How about a messaging system. You type in the persons name, type the subject of the letter and simply do what you please!

What You Can Send?
- Credits
- Items (Like weapons, armour, bots... etc -promo's and rares can be sent, as it is your choice to do so)
- Type a message to the person (In case your he/she is not online and you want to give them a message.)

Varuim may not be sent.

Stabilis -> RE: DeltaV- Mail (12/8/2012 9:20:14)

Trade is in the FSI. Also, what stops people from sending hate/troll mail?

The Astral Fury -> RE: DeltaV- Mail (12/8/2012 9:38:20)

What stops them from doing it on the forums, in battle, in game places and through private chats, this is just another form of communication that will help better the game if you recieve hate or troll mail simply report the person as you would if they did something in the game, via battle, private chat, forums and in game places. That was a waste of time as that is common sense as you can still do that now in the game.

Stabilis -> RE: DeltaV- Mail (12/8/2012 10:30:47)

Anonymously, on multiple accounts. It is direct access to the person, comparably in real-life as to TP someone's house.

The Astral Fury -> RE: DeltaV- Mail (12/8/2012 11:53:30)

It wouldn't be anonymous though it would say who the message is from and you would be able to friend, report, recruit option on the player and also an ignore option so they aren't allowed to message you again so you wouldn't be able to get away with something like that. So if someone did that you would simply report them and ignore so they can't send you a message again, also the game monitors what you say and I really doubt you would get alot if not any hate/troll mail and if the rare occasion did hapend just ignore and report them and would it really affect you if someone random guy messaged you saying that your a bad player or something like that? Would it crush you?... No you would report them and continue playing the game. honsetly I highly doubt you'd get hate/troll mail, I don't think this diccussion was rather needed. And multuiple accounts, ignore them and report them it's not hard, or do you have problems about how how immature 8 year old that you don't know tells you something in a game? \

I play lot's of games including Wow which has a messaging system (20 million people player!) And not once have I got hate/troll mail.

Anymore questions?

XapApp -> RE: DeltaV- Mail (12/8/2012 14:53:32)

I'm against sending credits and items.
23 minutes before you created this thread, Shadowsteed created a thread suggesting the same feature.
Link to thread: messages in houses.
So like I said in that thread, if you want to see past discussion about this suggestion;

The Astral Fury -> RE: DeltaV- Mail (12/8/2012 17:32:55)

Why are you against it though, it's not like anyones forcing you to send credits or items, it's soley your choice on what you send, And even I said varuim could be sent you guys would probably be agianst it, why? Again no ones forcing you to it's your choice so I fail to see how you would not like this idea please elborate on why?

This comments are rather bothersome.

Crimson Eagle -> RE: DeltaV- Mail (12/8/2012 18:00:08)

@Dragonman111

Why I don't support the credits and item idea:

1. The player could get hacked, then the hacker transfers all the players good weapons and credits to the hackers account.

2. The player could give their good weapons and/or all their credits to an alt, making them OP for that level! That could make some on the inexperienced players want to leave...

3. You and a friend could constantly transfer weapons back and forth, pretty much "sharing" the account.

Mother1 -> RE: DeltaV- Mail (12/8/2012 18:17:02)

Not supported. The way you have it you might as well make trading legal which in this case isn't for the reasons

Mr. Clean XD has posted.

The Astral Fury -> RE: DeltaV- Mail (12/8/2012 19:28:31)

I see thanks for your input guys but what about just messaging?

Crimson Eagle -> RE: DeltaV- Mail (12/8/2012 19:49:29)

@Dragonman111

Why I don't support just the messaging:

1. Hate mail: people can send you nasty things! (There is a way around the filter you know...)

2. Spamming: Some silly players, can send hundreds of letters to you! They could just be: "adasdhasjdhajksd" over and over!

3. Lag: With this system, hundreds of players would be communicating with each other, this would cause LAG! You would have to send it, then they would receive it, it would bundle up in some sort of inbox, that has lag written all over it!

If you want to talk to your friends, but they are offline. Just ask them to make a forums account, you can talk to them through the PM's! Even if they are offline!
~Cleany

Stabilis -> RE: DeltaV- Mail (12/9/2012 1:43:23)

Err Dragonman if people were creating multiple accounts to spam one person they would not know, and turn off their mail. It would be counter-productive for famous people.

The Astral Fury -> RE: DeltaV- Mail (12/9/2012 9:18:21)

DV- lol why would people go through all that trouble though just to send you hate mail it's a little exccessive to do that lol and WHO would send you hate mail too, also even if someone did would you really care? Also whats the worst they could say you? Lol and famous people I see your point there too many letters. Heres an idea though you can have an option so only freinds can send you mail or the public. That solves the hate mail/lag.

Shift3r -> RE: DeltaV- Mail (12/9/2012 11:03:42)

I support the messaging idea (text-only),it's a great way to expand the community and letting them know each others.

@above posters
Why assuming that this game is full of haters/trolls/10-years-old kids??
There are plenty of other good MMO games that have the mailing system,actually over 90% of them have it.

We can get a messaging system with a limited inbox,or a function that allows the message to be instant-deleted upon reading.

legend tech212 -> RE: DeltaV- Mail (12/9/2012 12:42:13)

Not supported fro reasons below:

1.Hate mail
2.Spamming
3.LAG

The Astral Fury -> RE: DeltaV- Mail (12/9/2012 18:22:15)

Clear Things Up!

Spamming- Wouldn't happend if you changed the setting to "Only recieve mail from freinds" So you'd only get mail from them so you wouldn't be getting ton's of letter from randon people trying to spam you and you can just delete them once you get them so they don't build up in your inbox.

Lag- Again just put the option to freinds only so you can't recieve tons of letters, also you can delete the message once you get it so the inbox won't be flooded with all these letters so it's not laggy.

Hate Mail- Lol AGAIN change the setting to only recieve mail from freinds, I don't think anyone on your freinds list is gonna send you hate or troll mail.

Also the options in mail go as followed. "Public Mail", "friend mail", "faction and freind Mail" the person sending you the letter will also have a bar under their name which has the following options, "Ignore" "Report" Friend" "Achievements" "Buddy" and "Invite to faction".

Ok guys how's this now?

XapApp -> RE: DeltaV- Mail (12/12/2012 3:37:41)

Thought I'd bring this question back to discuss.

Similarly Astral, Xbox uses messaging in every game through the dashboard interface. If you play CoD, Halo, Need for Speed, any multiplayer game, if someone actually takes their time to send you a message, it is because they are self-promoting (advertisements/join the clan), or because you did a crappy job in the last multiplayer game you played on their team and they want you to know it. Hate mail. Why else would people send a random mail?
