The only build that is OP with BM is the strength one. However Str itself is OP so why should a whole class get a nerf because of one str/build that is OP?

I think that blood mage str build is actually the most used build by them they can do more than 50 dmg in 2 turns against the most resistant tank, so yeah they need a nerf.

Bludgeon is not better than berzerker, bludgeon requires a lower amount of energy for do a similar damage and deadly aim can deal more than 40 dmg in rage and is worst with the infernal interdictor.

IŽd suggest to change deadly aim for another passive skill like a limited time deadly aim

It isn't used as much as it was before the fireball nerf. Thanks to that there is different breeds of BM instead of the strength build.

Also nerfing Bludgeon and Deadly aim? No TM also uses these skills and unlike the fireball nerf that remained within the classes nerfing these two kills will hurt TM who aren't overpowered with these moves, and by nerfing these skills you will force more TM to go to the OP caster build just to compete.

Also are you trying to kill the whole class just to get at one build? It is only Str BM that are OP not the class itself. Nerfing skills hurts all classes not just one. So even if you nerfed these moves to weaken str BM you are weakening support, focus, and any other BM build that would use these as well and since str is OP right now str BM would still come out on top within the class.

Nerf strength to a more managable level first then if the moves are still OP then go for it. If you do it before then the original problem is still there.

@mother1 seriously bludgeon itself needs a nerf, it has the lowest energy cost and does more than a max double strike or cheapshot when maxed out. so it would be fair. and trust me strength techmage with bludgeon is deadly. and i know cheap shot can crit and it will do more damage but lets countout the odds its not a guaranteed crit everytime.

@trizz Do not forget that neither Mages can increase the damage of their Bludgeon(Mercs have BC, TLM have FC, CHs have Malf and BHs have smoke) and are locked to one type of damage with it as well as having longer cooldown than Double Strike.

LOL I was actually working on a new passive for BM's, one that is universally acceptable to all builds besides the dominate being strength. My thoughts so far?


Wound:

Passively inflict a wound onto the enemy through the sidearm, allocating a percentage of the guns base damage towards the DoT. The DoT lasts 2 turns.

Level 1: 2%
Level 2: 4%
Level 3: 6%
Level 4: 7%
Level 5: 8%
Level 6: 9%
Level 7: 10%
Level 8: 11%
Level 9: 12%
Level 10: 13%

DoT Calculations for a level 35 damage gun is thus...

1 DOT
2 DoT
3 DoT
3 DoT
3 DoT
4 DoT
4 DoT
4 DoT
5 DoT
5 DoT

This will be 2,4,6,8,10 damage overall. Also, this may seem weak to some people, but remember, it is applicable on ALL sidearms and hits a DoT on EACH gun hit.

Same req as DA.


My problem is that it will be abused.

Str BM op? Not even. They are not even close to as strong as 5 focus BM smoke mass bounty or caster tech mage. I can easily beat them with my support cyber build

If strenth is OP then nerf strength, not skills from a class. This way they will fix all strength builds, not just one

@Raynie,

The one staggering issue with a new passive that is offensive as well as using the Sidearm which is growing in effect with Strength points, is having players place more necessity into attacking and less into being careful or being attacked. Bloodlust classes already emphasize on MOD (maximum outgoing damage) to compromise defence, more of an attraction but also an award to damage others more ultimately gets the greed of people to take advantage of potentially faster wins per battle.

I appreciate the intentions though, I myself would change Deadly Aim.

Guys, I think that it's not because blood mages are overpowered. It's because all blood mages are full varium and pay alot to be the strongest
I personally think that the skill Bludgeon is just too strong.

Exactly what Darkwing said. See above post? Nerf Bludgeon.. TMs also have it yet you don't see them spamming it. My point? Just deal with Strength since Bludgeon uses Strength, BHs use Strength, any other abuser usually uses Strength.

Instead of nerfing bludgeon, how about giving back Berzerker instead? Since there is no energy regen, i think it is actually more balanced because it is less abusable. Also, a nonvar BM can have a chance with a sword since no nonvar staff is good enough to try a fireball (str) build.

Assimilate BM already had but back then they said it was worthless so they replaced it. Plus if they brought it back now Str builds would be even more OP since they would have the power to not only gain health back, but to also gain energy back and and wreak builds.

As for poison no. I see str TLM use this to weaken their opponents while dealing heavy Damage to their opponents. Do you want to see this happen with Str BM as well?

IMO Blood mages do need a nerf...IMO it's because of Bloodlust&Deadly Aim. Since ppl think BH and BM are a bit over the OPed line, it'd be nice to simply nerf Blood Lust.

That would leave the original problem still there. While they will gain less health back the attacks that they use will still hurt the same as before. Also by doing this as I said before you will be weakening every other build trying to get at one. The same build will tower over all the others, and all you will have succeeded at doing is killing the other builds that use this more and possibly push them to the strength build.

Hmm thought I only said a nerf in Blood Lust. And BTW, the NERF on Static also encourages STR builds as well! And OF COURSE, players will 'adapt" to balance changes by their best. Then all changes encourages others to spam something else...
