Battle Elf -> Enhancements. (12/1/2011 14:11:32)

Does anyone else find enhancments a little rage inducing? To get 10 extra points, I have to pay 1,700 varium Even it the weapon i'm using only cost about 1,000 varium. I know there is a credit option as well but the to fully enhance a weapon only using credits cost over 100,000 credits

I know many people will disagree with me on this, but I think that enhancements should not have to be payed for
Example: I get a weapon and it already has 4 enhancements on it, I can redistribute them to fit my current build.

So here are my questions:

1) How heavily do you rely on enhancements?
2) What would be a fair price of enhancements be?
3) Do you ever thing pre-paid enhancements will come to EpicDuel?

Thanks guy, I'd love to know your opinions :)!

My Name is Jake -> RE: Enhancements. (12/1/2011 14:23:22)

I think a fair price for enhancements would be 50 varium per enhancement. 10 enhancements would cost 500 varium.

Battle Elf -> RE: Enhancements. (12/1/2011 14:44:26)

I like the idea of them all being the same price.

wonderful idea jake would help me save ALOT of money

Enhancements are non favorable to me. This game never needed them, yet without them now, it is very difficult to compete. Regardless of how they are obtained, it is work and makes this game very unenjoyable from my perspective.

My personal inventory has continued to grow in non-enhanced items or partially. Players who choose to enhance with Varium will continue to pay more as the tiers take more points to reach.

Will this game address this issue, likely never. Until more features are introduced beyond weapons, giving the "advantage" for players who wish to double dip, it is the only option now.

I will never enhance by varium. Sadly players loose their investment faster thinking this is what needs to be done to compete.

This by-far is my most disliked feature in this game.

The more Varium you pay, the more advantage one has.

Battle Elf -> RE: Enhancements. (12/1/2011 16:05:34)

@JZaanu I agree with most of your statement but I do disagree when you say

I feel that as the game progresses that there will be new features for weapons. For example, because of Rainaka's idea, the Harvest Weapons used a special attack, I assume that in the future there will be a special feature regarding enhancments.

For example:

You buy the 50$ varium package and get a new weapon that comes with 4 free enhanment slots.

On the other hand I do agree that the chances of the cost declining are slim.

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: Enhancements. (12/1/2011 16:50:04)

My main beef with Enhancements is that to fully enhance a F2P piece of gear it costs an arm and a leg and yet we don't get a cent of it back .

My point and case is my CarrierZooka has 2 extra points on it and is still worth 6250 credits to a 50% sellback NPC, and yet ive spent more then it is worth on Enhancements and it is worth the same as a normal one

Battle Elf -> RE: Enhancements. (12/1/2011 18:32:49)

@OWA Personally for me, I never ever enhance a item unless I'm going to use it for a epic build, I also try to never sell weapons (Ones that I have bought, not mission received), but the fact that enhancements are not considered in sell-back is a giant problem.

Remorse -> RE: Enhancements. (12/1/2011 21:22:54)

I agree,

But its not just teriable prcing that makes enahcments bad,

Enhacements lead to piling without disadvanatges, back in beta if you wonted to pile youd have to ahve extremey bad defences and lowish HP,

Thanks to enhacments people can pile have high defence and HP,

Thats why the devs had to create agialty and then soon after they made enhacments on all wepons diminishing returns stats, which basically counteracted the work of the xtra enhacments meaning we got nothing extra out of it except empty pockets.

Not only that but it singlehandly ruined balance,

I didnt think the devs greed would allow them to keep this teriable feature for so long,
Or perhaps they are so drowned in its profits they dont see the issues it has caused.

Remorse Less.

rej -> RE: Enhancements. (12/1/2011 21:27:25)

i very much agree with the 50 var, 5k credit per enhancement idea. it would be much more reasonable, without being to cheap. And please, don't give me the meaningless drivel about how 'people will complain if they don't get refunded.'

Remorse -> RE: Enhancements. (12/1/2011 21:47:47)

^ AGreed and its honestly not hard to refund people,

Just add an ENHACMENTS SELL BACK

Of 90% for all old enhacments prices before new ones are placed.

Sipping Cider -> RE: Enhancements. (12/1/2011 22:28:18)

Enhancements are really expensive and make things hard for non-varium players.

Enhancement sell back or just less expensive would be great.

axiel -> RE: Enhancements. (12/2/2011 1:08:20)

maybe about half the actual wepons price or 1/4th of the weps price.. :)

drinde -> RE: Enhancements. (12/2/2011 1:15:30)

^
Thats way too cheap.

Maybe 3/4...

kittycat -> RE: Enhancements. (12/2/2011 1:21:30)

Enhancements is what made Diminish Returns.
Enhancements is what stopped creativity
People abused Enhancements.

Formerly, 76 was 28-34, but now, since people were abusing it, it was lowered to 26-32. What a disaster.

Well Enhancements do serve a point in making your gear powerful, but eventually, the gear becomes garbage.

Remorse -> RE: Enhancements. (12/2/2011 6:15:02)

What some people dont understand is.

ENAHCEMNETS DO NOT!! Make your wepons better.

If everyone adds enahcments onto wepons all that happens is the average amount of stats are higher whcih have lead to this abuse and have also caused LUCK to be so infulencing.

Unfortuately Not all can afford enahcments so all this feature does is increase Varium non varium gap AND CONSTANTLY RIP PEOPLE OFF! while at the same time ruin balance!!

WHY OH WHY HAS IT NOT BEEN REMOVED OR AT LEAST REDUCED THE IMPACT OF THIS TERRIABLE FEATURE!

Wootz -> RE: Enhancements. (12/2/2011 6:28:24)

I got like 10 enhancements, I don't really too much then.

Battle Elf -> RE: Enhancements. (12/2/2011 10:48:07)

If you have 4 items that you can put enhancements on, (Primary, Sidearm, Auxiliary, Armor) and for each one you can put lets say 6 skill points. That adds up to 24 points. So say you have 30 dex in your build, thats it. Thats about 10-12 defense, if you put all 24 points in dex, you add on 8 defense points. Your now up to 18-20 defense. That takes 8 damage away from an attack, I think thats a giant advantage over not using enhancements.

Luna_moonraider -> RE: Enhancements. (12/2/2011 14:21:23)

well i would use only credits even if i have lots of varium because i rather spend the varium to buy new weps. varium is kinda expensive so better save it than waste it.

Battle Elf -> RE: Enhancements. (12/3/2011 10:43:05)

But @Luna_moonraider I could never save up to buy 10 enhancements :|

Wraith -> RE: Enhancements. (12/3/2011 13:24:15)

^Lol, but Luna has TONS of credits!

T.600 -> RE: Enhancements. (12/6/2011 20:26:45)

I have an idea which could act as a temporary solution. Remorse has suggested something similar in the past. You should be able to switch enhancements between weapons. So if I bought 10 enhancement slots for a primary, I could just add 10 slots to any primary. Of course, if it has less enhancement slots, you can only add as many slots as it has. The same applies for guns, auxillaries and armours. Say I bought 10 'Armour Slots'. I could then had a maximum of 10 slots onto any armour I wanted to equip. This actually encourages people to buy different weapons and experiment with different weapon and build combinations instead of being restricted to one build which utilises your fully enhanced equipment. This is considering the people who don't have a lot of credits and those who don't buy varium very often. I think it would work, what do you think?

goldslayer1 -> RE: Enhancements. (12/6/2011 20:40:00)

@t.600
i suggest this a long time ago, of having enhancements (i called it blocks) blocks and be able to switch them from weapon to weapon or armor to armor. this way u dont need to completely buy 8-10 slots for every weapon u have and would allow u to buy more weapons overall and experiment more.

FrostHS -> RE: Enhancements. (12/6/2011 20:41:16)

Just totally take out enhancements forever. Then give us our credits/varium that we spent back. Problem solved, the game was much better without them.

Laces -> RE: Enhancements. (12/6/2011 20:54:36)

Since there is a very low chance that enhancements will be removed completely, this is what needs to happen:

1. Make enhancements removable. If you want to take enhancements off a weapon, you should get at least 90% of the varium you gave back.
2. Make enhancements much cheaper. Right now the Devs are being greedy and upping the prices although I'm not sure if those prices are entirely up to them.
3. If option #1 doesn't happen, make weapons give a better sellback for credits and varium. Gives varium back only if weapon is varium still and for credits, it ups the credit price of that weapon. It makes sense for an upgraded version of a weapon to sell for more then the normal verion.
4. Keep the enhancement limit at 10. DO NOT increase it.
