Mysterion. -> Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/4/2012 11:36:09)

OK, i saw this suggestion of being able to Buy a class. But my idea is a bit modified.
Since i am also a player that changes a lot, i find this a very good idea but i do have some rules for it.

It will cost 4000 Varium for 1 class, you will get it 'permanent'.
You can buy max. 3 Classes.
You will have to choose one of the 'main classes'. So you wont be able too switch between BM and TM.
When you want to buy a 4th class, you will have to change with the 'main class'. That will cost 2000 Varium though.
You will be able too switch whenever you want, how much you want, as long as you stay in those current 3.

Example.
I am now a BH.
I buy BH 'permanent' (4000 var)
I buy TLM 'permanent' (4000 var)
and as last BM 'permanent'. (4000 var)

Now i want to be a TM, so that means i have to give up on BM, and costs me 2000 var.
That would cost me in total 14000 varium.

And yes, this should be for Var users only, i think with the new enchancement system Var users wont buy any Var anymore since you can keep the weapons you have now without getting them outdated.
After the first 2 months of Omega, i dont see any point in buying new gear so this would keep me buying Var.

And here some extra info to prevent questions:
- Players will still be able to just change class once. This 'Buying' is only an extra option.
- Other players wont get effected since you only change class and thats already a option, this would only effect the people who change class alot.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/4/2012 11:51:36)

its better than what we currently have.
for that reason, its supported.

PS. if this were implemented, i would probably buy tech mage, BH, and TLM.

BUT, i have a question, what if im perm tech mage and want to be bloodmage?
do i have to pay 2000 varium to have perm BM? or do i have the option of just changing to bloodmage for 900 varium?

Mysterion. -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/4/2012 11:53:23)

Thats in the extra info.

You will always be able to just change your class, this Buying is only a extra option ;)

goldslayer1 -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/4/2012 11:55:06)

@mysterion
woops, misread it. thought it only applied to people who weren't buying perm classes.

SCAR -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/4/2012 13:22:17)

Not Supported.

Mother1 -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/4/2012 13:38:08)

I have to side with scar on this one. It only makes class jumping extremely easily for varium players. So not supported.

Stabilis -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/4/2012 14:46:47)

$20→25 for a class? Too expensive.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/4/2012 15:59:33)

i have to agree with mother1 and scar, because people will just buy potential OP classes and can switch to them anytime.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/4/2012 16:53:01)

with class change being so pricy, and u ARE the "OP" class, would u change to something thats weaker? of course not.
people say that u will be able to class hop to the "OP" class, however there are people out there who like to test builds (like myself)
if the "OP" class was really that worth it, chances are players will switch to it anyway.

this is why im supporting it.

Mother1 -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/4/2012 17:10:13)

@ goldslayer

It was made pricey to discourage class jumping simple as that. Remember how when Str BM was OP? What did the masses do? Either changed their build to a str BM if they were a blood mage but not a strength one? Or change class and became a strength blood mage. Over 50% of the high level mage community were strength blood mages and it cost them 50,000 credits or 900 varium to change class, or 500 credits to change build if they were a BM but not str BM.

Now image if every varium player in their right minds had brought this class previously before it was shown to be OP. Everyone would just jump to it without a second thought and it would have been worse. This idea will destroy the game since people who will buy the OP classes will just jump to them and used the OP builds the class has to offer, and duels won't be any fun since all you will be facing will be (insert OP class build here) all the time.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/4/2012 17:24:59)

@mother1
and this is why my old idea was better. (check Here to see it)

because anyone who changed 100+ times, most likely isn't the type of person who jumps to the OP class/build.
allowing anyone to straight up buy the class will cause class hopping problems, allowing a certain few to do it wont.

and saying no to it because of balance, when the staff have said they balancing the game for omega isn't much basis to go by anyway (IMO)

Stabilis -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/4/2012 17:35:35)

Limit bought class changes by 1→2 month(s). This gives the developers a week to analyze the "overpowered" class, and another week to nerf that "overpoweredness". Therefore punishing the class "hoppers" for 2→5 weeks with a nerfed class depending on how long it takes to switch classes. The option to pay 900 varium or 50000 credits instantly would still be available.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/4/2012 17:43:31)

@void
if u look at the past, the staff are always hindered to balancing problems because of events. like the holidays, valentines, winter holidays, etc.

Mysterion. -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/5/2012 2:29:21)

Mother1.

Of course everyone will jump to the OP build. But they gotta pay 4 times as much to actually buy BM.
And even if there suddenly is a new OP build, they will more likely ony Change too it then actually buy it.

And if suddenly TM becomes OP and they are a BM, they would also more likely Change then Buy.

Buying is way more expensive, thats why it would only be benifitional for Class Jumpers then for OP build jumpers.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/5/2012 2:34:52)

@mysterion
exactly
frequent class changers like myself who class changed a hundred times would benefit more from something like this than OP build jumpers.

Teufel Hunden -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/5/2012 2:39:42)

You see not supported. In the suggestion forum the main idea is to suggest something that the devs might actually consider. Now, in what way would they consider letting you buy a class for one time which allows u to use it forever? it is different wit hairstyles bc they r a little speck on the aspect of the game and the revenue. but class changes bring in a lot of money and var for the staffs therefore making your idea obsolete in their minds. For that reason (not only) but for mostly this reason it is not supported.

~Da Bomb Expert

Ranloth -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/5/2012 2:40:00)

And who says those who change a lot aren't OP build jumpers? <_< >_>

There is high price for changing classes to prevent class jumping - to next "class of the month" - so taking it away (somewhat) and making it purchaseable forever defeats the point of it. THis was said at time of release of change feature, if you need confirmation then you can PM Lycus who takes care of ED Suggestions most often.

tehwutdude -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/13/2012 14:53:19)

Hmm supported but far too expensive.14k var? Give me a break

TNC -> RE: Buy Class (different then the previous one) (12/13/2012 15:02:17)

not supported at all the current class changing system is bad enough little-own giving people the power to constantly change between overpowered classed imo they should bring back the beta class changing the class u pick is the class u stick with
