@BK: That's a good question. But I'd like to remind everyone that the mods and AK's also have lives, and we should be considerate about the time they put into the forums. Still, good question.

@Arthur, I don't see any value in a Showcase thread. As opposed to other creative forums, the goal of RP is to work together in a common thread to create a story together. A Showcase would be counter to that goal, as it would lead to comparison and competition. Secondly, most people want to keep their plots and concepts close to the chest, not display them in a public forum. Therefore, I see no merit in having such threads in the RP GD.

@bk 1-7/GoC, The process will take as long as it takes. We have to create these threads and their RP's, just like you would any RP. At the same time, we want the RPA and these threads to be examples of the type of RPing we want to see moving into the RP forums. That takes time, and we want to put the time it deserves into the process, but I can say we are nearing the end. Once everything is in place, things should run pretty quickly, as long as you are following the directions and writing quality bios and posts. The speed of your movement to the RP forums is entirely up to you!

Um, not to sound stupid or anything, but I'm pretty confused about Step Two in the RPA. We are contacting the person above us to create a separate plot line from the OOC Ryu put up? And the person below us has to talk to us to make their own?

So would it be like saying there's a rat infestation and one side quest is to get rid of the rats? And then the person below us would go off of that, like, the rats bit people and made a disease spread that we have to find a cure for?

TJByrum -> RE: New RP Boards Q&A (12/9/2012 11:20:56)

@Superjars: Thanks for the info Super, see you around!

Riffus Maximus -> RE: New RP Boards Q&A (12/9/2012 11:37:23)

Like TD and Ryu told me yesterday on IRC, just start a conversation, ask what your partners intend to do, throw ideas. You know, the typical OOC stuff when you want to start a collab with someone at some point.

aroromonroe -> RE: New RP Boards Q&A (12/9/2012 11:43:50)

Oohhhh! So it's like an IC post then?

TJByrum -> RE: New RP Boards Q&A (12/9/2012 11:45:29)

@Aroro: I think it's more like me, DSM, and you get together, throw in a few ideas, make an OOC, and the mods judge it and tell us if it's good or not. I think.

Legendium -> RE: New RP Boards Q&A (12/9/2012 12:11:29)

@Ghost

So we have to PM each other for ideas, and all together write it all down on the OOC post?

Riffus Maximus -> RE: New RP Boards Q&A (12/9/2012 12:16:33)

I don't think we need to do that via PMs. Just post your ideas for your character on the OOC step board.

But we better just stop speculating and let the mods answer us.

TJByrum -> RE: New RP Boards Q&A (12/9/2012 12:31:38)

Agree Riffus. Your avatar has also gave me the idea of a blind character to use in a roleplay. He can sense things around him, but he can't see.

black knight 1234567 -> RE: New RP Boards Q&A (12/9/2012 12:44:54)

Basically Kenshi from Mortal Kombat? :P
And I don't get it, myself...

TJByrum -> RE: New RP Boards Q&A (12/9/2012 13:24:03)

I don't know much about Mortal Kombat; but for a more interesting character, see my insane plantlife magician in the Bios workshop named A'rok!

Edit: We're getting off-topic, we should hush for now. Sorry.

superjars -> RE: New RP Boards Q&A (12/9/2012 15:22:03)

Correct, the topic of this thread is the new RP boards and what questions they have concerning it. If you have questions about the RPA process, please go to the RPA Q&A thread. You'll find the answers to the currently posted questions there.
