@ND
I'm not even going to bother

Lycus -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 12:14:18)

Let me just say this to those who think that the Devs just want money:

All the money earned through EpicDuel goes to Artix Entertainments as a company, Titan, NW, Hudelf and Char each have a set pay, so it does not matter how much the game produces, because it won't effect their pay what so ever. The game does need to earn enough to cover the server costs, band width and many other hidden costs involved in running a game, then plus an additional amount to make a profit, because this game is a business, it's their living, they have to make money, like every other business.
If Artix Entertainments were so interested in money, they would not be giving such large amounts of it to charity, they would not be giving away 200 AC's to every member in AQW, they wouldn't be doing half the things they do now, each game would probably have worse servers that would cost less to have online etc. they're a business, they have to make money, but Artix Entertainments certainly are not obsessed with making money, the amount they give away, the amount of offers they do, and the amount of stuff they give away for free shows this.
Another thing is that Titan, NightWraith etc. do not decide on the prices of Varium, this is a company decision. So moaning at them to change it won't do anything, and neither will moaning at the company on a whole.

Lord Loss... -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 12:17:55)

Well if we are talking armors then i think instead of a Yeti armor a warrior santa armor wud be better :P

frogbones -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 12:22:02)

BS.

So Lycus, you're basically just telling us to shut up and take it. Awesome. The fact that you're associated with ED and you posted that is contemptable despicable pathetic transparent fanboyish lame.

You're right about one thing, though. Artix does have a right to make as much money as they want. But you know what? The other side of that coin is that the consumer gets to call them out. You can't have it both ways.

If they choose to be greedy and unprofessional, you dang better believe their gonna get an earful.

Fay Beeee -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 12:23:15)

That would be nice. lol
I like red. :)

Little Santa jacket with a nice sparkly belt. Hood with white fur. Short red trousers with white fur.
I could live with that . LOL

Santa ClawZz -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 12:24:31)

Yes, Santa armor is better. +1 to Lord.

@Lycus
AE doesn't work for their ACs, so giving them out doesn't cost them anything. It's a marketing strategy so players buy another 200-500 ACs in order to buy an armor, because with 200 they can't do anything. Also, offers are sponsored, not paid by AE. Anything they give away is free, no hard work to mine varium or ACs. [:)]

Dendavex -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 12:24:55)

@Lycus
Are you trying to make everyone quit this game?

Lord Nub -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 12:27:20)

Agreed with frogbones.

I really don't like that post by Lycus at all tbh. Comments like that will work surely on teenagers but one thing ED should realize by now is that this game is played by an older community as well. Posts like that are merely used as a coverup and as such, creates flame from the community.

For one AC's are like crack to children. Once they get a taste they can't get enough then beg their parents for more. That's running a business basics right there.

Also charity is the same nonsense. If it's truly charity then why advertise it? Yeah...

Horrible decision Lycus. Should bring that one down.

So... Let's say Noone buys Varium not for 1 month but for a year straight... You still think they'll earn as much as they do now??

ND Mallet -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 12:31:37)

@Andy As long as AE makes profit, everyone gets the same pay. Of course they'll lose money if no one buys for a year straight since they won't make profit.

DeathGuard -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 12:40:36)

Release haven't go live yet, so lets wait and then criticize? We're just wasting our time without seeing the real release on.

I would like that all the armors look the same, but when equipped by a different class, stats should change, recently most of the armors give strength tech and support, wich are things I dont use, I would like an armor that gives Dex and Support or Dex and Tech. Also an issue I would like to discuss, they are implementing so much strength requirements in mage's weapons, many mages don't even use that stat and have to met the requirements for it. Can the balance team please stop putting strength requirements on that weapons, they are way useless the strength for most mages, and it ruins sometimes the abusing of dex/tech to use caster skills.

Lycus -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 12:44:20)

@Den: Either you didn't read all of what I said, or you completely misunderstood it. I didn't once say anything about quitting the game or anything of the sort, and I have no idea where you got that out of what I said to be honest. My point is that Artix Entertainments, is one of the most generous companies you'll find. Saying they are greedy and they just want money shows that you have either not been part of the AE community for long, or you've just ignored every charity event, any free give aways etc.
If the company were just in it for the money, why would they just give large amounts of money away? That's like saying Bill Gates is only in the business for money, yet he gives millions upon millions away to charities, which kind of proves that it's not. This is just on a smaller scale of course. The game is not just in it for the money, it's your choice if you pay or not. Of course, there are benefits for paying, but this is natural, there has to be benefits for paying. The other thing is that the game could easily be P2P (pay to play), which means no free players could play at all. What EpicDuel and other AE Games do is allow you to play and enjoy the majority of the game for free, then you have the option to enjoy it more, and add to the experience by paying. Complaining about it costing too much is like me buying Elite on Modern Warfare 3, then complaining I had to pay, and have to keep paying, when I could play it for free. We add this content for you to enjoy, you can put as much as you want in to it, and that's true for everyone who plays it. We are very grateful to those who pay, and we show that by giving additional perks for it, but we can't give too many perks to make it unfair to those who can't pay.
With the majority of content, including this war, we don't say 'this is how it's going to be, it will stay this way', we've always said things are likely to be changed next release if there are problems. When we've alerted you to that, you then have the choice to use all your Varium this week, or save it for the next release just in-case, and just NPC it until then. That's my point.

frogbones -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 12:45:12)

I'd simply love an armor with only dex and tech.

EDIT @ above: Stop bringing the other AE games into this! They have nothing to do with it. We're talking ED here, so quit with the apples to oranges comparison.

What a copout. You do realize how incompetent that makes ED sound, right? How about, for once, getting it right the first time?

"If there are problems?" Nice choice of words. Problems? No.

Mistakes, oversights, overpricing? Yes.

Dendavex -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 12:58:15)

@Lycus I read what you said
I just don't believe it
If you donate to charity why not advertise it
Otherwise your just hiding the fact the Artix Entertainment is just to greedy [:(]

I take it this will be the excuse used when General ends up being easily obtainable also. Basically saying screw you Manthong, Mokta 3, Smackie el frog, African Warrior, Dr Ivo Robotnik, and Goony.

Those are the ones I can think of atm that have supported the war the most so far and we were under the impression this was how it was. You can't just change everything mid flow and if it is changed, we should be entitled to something because of it. We have supported you very generously and are being told,

"Oh sorry bout that, were unable to do it right the first time so therefore, you will pay for it."

Well I for one will NEVER support this game again if that's how this goes down. Note that I do understand were only going off assumptions atm and we don't know what the release will be like until it is released, but going off what we've been told so far, it sounds pretty bad for us and I only wish to be heard over these children crying equal rights between f2p's and p2p's.

DeathGuard -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 13:03:22)

@Lord Nub: Captain Notorious was in 2nd place in Legion leaderboard with 90k war points, he was in 1st place before but African passed him out. He has support the game a lot in this war too.

Lycus -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 13:08:29)

Who said the amount needed for General was going to change? I can assure you now that it won't be, the only changes being made to the ranks, is three new ones too fill in gaps, which is in the best interest of everyone. They won't make anything harder or easier, General is staying at the same amount of points as it was before.

Edit: And anyone of the above who makes it to General will certainly, even with the missions etc, be one of very very few to get it.

IsaiahtheMage -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 13:21:55)

I have a small question how many war points does it take to reach the highest ranking, General? I heard it cost 400,000 War Points. and if so that means you would have to kill 20,000 Yeti Hulks/Fenrises plus the amount it took to gain the previous high war points. Meaning in the end it might cost about 1,000,000 War Points in total meaning about 50,000 Yet Hulks/Fenrises to kill!

Practel -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 13:36:49)

Like Lycus said,
The devs, Titan, Nightwraith, Hudelf, and Charfade have a SET paycheck. If ED makes $300 in a week, or $1 in a week (Metaphorically) no matter what they will have a set paycheck.
So to all of you who are saying: "Titan and nw just want our money, all they want is our money" well it's false. All money that is spent on AE is being fueled back into the servers, game, and charities. This is a statement ARTIX has made plenty of times! 10 free inventory spaces to EVERY player = 1k FREE VARIUM basically. Thats basically $5 free for EVERY PLAYER IN THE GAME!

You can say "W/E Practel ur lieing to me I hatez EpicDuel y r titan and wraithnight liezing to mez?!?!?!!"

Prices arn't determined by Titan and Nightwraith, that is an executive decision.

~Practel

Good to hear, lets hope it actually turns out this way.

@Death,

I was only naming the ones above 200k. Not sure where Goony stands exactly but I do know he is leading Exile and if isn't at 200k he's close for sure.

@Isaiah,

There are 9 ranks,

It's 100k for rank 5, 150k for 6, 400k for 7.

You mean those with deep pockets right?

quote:

Thats basically $5 free for EVERY PLAYER IN THE GAME!

And with that 5$ you can buy MAYBE 1 varium non enhanced weapon...

Santa ClawZz -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 13:40:58)

It's 50k for rank 5.

Dendavex -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 13:41:11)

@Practel

ND Mallet -> RE: =ED= EpicDuel DNs December 19th 2011 (12/21/2011 13:42:59)
