Khannibal -> What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 11:32:03)

I've not been on for ages, after talking to a friend i decided to come on.

I've just checked my build as a mage and noticed my strength had gone up.
I checked the Wiki and it's shown every class that previously had it has increased it's dex by 1, which is fine, but now my mage has 9 strength, what good is that to me?
The battle mage was a terrible class, and literally was only useful with Delta equips which I can't afford any more, and on a strength build, now I spent thousands of varium class changing to and from mage's and this is ridiculous.

Baron Dante -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 11:34:51)

It was restatted as all "forms" of it are now one and same item.

I didn't like it witehr, but eh, it's no huge deal anymore. We can just outgrow the Founder by now.

Xendran -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 13:27:38)

tesla armor is the best armor in the game currently. founder got buffed technically, but now its stats suck

BloodRainbow -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 13:30:53)

they did the same think to the primary beta weapons.

now instead of my staff giving 10 dex and tech it gives 7 dex 7tech and 6 str, which i find very uncool.

ansh0 -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 13:31:30)

Yes. The founder armor was restatted, god knows why? :P

Now only the Mage armorer is "ruined" as to the merc(s) and hunters it's just a +1 dex buff.

I guess mage is now getting destroyed O.O

Basicball -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 13:32:05)

@xen: tesla and borg are at par (depending on builds)

ansh0 -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 13:34:24)

@basicball and xendran

Bunny wins as it is useful for all kinds of builds with it's varied stat placement compared to tesla's dex and and tech stat placements which are are pretty good IMHO

BlueKatz -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 14:04:42)

Since they change it this way, mean it's far easier for staff to update, mean Founder will get more update in the future i believe.

Battle Mage is bad, but really fun to play with. If you go other build then new armor still better (hum... LQS though)

daksh0 -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 14:08:14)

@ansh0:agreed

TurkishIncubus -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 14:37:52)

Yeah founder become bad for TM but now its best for all str builds in every class , and c'mon it become better , Founder with +8 dex +8 tech would be uped against Tesla with same stats and +9 but now Founder is best for all str builds :)

Tesla is best for every build but if you have Bunny its a waste of varium to buy Tesla and enhance it thats why i didnt bought it.

edwardvulture -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 18:06:29)

^I see some bloodmages use it.

redxtra -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 20:54:48)

founder armor is dieing thats whats going on

Wiseman -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 21:27:52)

The reason why the stats changed on the Beta's and the Mage Founder armor is because both of them have become single items. Before each version of the founder armor and each version of the Beta primary where separate item's but now they are each one item. Because of this they had to make the stats the same on all versions of the two items, it was unavoidable, also because of this we will see new weapons/armors in the future that work the same way as the Beta Primary and the Founder Armor.

Elf Priest JZaanu -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 22:02:33)

I am hoping the game provides players some reimbursement for their "paid" enhancements. This was not the players fault, and this is another form of devaluing of enhancements. If enhancements were never involved I don't feel this would be such a issue.

If the game decides to clean up their past decisions, hopefully they will be kind to players who invested in items like this or others that will or might be changed.

Wiseman -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 22:20:45)

Sorry Jzaanu, but I already answered that concern in the another thread. As for your second reason, this is the same issue that presented itself when I suggested the new Varium value. Meaning that if we keep trying to compensate past players because of new changes, ED wont be able to improve. The progress of ED has been halted many times by players demanding more for their money, and most of the time it's something the developers can't provide even if they wanted to. If your enhancements where reset to 0, meaning that you lost all of your enhancements due to the change, then I can discuss some form of compensation with the developers, but I can't make any promises that you will be compensated. However if you didn't lose your enhancements on those items then no compensation will be given, that's just how it has to be. (see my previous post about the Terms of Service)

If your enhancements where reset to 0, and you wish to discuss it in more detail feel free to PM me.

Angels Holocaust -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 22:27:35)

I haven't posted in a long time but I have got to complain on this issue. Your telling me that the Devs now have the right to change the stats of any weapon that we've bought? That's unfair, how do we know if there not going to do the same in the future? Changing the stat's of the founder armor only forces beta mages to either quit the game or buy new armors. I must applaud this game on their marketing skills. If the players aren't spending money on new armors or weapons than why not change the stats of their current weapons to make them obsolete? Wise decision, indeed.

aqwshadowking14 -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 22:34:54)

I was quite upset that mages got their stats mixed up. Like Angels said, is it fair to replace our stats without telling us in any way? We should at least get another armor with +9 tec and +8 sup (yush I'm greedy). :P

button33 -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 22:36:41)

Also, my two cents. If the players are discontented, hhow will they trust the devs? Who is willing to buy more varium? Because of this, players may not be willing to buy varium. Ed could be losing customers this way

Elf Priest JZaanu -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 22:40:02)

The game can move forward if it chooses to. By buffing items and introducing extra enhancement slots is not really compensating.

This game has made many errors, and players should not be responsible for it. If the game has to create a format to make is a true standardized experience, hopefully the game doesn't choose to step on the players who invested for something they thought would be permanent

The compensation doesn't even have to involve this armor. The game can add prepaid enhancements blocks if enhancements remain, and the players can apply it to any item even back into founder's armor.

TOS is something I already know, and again I appreciate it, but it doesn't involve aspect of consideration for the paying customer.

This game can make adjustments if needed, but it is their choice to do it. For players who invested 1/5 of their varium just so the game undos its past errors, so it can move forward is fine, but it just stepped on players who did make that purchase in doing so.

Bottom-line as I stated before, this is not a economic issue or balance, it is about TRUST.

Wiseman, you dont have to respond since I understand and respect the information you provided, this is basically expressing what I feel is right and hopefully it will be forwarded to the appropriate departments.

aqwshadowking14 -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 22:41:37)

@Button

Of course they could get customers. Just throw in another $50 promo with OP weps. After a month or 2 change the stats. :o

Celestine -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 22:43:51)

The stats were changed in order for future weapons/armors to work dynamically.
Weapon Mutation is a feature they're working on, but in order to do so weapons must be re-coded to work as if it was one weapon.

Stats on weapons that switched with your class needed to have the same stats. This will allow them to add more class changing items in the future.
It's really benefiting us in the end, even if it doesn't seem like it now.

Wiseman -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 22:43:59)

quote:

Your telling me that the Devs now have the right to change the stats of any weapon
They don't "now" have that right, they have had that right since the very beginning, they just now decided to use it for the first time. (actually they have done it before on certain non Varium items, but I guess nobody remembers that)

Like it or not those are the facts. I'm not trying to be your friend, I just want you to understand the facts of the matter. It's fully up to the developers to decide if players should be compensated or not, it's not up to the players, it's not up to the mods, it's not up to the government. Only the developers have the right to make that decision, and if they decide not to, then they are within their full rights because of the agreement that each of you signed when you started playing Epic Duel.

It's simply not up to me, and in this instance I'm pretty sure the developers are not gonna compensate for the change. If they where going to I would think they would have already done it by now, and I doubt there will be anymore changes to weapons like this one. They did this in order to create a whole new weapon type in order to streamline the system for mutating weapons (like the ones coming out with this next release). Look at the bright side, now if you buy a mutating weapon you are essentially getting 3 weapons for the price of 1.

That's all I have to say about the subject.

Edit: Celestine explained it very well, I think that covers what I left out. I'm done talking about this subject now.

button33 -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 22:44:40)

Yes. But after one or two times, the players would realize this and not buy more. They may get money, but it won't last

Wiseman -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (8/31/2011 23:51:45)

Actually I'm going to make a final statement on the issue of compensation.

When the founder armor and beta weapons stats where changed they both received a slight buff, that WAS the compensation for the changes. There will be no more compensation for those changes at all, I'm 100% sure of it now. Most players are satisfied with the changes and the compensation given, and we do not plan to add more buffs to the weapons to give more compensation than deserved.

You didn't lose any stats, they where just rearranged, so statistically speaking it wasn't a loss at all, it was a change. Therefor, statistically speaking the slight buff that the items received where all the compensation that was needed for a change. If it was a nerf then it would be a different story, but it wasn't since nobody lost any stats, they just had the stats adders moved to a new location.

That's a statistical fact, and I don't plan to change my view on the matter.

Below: I believe in this case they plan to add a high number of the weapons to the shop and close the shop after dragon con, I suppose it will be limited but it shouldn't sell out too fast. (that's assuming that I am correct, as I'm not 100% sure)

InceptionAE -> RE: What happened to the Founder Armour? (9/1/2011 0:02:47)

3 weapons for the price of 1? And the mutating weapons are LQS? I'm getting tired of ED and LQS. =.= all the best items are LQS why not Limited time only?
