Base = Minimum damage the spell (Or weapon) will deal before stats and other effects come into play. Random = The number the server can roll up to, starting from 0, which is added onto the Base number to decide how much damage the hit will deal. The server does the roll invisibly, every time you attempt to hit the enemy with any spell or, well, any attack in general. Eg. If the base is 10 and the random is 40, you could deal anywhere from 10 damage (10 + 0) to 50 damage (10 + 40) Other effects, such as Misc. items, stats and armour bonuses (Such as the Golden Plate's new MC effect) are counted after the B/R/S listed here. Let's say a Misc Item boosts the Base and Random of your spells by 10% and use the example I gave just a second ago. The spell's new Base would become 11 and the new Random would become 44, meaning the spell could deal anywhere between 11 and 55 damage.
