Croncler -> RE: RE or Not: Animations or Change (6/2/2012 12:00:41)

First there is no such thing as stupid suggestions :) all suggestions are valid just some work others don't for one reason or another. Secondly no one ignores anything, there's always someone that will have an answer to give you! :D
That being said here's my answer:
Our forum has 3 skins you can choose from which will change the colors of your forums Dark, Blue and GoldRed. You can change them on your Profile page currently there's only those three, if there are any plans to add more I have no idea whatsoever. From what I understood in your post (and sorry if I miss read it) you also talk about adding new Avatars also known as profile pictures? Well that's a very common topic. Avatars in the Battleon Forums for regular members are only those that the AE Forum staff has selected in the Avatar Gallery, the right to have your own personal Avatar falls to some specific Forum Groups of outstanding members of the forums, selected by Staff. Having your own Avatar in this forum is a privileged.
And lastly the changing of the Banner (the top picture on the forums) you will notice that the banner changes as you move to game forums specifying the game forum you are currently in example: the Dragonfable Forum as a DragonFable Banner and so on. Though it would make the forum more interactive I think (my personal opinion) at this moment there are other things that could be improved before getting to the looks themselves.

Since you are new to the forums I'll give you this link What is a forum: A Newbie Guide to Understanding Forums it's a bit long I know but it has some information on how to walk about in the forums and some good links you should pay attention to.
Keep the creativity and ideas rolling and remember every suggestion is a valid suggestion! ;)

I would like to add on what Croncler said, if you do not like the forum skins the forum provides you can make your own:

quote:

Our staff is hard at work on other features, but you can make some for yourself.
To submit a skin for general use on the forums, please email the completed stylesheet to one of the administrators found here:
AE Staff and Staff Assistants List

ORIGINAL: Captain Rhubarb

Our forum doesn't actually use any fancy code for the color skins.
It just uses these stylesheets:

http://forums2.battleon.com/f/blue.css
http://forums2.battleon.com/f/dark.css

You're all welcome to download these files, and experiment.
There's usually a browser setting where you can override style settings using a local CSS file to test with the live forum web site.

Let me know via PM if you come up with anything.
It was tricky to make sure that the buttons looked good though with different background colors.

A tip from aNyThInG, if you're using FireFox:

Users can install this and they may edit the CSS code easily...Visit the webpage for more info. ALSO the good thing about it is that, users can create their own skin and they just save it on their computer. It does not affect anyone else. Since many people complain that this forum doesnt have many skins, they can just use that and customize themselves.

Taken from: =AE= Frequent Asked Questions

So again if you do not like the skins, make your own and make it the way you like it :)

Stylish is an Add-On that lets you apply CSS files.

The AEF can use CSS3 coding. You can monkey around with it and see what you've come up with.

Or you can even borrow the one I made via Stylish.
