Master Volcon -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/27/2011 16:10:13)

I agree with Gold Slayer on a lot of his ideas and view points.

I understand that it is a lot harder for someone to work their way up and get wins without varium, however there is always an option to get money.
-You can mow lawns if you are a child
-You can baby sit your siblings
-You can do extra chores to get allowance

After doing that stuff all it takes is a bit of saving and you can get a 50$ Pack.

Yet at the same time, people who work hard for there money (IE: Real Life Job) it is hard to see Non Variums get so many perks (IE: Assault Bot/Near Varium Armors - Hazard Husk) when we paid over 1/10 of our 50$ package towards nearly the same thing.

To fix all these problems I don't know if you remember from the old ED forums but a poll was set up to see if the community would like a Membership Policy instead of a Varium Policy. It would work like AQW, most varium items would be member only and the seasonal or limited ones would be varium (IE: AQ Coins).

Overall the community really liked the idea at the time and I hope that the thought of it has not yet died off.

It would make everyone satisfied.

Just set your mind to endless fighting in the noob zone(I.E. not Epic Server) and your credits jump up pretty fast. You can also throw some tokens into the Arcade for the first 15 minutes of an hour and last 15 minutes of an hour because alot of high levels get their NPC's in in that time frame

Laces -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/27/2011 16:13:24)

@Goldslayer

People lack time to play this game. You know why? Because if you want to get anywhere in life, you have to get good grades and a good SAT score? Understand that. Right lets move along. In order to do that, you need to study. You have school for about 7 hours and many people like me get out around 2-3 pm. We do our homework and study. We have sports. We have lessons to attend to. Its around 9-10 pm when people finally finish. There too exhausted to mindlessly play this game at 10. Especially for non-variums who are at a clear disadvantage to varium players and have trouble winning.

People don't have the free time you have to play 4 hours a day. They don't have the OP'd TLM class to easily farm kills 4 hours a day. Hell, they don't have the time to play at all. Now lets say we take your advice and farm an hour a day (supposedly having the time). The average is about 25-30 kills an hour. And the goal is 50k credits.

30 x 32 = 960 credits an hour. 50,000/960 = 52 hours = 52 days (because its an hour a day). And thats excluding buying new items at every level, spending them on boosters, retraining, enhancements etc. With all that delay, you would have an approximate of 2-3 months for the average non-varium player to change class. Now do you honestly think they're going to stick around for 2-3 months on the same class when they're being put down by almost every varium player they face?

And to your "get a job" argument, most non-variums are under 16. Even if they're above, their parents won't let them pay for this game nor let them do offers to get varium. Therefore, the price needs to be dropped. You should not have to constantly pay varium to change to a class you already changed to before. Credit prices per battle needs to increase slightly to around 40-50 credits.

Matrix77 -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/27/2011 16:21:39)

I agree with the fact that 50k of credit for class change is an OKAY price for class changing as it is right now mainly because I definitely do not want to see more tlm non-vars, the tlm vars are already roaming the game along with a whole lot of other tlm non-vars, Out of 10 2vs2 battles I play, 9/10 or if not 10/10 always contains a tlm, sometimes, I end up being the only player that isnt a tlm. tlm class is already being abused, lowering credit prices would just make it even more abuse. Also class changing the way I understands it is to choose a class you like and want to work with, changing class is a decision that should be made after having care thoughts about, not just randomly changing from class to class like there is no end to it, its just annoying to see when players jump from class to class. I can understand those who have varium and lots of credits doing this as they have the cred/var to waste/use as they please, but those who don't should just work for it and when they finally have sufficient cred to class change, then pick their choice. imo, it feels much more rewarding to work hard to earn all those creds and finally able to do a class change as it makes one feel as though they've accomplish something great. Getting 50k isnt an easy task for many players and to be able to do that, makes one feel accomplish so i strongly believe the 50k for class change is okay

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/27/2011 16:23:55)

@Laces i got to ask what level of schooling your in as im in high school taking two college level classes and still have plenty of time for ED, AEF and my side project or Skyrim(yes Skyrim takes up all of my free time if i sit down to play it) plus my sports team(which meets during the late night Power hour [:o]) so trust me broski it is not a stretch to ask you 15 NPC's in your free time or between pieces of homework so you can refresh your mind.

In fact when my faction actually runs(when i care to make it run) most of my players get online and work 100+wins monday-friday because of the piece of homework, NPC, piece of homework tactic

For the record im defending no one im stating that it is possible to get 15-30 wins daily if not more even with the bother that is school

my school is 10 hours a day. plus another hour of walking to school and back home (1.5 miles away)
ontop of that im a heavy sleeper. yesterday i went to sleep around 5 in the afternoon and woke up the next day at mid day (19 hour sleeper) on weekdays i sleep 8-10 hours. and i work out every day for an hour. yet in the end i still manage to do 150-200 wins when i try.

and if they do so great in school im sure their parents wouldn't mind giving them $50 bucks a month for this game.

can we not bring balance into this? i played as a CH and got around 94% and about 40 wins an hour
i played as a str BH and usually 95%-98% with about 35-45 wins an hour.
i have not tried tech mage for a long period of time since the release of stun guns but i see tech mages get 40 wins an hour with 95%-98% aswell.

Hell, they don't have the time to play at all.

and they have time to complain? thats just not right.
they dont have time to play a game but yet complain about it and want something done.

dont let them do offers? dont let them get a job? i dont know of any parent that dont itch for their children to get a job.

prices being dropped (as i stated earlier) i agree on. and i always thought credit amount should be based on lvl.

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/27/2011 16:34:53)

@Gold price based on level may not be a good idea my lv 15 merc is loaded because RNg love in the arcade(lots of 50 and 100 prizes) so i may be able to buy TLM for my lv 15 merc no problem and yet have to crank out way more on OWA just to become a blood mage simply because he is an older account and thus higher leveled

Laces -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/27/2011 18:30:46)

@OWA

I'm in high school. But trust me, I barely have enough time. Maybe your class difficulty is less then mine or maybe your a freshman/sophomore/senior? Junior year is the hardest year. No I understand that 15-30 wins is possible, but it would take far too long if you did 15-30 wins a day. Thats my point.

@Gold

If you have all that...I'm confused on how you really get those 200 wins a day :/

Also, I didn't say that the parents don't want children to get a job, but the children are under 16 and therefore cannot legally get a job. And yes, parents don't let their kids do offers, because they don't want to give information to third parties. That is understandable as they don't know if the third party is trustworthy or not and would rather play it safe.

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/27/2011 18:33:45)

@Laces maybe you just study i hear that is a big time waster

in the winter when i was around 10 years old me and a cousin of mine would go in the neighbor hood plowing Drive ways.
we made like $10 for each of us. and only took about 20 minutes to plow.

at my high school there is a program called NAF. basically kids with high grades can join it.
it has alot to do with technologies. they use tech, make tech, and fix tech.
they also get paid by the school board when the fix computers.

as for the third party thing. use fake info. and do mostly surveys.

Stabilis -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/27/2011 18:45:33)

If you have a lot of free time to play this game but because of its quality you might only play to a certain degree of vigour and then your credit intake is lower. That said, you would need a very strong drive to play super enthusiastically on ED.

Being a slower browser game, I haven't met many hardcore gamers outside of the leaders.

Renzan -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/27/2011 20:23:38)

30k for class change seems very reasonable to me. Not everyone spends hours a day playing Epicduel. I myself get 1hr a day IF I'm lucky. I don't get much on weekends either as I have so many extra things. And throw in the fact that at higher levels 25+, you can only win maybe half your battles if your non-varium.

Midnightsoul -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/27/2011 21:04:02)

i agree with greenrain

ngshuyi94 -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/27/2011 21:32:11)

Firstly, let me make a fair statement: We, as non variums, should be thankful that we have this class change feature as it was previously available only to the the varium players.

However, 50k may seem too large an amount as it will require us to save up alot and some may neglect the release of new and more powerful weapons just to change class.

This class change credit price problem is ultimately the problem caused by the very little amount of credits we receive from battles, because some even have problems purchasing weapons alone.

For me i have 90k credits atm and have already class change once. So idk, like PD said, we must also think from the perspective of others.

Also, nowadays, im sorta inactive so it seems like my amount of credits is stuck at 90k. Lol. I obviously wouldnt mind the class change credit price being lowered but i am fine with the current price, i guess, and i also think that if that is the case, it would be fair if they also lower the varium price, maybe.

Stabilis -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/27/2011 21:34:35)

@Blood,

Thanks lol [8D]

nico0las -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/27/2011 22:09:33)

I, who has switched using credits on 4 occasions, can tell you that the amount of time it takes you to regain those 50 000 credits is the amount of time it takes for you to learn how to use the class. After switching to cyber hunter, I thought it was terrible. Fortunately, I had no choice but to make 50 000 credits all over again (I was short on varium at the time). Now, with 70 000 credits, I can't actually bring myself to switch classes, I love it too much.

50 000 is great because you learn how to use the class without a choice. It's hard to make, yes, but you actually LEARN something, whilst with varium, all I learned was how to blow cash.

FrostHS -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/27/2011 22:24:50)

Unsupported. There is enough non var TLM's out there, we don't need anymore.

Luna_moonraider -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/28/2011 3:20:46)

No the credit prices for class change are ok imho and it does not need changing at all. it prevents class hoppers in the non var community. class hopping is sooo common in the varium community so i do not want the non var to just take the easy way out and class hop to the oped class. 50k credits also make a reason for the varium users to use varium to class change because it is hard to farm 50k and it is way easier to just use varium. varium used=devs get money. if they lower the credit prices the devs will get lesser money. lesser money=crappy f2p releases and more p2p stuff and i m sure people do not want more p2p stuff. because more p2p stuff = p2p become stronger and the gap increasing.

drinde -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/28/2011 3:22:27)

Wait. Credit Price reduced, is it? So how about half the price in Credits + 2500 BattleTokens as a third option? [:)]

Luna_moonraider -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/28/2011 3:28:46)

@drinde

lolz wats with u and tokens. i seen u post about tokens as a solution in many threads. (i know y cause tokens are not used so often)

why not just add the 2500 tokens to all class change now to prevent those annoying class hopper XD. eg 50k+2500tokens to class change 900 var +2500 tokens to class change.

drinde -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/28/2011 3:33:30)

@Luna

Oooh, good idea. But maybe 900 Varium and 500 Tokens, and 50K Credits and 750 Tokens. And yep, the reason is correct.

whatever works best for u.
but i was referring to 1 vs 1 players

Hallodeath -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/28/2011 4:05:03)

^ Oh lol,should have told me.

But for a non var (not pro) it takes hell lot of time.

Gepard Acht -> RE: class change cred price reduced (11/28/2011 4:09:05)

^please not tokens, barely have any and for a non-var 50 k isnt exactly difficult , one or two weeks would probably enough
