Did I mention Defense Matrix?

+30 defense?

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: Too Much Luck? (9/26/2011 20:36:46)

i did a scientific investigation of 50 battles(50 wins) in the arcade and my prize rate is 15% this is my most current investigation anyone from EDF can tell you i did more of these tests than is healthy for a gamer and my results have always been lower then the 26.4% drop rate by around 7%

Stabilis -> RE: Too Much Luck? (9/26/2011 20:37:14)

I'll comment on 2 iffy issues. Being a turn based game, it is imperative in EpicDuel to have one person start first to even begin a fight. But we justify the means by using support as the root of first turn chance. It SHOULD be so players with a higher support start before their enemy.

The other is how you discover luck to truly be. This is more associated with balance and will be swallowed by the ED Balance Thread when the next moderator investigates.

Joe10112 -> RE: Too Much Luck? (9/26/2011 20:38:03)

@^: This is kinda different than balance thread, this is about being lucky in almost EVERYTHING in ED, not just fights.

Stabilis -> RE: Too Much Luck? (9/26/2011 20:39:06)

^ Yet being an official thread it was meant to encompass all of EpicDuel's angles. [:-]

Joe10112 -> RE: Too Much Luck? (9/26/2011 20:42:49)

Oh, okay. Since all we talk about are builds, I assumed it was restricted to only builds.

Merge threads or delete this please.

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: why is this? (9/26/2011 20:43:37)

As this build is not very mainstream we should not have to worry now once it goes mainstream we can worry about it or if the rules are changed so we can now focus on two subjects at once which the current discussion system does not support

Anyway the build, becuase of its high support cost, is easy to counter and for right now does not stand much chance againt the current builds ruling the power monarchy

State Alchemist -> RE: why is this? (9/26/2011 20:51:02)

A easy way to fix the OP that is tact merc?
Simple..or at least for support spamming tact merc....
Make deflect a function of TECH.
I am a lvl 33 Blood mage. These guys CONSTANTLY deflect everything I throw at them.
Make deflect a function of tech and they will be better balanced

*Nova* -> RE: Too Much Luck? (9/26/2011 20:57:18)

Overview from the Players-
ED: Tests your Luck
AQW: Dress-Up Worlds
HS: Dress-Up Worlds (alternated version)

Stabilis -> RE: why is this? (9/26/2011 20:58:35)

We should stop nerfing and start buffing
quote:

our health and energy above 150
our classes in general as well. So many people dying so quickly, they need rage. The more requirements and nerfs you try to lay on tlm you'll start sending them over to our exclusive cyber hunters family (and we don't want you mindless players overtaking our class). Buff every other class but remember tech mage, bounty hunter, mercenary... should be below blood mage, cyber hunter, and tactical mercenary.

DeathGuard -> RE: why is this? (9/26/2011 22:34:25)

Joe so you stated support mage is Op'ed, and how many builds for bh and tlms are not oped? Answer me that[8|].
Also being such risky as that, putting all stats on sup doesn't mean they never lose. I almost always win to them with caster builds or using unblockables. It also depends on the build you use, your build has it weakness and it is weak to a certain type of build: sup build, maybe you can do some adjustments to increase your chance of winning.

Joe10112 -> RE: why is this? (9/26/2011 22:37:27)

@^:

BH build that is OP? STR Build? Still loses to SUP mages. Anything else?
TLM are just OP, we all know that.

DeathGuard -> RE: why is this? (9/26/2011 22:41:21)

Seems you haven't played for a long time, try str build with bh vs a support mage and say me results. Prove it by yourself not by other's opinion. Prove me that I'm wrong. The logistic saids to me and my eyes too, that a str build with bloodlust plus smoke can get them kiss the floor to sup mages. Even with def matrix, they always carries a energy gun ( the str bh) in case of that if you didn't know. Also TLM do the same as Bh.

Joe10112 -> RE: why is this? (9/26/2011 22:44:28)

@^: I've tried already. My friends (ansh0 and dash0, one of them is a SUP mage). Simply, I lose. I'm a STR bh.

And I'm the one who started "SUP mages are a little OP" btw. So it's my own opinion :P

Shao Kahn -> RE: why is this? (9/26/2011 22:45:59)

I don't think the purposes of the evolved classes was to overtake the old ones... I thought it was to offer a more energy or physical alternative to said class... My dream is for mercenary to overtake tactical again someday...

DeathGuard -> RE: why is this? (9/26/2011 22:49:25)

The purpose of it was to give more variety of skills and be creative with them, but seems they didn't get the message.
@Joe10112: I will respect your opinion of tech mages. As I said before, I suppose you got some adjustments on mind for your build to make it more effective. It happens to me often.

Shao Kahn -> RE: why is this? (9/26/2011 22:52:21)

Personally I think if tactical is balanced a bit here of there bounties, techs, bloods, and mercenaries will begin to flow back into the player pool. Cyber hunters have always seemed to be a class that takes extra effort for extra reward so many don't bother.

DeathGuard -> RE: why is this? (9/26/2011 22:54:34)

I agree with you Shao, it requires time and many thoughts going on it(focus) to be good with it, same goes for tech mage.

Joe10112 -> RE: why is this? (9/26/2011 22:57:37)

I'm not saying Tech Mages are terribly OP, I'm just stating that their stats can just flow into one stat and they'll have a pretty good build.

It might just be because I'm a BH so every other class looks great, (and vice versa I believe).

When no evolved classes, it was a loop.

BH > Mage, Mage > Merc, Merc > BH.

Now we have TLM > (all classes, most of the time)

Shao Kahn -> RE: why is this? (9/26/2011 23:11:28)

Let's just get rid of hybrid on tactical... replace it with blood shield.

Joy -> Advantages For Lower Levels? (9/26/2011 23:16:55)

Do you guys think lower level players have more luck when versing higher level players? I believe so, and here was one of my recent experience on this issue.

Recently, I have fought a level 28 non varium tech mage, while I was a level 33 varium cyber hunter. While I was battling, he has critical me, and blocked me as well. I was only able to do two attacks on the tech mage. Then he happen to blocked my last attack, which left him with 4 HP. I thought I was going to beat him, but to my surprise, he use Bludgeon that deal 29 damage. I had Defense Matrix on when he used Bludgeon to finish me off.
He had Around 50 Health And Estimated around 48 Energy

I had Around 70Hp and around 65 Energy

Here is the Screenie i took at the Battle.

Nub Apocalypse -> RE: Advantages For Lower Levels? (9/27/2011 0:13:04)

Well I notable observation I made is that when in a 2vs2 battle, if there are 3 lvl 33s and 1 lvl 28, the lvl 28 will no matter what always get the first move.

ND Mallet -> RE: Advantages For Lower Levels? (9/27/2011 0:17:39)

On-Topic: I don't mind having a lower level player get lucky on me. I have an alt and I know how much of a pain it can be when you're fighting a higher level with varium. I've been in just about everyone's shoes on this game and I remember just about every difficulty.

My Name is Jake -> RE: Advantages For Lower Levels? (9/27/2011 0:24:04)

@Nub Apocalypse That's because player of a lower level have a higher chance to start first to give them a better chance at winning. Players 4-5 levels lower than your level will almost always start first. It's in the DNs somewhere.

Adam in Wonderland -> RE: Advantages For Lower Levels? (9/27/2011 1:47:41)

@ND

He doesn't even have armor! Come on. Look at the equipment on the lvl 33, beta gun, founder armor, shark aux, etc. The gap in stats is huge even without the level difference. This is beyond luck. To pretend that there are not ways to cheat is a little naive to me. And you admit awareness of the rage hack, which again proves my point... Some Players CHEAT. Let's pretend a lvl 28 non-varium with average weapons and no armor beat a founder with full varium who is 5 levels higher through luck and skill. Either this was a staged loss or a cheat win. How can you not see that? But without the players build stats I guess it is harder to determine. Many players have lamented on the luck factor of the game and will continue to do so.
