higher ups can still say no to changing the packages.

DeathSpawn -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 23:10:47)

And I'd rather continue purchasing 10k :)

There's no reason for this update. They will just up the prices on future releases to cover the costs.

Far too many issues with the game atm for them to be worrying about this...

then the "higher ups" should atleast come here and have the decency to explain why.
artix never really came down here to talk to the community of ED because he's always with the AQW community. (which people say is the better game) if the leader cant come and show his face, what does that say about him? i can understand titan and NW not being able to do anything since the rights belong to artix now. but something should still be done.

we are talking about increasing the var we get without increasing prices.
or else it just be another backstab and then people would really get pissed off and quit.

And I'm telling you how it would go down in the .0001% chance that they increased it to begin with.

Also everyone here knows how much everything costs and on top of that there's an option to pay with credits for free. Weapons aren't that expensive to begin with. It seems the communities concerns are the enhancements which have a pay with creds feature which are obtainable for free.

You don't HAVE to have those few extra stats to stay competitive. It's your choice to make with the varium you purchased of your own free will.

This system works. Lets not screw up even more things with ED.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 23:22:52)

@death
there are many more varium features which could be implemented. and having higher varium per package would increase the buy rate of players.
as more varium allows them to do more things. and players want to do more things. so it would essantialy be getting the full benefits of the game while still purchasing on average like we do now.

also smart people will always use hybrid enhancements. like 50k in credits and the rest in varium.

Giras Wolfe -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 23:45:22)

Leave varium pricing the same, just reduce the cost of enhancements. They're obviously the moneydrain here.

beastmo -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/1/2011 23:57:26)

This game will drain every dime of your money i reccomend u stay one class and enhace that class weapon itll save your money and buy varium once a month good luck with testing your money.

Giras Wolfe -> RE: Varium Pricing (8/2/2011 0:01:41)

@above Only problem with that is the game will be intensely boring.

Instead of paying for features you actually WANT (class changes, new equipment, etc.) you're forced to pay for enhancements so you don't get beat up by the fully enhanced players. Enhancements are paying way too much for a whole lotta nothing, but the way this game is designed you're left with no choice. If you don't buy enhancements then you're a paying player at a 32-40 stat disadvantage to other paying players. Lowering the cost of enhancements would ease the problem enough to satisfy me, but I still wish we could kill this feature altogether, or keep it to primaries and armors only.
