everytime someone makes a build it gets copyed for example supercharge. people should make one up for themselves or get a freind whos good with builds and help create a new one

Supercharge builds are not new, they were around long ago. Also not new are the copycats that can't think up a build of their own.

Build proliferation depends totally on the perception of that build and that class. TM's have been starving for a good build since the TlM dominated them.
This is the current answer but I doubt it's the best or the only answer.

We have that already, it's called "Epic Dueal Compendium" located here and works perfectly.

i suggested how to fix this problem before.
remove the option of being able to see enemy build. and tadda build copying stops.

in a real fight against an enemy u dont know, u wont know what he's capable of.
but here in ED apparently u do.

On topic: Dont show the skill levels, just show what skills the opponents are able to use.

that still allows build copying.

the best solution is to completely not be able to view enemy build at all.
people say its bad because of u cant see enemy strategy. THATS THE POINT OF IT.
people say its bad because u cant see enemy def/res. IF U WERE ANY SMART u would be prepared for that.
people say its bad because they dont like it. doesn't matter if u like it or not. it will bring and fix balance by almost 90%. and only then will true build strategist shine.

Just dont show skill tree and just show ur weaps damage and def stats to know what strategy to use... SURPRISE FACTOR might put the game more interesting and strategic imo.

only thing that should be shown is hp and energy.
and as for items, if u cant tell what element(physical or energy) it is from what the item looks like then thats ur fault
altho there are enhancements, u can already get a close assumption of what the enemy build is.

even then if he did, he still wouldn't know how to use it.

i mean thats my view of it. but if the devs did decide on just hiding skill lvls while showing the rest then ill settle for something rather than nothing.

Blame the TLMs for copying str builds when there are far more build options for them. SuperCharge build is about the only one mages can use, so you can't blame us for copying it?

dude seriously blaming tlms for something PEOPLE do?
its the people's choice to copy. not tlms.
if this was implemented before delta started, Q_Q like u would never be complaining.
how i kick myself in the b........ for not spamming the suggestions with this -.-

also there are more builds for tech mage.
use ur brains for something aside from complaining and be creative.

@Goldslayer!: Supercharge build is the best right now for mages, that gives a chance to TM to beat TLMS. Too bad tlms always crit, deflect, stun without they having high support. IS like you say that tlms don't use STR build since you said this:

1. Not being able to tell their strategy can be bad.
2. How can you be prepared for the unknown?! That makes no sense.
3. How will that fix balance? Infact that would ruin it even more. Because we would go into battle blind having to rely on luck to help us threw the way. Due to the fact preparing your build for any other type of builds is useless since you never know what type of build your opponent will have. So IMO I do not agree. And can not possibly see how going into battle blind and relying on luck even more can fix balance and improve it. And allow the "true build strategist" to "shine".

Maybe if you look into the reasons people do build copy, you can solve the build copying problem?

They don't do it because they can, obviously. They have a reason just like everyone else here.

The reason for many TMs to switch to a SuperCharge build is because other builds do NOT work, unlike what goldslayer claims. If we use a strength build, TLMs got smoke and hybrid to counter it. Using a tech build, we die before we get to use plasma bolt twice, and many don't even have a robot. If we use a support build, TLMs will just spam smoke, strike, frenzy, double, etc. However, dex build is the counter build for str builds, and SuperCharge improves with dex so...

That's not the point; I didn't even talk about builds in particular, nor did I even talk about a build - I asked a one sentence question. though your personal anecdote is amusing.

However, what I ask for is the question of why people copy builds. Do we copy builds because we can, or do we fear losing?

1) maybe for someone who has abad build.
2) make sure ur build is good and can counter many things.
3) no buddy, it would fix it. because one the balance update come. tlm and all other class would have new skills and re arranged skill trees.
i can almost guarantee u that if another good build is found for any class, people will switch to it. and that will ruin balance even more.
how do u think tlms spread? because of build copying. when delta started i dont remember ever seen str tlms. it was mostly support and heal loopers. i made a couple of str builds and it turned out to work well.
a couple days later str tlm has been seen in battle alot more.

it would allow true strategist to shine, because if build copying never existed. tech mage would have never been nerfed after heal looping.
we wouldn't have focus, or agility. (maybe focus but probably not agility) and players like xendran would still be using heal loop build to dominate in the battlefield today.
how u ask? because if build copying never happened, the class would never be seen as "OP". only the player using it would be seen as him having an extremely good build. and the maker being good with builds.

Why do you care if people copy builds. You know why you created a build and how to use it. They'll have to figure out your build and figure out how to use it and at what time to use what skill. They won't necessarily have the same weapons as you as well so they'll have to think and adjust there build to fit there requirements and your build requirements.

if i made a good build i wouldn't want it to be copied.
would u? well if u do then thats ur problem.

@gold I never have problems with people copying my builds. I've seen builds sorta resembling mine but never a real close copy and never the same strategy. Rare items help out a lot in your builds if you don't want copiers.
