Childish Gambino -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/20/2012 10:47:16)

how about a mega man mech?

bugattiboy91 -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/20/2012 11:36:27)

I think SCEM sounds good to me. You can actually pronounce the acronym as a word now.

As for the art of it. Doesn't matter me to because I'll still buy because I've bought every single other SCMM.

Drask -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/20/2012 12:54:20)

SCEM = Star Captain EXTREME Mecha...

zekefreed777 -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/20/2012 17:12:56)

I like the mega man mech concept as well, a good example would be something like this

If something like this would make it in game, it'd be pretty sweet :D [/megaman fan mode]

The Gilded DragonSlayer -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/20/2012 17:32:46)

Something resembling robotic Raiden from MGS, or at least similar in traits - a robotic ninja shogun with electricity. I would adore that.

ScytheOfShadows -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/20/2012 17:41:43)

Let's just throw away all these suggestions, and have a nice, big dose of ORIGINALITY.

Gamemastersam -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/20/2012 17:44:19)

@^ i completely agree. MQ would never be as awesome as it is witheveryone elses ideas instead of its own

Glais -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/20/2012 17:47:51)

I'm fine with references, just not on SCMMs. They have a unique awesomeness to em.

Well, on specific MOVES references would be cool, but appearancewise I like what the team come up with.
Plus, I just want a MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA ORAORAORA type Punch, Blazing Fists, if you will.

zekefreed777 -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/20/2012 17:57:24)

References can happen anywhere, and everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Most suggestions can be used as a foundation for something unique anyway, regardless of references.

Another idea could be a mecha that tags other mecha for accuracy and fires in the opposite direction and the bullets hit a la Fifth Element...

keng4896 -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/20/2012 23:41:21)

Could be some gigantic mecha with another mecha in it when its armor is deployed. I name it the Star in the Captain Mecha!

Mr. minimum -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/21/2012 2:47:30)

Acronym doesn't really matter to me, but since I am used to SCMM, I guess Mecurial.

My favorite mechas in terms of looks are as follows, in no particular order;

Strider
Dharmap
Psychic Wing
Morehawk
Master Blaster
Cosmic Talon...kinda

I think Cosmic Talon had amazing attack animation but its regular look wasn't great(plus it couldn't be fashionably customized).

Psychic Wing had the best-looking legs a mech has ever had, no contest.

Dharmap has this small part near his Head that shows up on any other Head you equip, and idk if it's a big or not, but I think it looks really good with anything, it's kinda like a scanner thing that Vegeta had on Dragon Ball Z.

Morehawk hovered, and it gave him an almost ominous appearance. Don't overuse it, but don't let it disappear.

Master Blaster was bulky, but he was still able to equip smaller arms w/o looking atrocious. I don't know how you guys did it, but it looked great.

Strider had great shoulders. I noticed you used them on some of the Westion arms as well. These are great shoulders and should be seen more, I feel. In fact, they should replace the generic spiky shoulder that you see with the Cloverblades, Photon Sniper, Glocket, and so forth. But that's just one man's opinion.

Alright, hope that helps.

CardClasher_99 -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/21/2012 8:33:06)

I want to suggest it will look like, ummmmm....Wait, Why not Freedom Gundam :D

poptropicawilliam -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/21/2012 10:36:56)

Food mecha!

Astroking112 -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/21/2012 14:55:57)

I'm fine with whatever acronym, but I do like the sound of Star Captain Mercurial Mecha.

As for looks, I'd like anything that resembles the general "style" of the SCMMs (Look at Falcon and Dharmahp). I would say something with wings, but the Falcon was just rereleased. So what about either a mecha with a bulky torso and legs, or a bulky head and arms. I'd prefer the former, since the latter sounds like the Incredulous Bulk.

Underglare123 -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/21/2012 15:19:27)

Why Not Make A Lets say:

Tank Styled Mechs..

Healer Mechs...(Like Mechs With Healing Abilites)

Or Transformer Mechs (Now This is EPIC.)

Fat Mechs,Toddler Mechs,....

And Name would be SCMM I like this name more.

Megadragonknight -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/21/2012 22:01:54)

I would prefer either the transformer mech like how automorph can change to a vehicle-like when using its body attack or a knight-theme mecha with cape on and having a shield and sword in its front and back arm.

klyd3 -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/22/2012 9:09:12)

A unique mecha which has secondary skills (And buffed look) reserved for those verified.. ie. Verified SC
And origami-themed.

Andodalf -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/22/2012 9:33:08)

i agree with the Tank idea! most SCMM have had a quasi military theme, so a tank seems a good fit for the SCMM.

I think itd be nice if, instead of cool downs, this mech had weps that attacks too different amounts of turns to hit! (like artillery falling down)

All the attacks (cannon attacks) FYI would go through the same barrel, and when there time is up, you see them come back on screen and ht the target!

EA: FA howitzer 49 mil: x+50 to a+ 50 landing= 2 turns and BA Howitzer 25 mil x-a landing 1 turn.

This would apply to BA, FA, body, and head. the shoulder are cusomisable.

as such BA FA body and head CANNOT be changed!

Oh and the body and head would probably have effect attacks. One stun and one Debuff mybe?

Selutu -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/22/2012 9:51:00)

We just had a tank for 4oJ... Do we really need another one?

Just throwing this out there simply because I'm not a fan of vehicle mechas. I prefer humanoid or animal-like mechas.

zekefreed777 -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/22/2012 11:08:35)

How about a monster truck that transforms into a bi-pedal mech? Call it the Rickroller and we're even XD

(this can apply to any other car-based mech as well...)

Glais -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/22/2012 14:32:53)

To whoever suggested a Knight, I think that'd be cool. Not enough Sword...ness.

Plus, then I can sneak in a JoJo reference via Silver Chariot, hnhnhn...

darklordpilien -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/22/2012 14:57:11)

A nanobot themed one (a mecha made up of trillions of nano bots which allows it (the body) to morph into different battle mode that lasts a few turns ie. default (looks like a plain mannequin - nothing special), defense (looks like a tank or castle - takes less damage while dealing less damage (it deals for example 75% while it takes 50% of enemy damage)), offense (looks like a mega cannon - deals more damage while taking more damage (it deals for example 150% while it takes 125% of enemy damage)), and maybe one more for speed (looks like humming bird jet thing - mega dodging) The body does no damage but it has a guaranteed stun ("The enemy is to busy watching you morph to do anything"). While the effects of the default arms, shoulders and head depend on which battle mode the body is in. (Defense mode: Nerfing enemy and head should do some healing; Offense mode: bonus damage and/or better crit rate; Speed mode:). The animation of the default arms, shoulders and head should be projectile based to save some animation time)

so it should be fun for any type of player because it packs in different styles (the overpowered damage nuke maker, the take it slow, and the "Na na na na na na you can't hit me!") in one.

EDIT: SCEM its something you can pronounce as a word and not just "es see ei em" but like "Skem"

Smokaman -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/22/2012 15:24:18)

Personally i'd love to see more mechs inspired by the Shadow scythe war in a bit more realistic way like a construction mech converted for combat by a mining corp under attack or a SDF Mech with off screen artillery and air support to back him up (in the form of Hp DoT and extra shot with effect specials respectively)
Also i want to see more unconventional mechanics like the Rune hawk mana shield or the ammo weapons (here's my idea for example)
A mech with arm and shoulder weapons with no cooldown, instead the arms gain power the longer you charge them by not firing (50% of normal damage which ramps up with 25% per turn not used up to 125%) and the shoulders cause a Dot and Eot that get charged the same way. giving it a strong momentum after the first 2 or 3 turns.

finally (and more realistic) i want to see more revivals and updates to old models like a shadow-scythe E-series reboot with full customization or other more classics updated. perhaps a Golden Hammerhead or SDF golden Delta for the next birthday, we need more SDF stuff.

And I say we call it the Star Captain MORE Mecha Shop or the 'SCMM Shop' for short.

hellblade124 -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/22/2012 16:13:51)

i would love to see a mecha based off DBZ or DBGT

Megadragonknight -> RE: =MQ= Art Style for Next "SCMM" - We Call Them SCEM Now! (7/23/2012 9:39:25)

@Glaisaraus
Er, i was the one who suggested to have a knight-themed mecha for a SCEM but it was balu who posted the picture of some robots in page 2 and when i saw a look alike knight with cape, then i suddenly remembered that i wanted to have a knight mecha with capes, shield and sword. It would be very great and apprecitated to have a knight mecha for the first time ever in MQ but if the SCEM do not have a knight-themed mecha, then i hope that it will at least be a vehicle-like mecha likewise automorph. For the knight-themed mecha, i hope there will be a new planet that will focus on knights.
