ND Mallet -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 1:18:21)

@mother They either did it to increase competitors(not many people actually buy varium, let alone the $50 pack so I wouldn't be surprised if they did this to prevent having less than 100 competitors and ruining the contest aspect of it), to show that they do listen to our feedback and wish to accommodate to more than just the players who can whip out $50 to buy a promo spur of the moment or a combination of the two. Also, the quote saying the tournament was a special offer only for buying the promo is only 2 days old. So unless everyone bought the package in that two day period only because there was no other way to enter then you can't say they can complain. The first quote was worded in a way that implied there would be a way to get the Ticket aside from buying the promo and it's way older than that two day quote so chances are people who bought the promo only for the Ticket bought it while they had knowledge that they could get the Ticket in-game.

Blitzex/Sr. Zeph -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 1:21:19)

@ ND.

It is not about the other stuff in the promo. It is about the fact they first say:
Only available in Pre-Order
And two days later: Also in game

How is that fair in any way for those people who got it only to get a shot for the Goldn Yeti.
Just like Mother1 said, false advertising.

Giras Wolfe -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 1:47:15)

quote:

Some have mentioned that it's not fair to the non-Varium players to restrict this tournament, but the tournament is a special reward for the preorder offer and making it available to everyone would defeat the purpose.

I concede that the way it is worded implies pretty strongly that it's only for preorder, but its far from a promise. There's a distinction between being available to "everyone" would defeat the purpose, and being available to preorders only defeating the purpose. As far as it being a "special reward," that could merely being in reference to the fact that we don't have to buy it.

And you keep complaining about so-called false advertising even though that fateful sentence was uttered probably a week or two after you bought your preorder ticket. When buying a ticket, it is not "advertised" that the golden ticket is only available via pre-order.

I really just think it could've been worded better to avert that expectation, and the ultimate reasoning for offering a few for direct purchase is pretty sound.

quote:

We are doing this to accomodate those who either cannot afford / don't want a preorder but want to participate or were not informed about the event in advance for whatever reason. Also, Omega will be advertised heavily and many will be coming to EpicDuel for the first time ever , and many others will be returning after a long hiatus and it would be good to offer one last chance to get in.

In summary, there was no solid, direct promise that exclusively pre-orderers would receive the ticket. In fact the original Dec. 20 release DN seemed to imply the exact opposite, that there absolutely would be golden tickets available after the pre-order.
quote:

When you buy this package you will receive a ticket that will guarantee you receive the items as soon as Omega officially goes live in January. After Omega goes live, we will split the Obliterator and Onslaughter into 2 separate packages as planned, but those who preordered will already have it all and be able to participate in the competition without delay!

If the intent was it would be exclusively for pre-orderers, why use the word already?

Really people, why do we have to gripe about every single decision the devs make? Why can't we think of players in a different situation then us? A lot of players already have as much varium as they want and wouldn't pay $50 just to be allowed to enter the tournament. Also like Titan says, there are old-timers returning from long time hiatuses who should have a chance to get in.

It has not been advertised as exclusively preorder, we were not promised that in any way, and the statement in question clearly did not have that intended meaning.

Blitzex/Sr. Zeph -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 2:26:22)

Actually they did :s.
I cant give you a quote right now (on my mobile) but they specifically said it was a special reward for those who pre-ordered.

I sugges you to read the DNs better as you lack of information.
The DNs of 20 dec said nothing about specially for pre-orders, but the DNs of 7 or 8 januari did.

This is the quote form Jan 7th. Giras above you has also posted it.
It is confusing indeed.
But they used to twist words in the past too.
I can already hear them say - yes we said it is a special reward for the preorder, but we never said it was only for the preorder blah blah.
Nothing new here.

Giras Wolfe -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 2:34:39)

Yes, I have read the Design Notes. You may notice I quoted them three times in my last post.

Here is another statement you might be referring to:

quote:

Second, we will not be offering the Omega Ticket with a promotional package after Omega is live.

The key phrase here is "with a promotional package."

If there's something still written in the DN I missed, please do post it. But I think I've addressed the relevant statements from the 7th and 9th announcements.

I don't think these things have been stated in a way to hide the fact that it was going to be available after pre-order, but rather dealing with technicalities like nonvarium players and people who buy a package after omega is live. The possibility of the ticket being available for varium purchase is assumed. Again, the way it is stated in the Dec 20th design notes clearly implies that it would be available for purchase with varium after omega is released.

If the tournament was intended for pre-orderers only that would have been very loudly and emphatically announced and advertised.

the final hour -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 3:07:15)

in responce to the people saying this is unfair bad business practice false advertising speaking as some1 who has been here from beta this is nothing new .

- complete lack of balance ( this is the only one of i have a tiny bit of symphathy for since it isnt as simple to just fix )
- constant delays
-staff let downs
-misselling
-ripping people off
-loosing players at every release
- what they did to the founders and elites is a prime example ( if people dont know what they did to founders and elites before the merger with AE they promised everyone that bought into the package they would have unlimited varium so loads of people bought in didnt last long ) good business practice at its finest.

theese are things that are not new and i cannot see changing until they loose that many players it will be too late to do anything abt it

Remorse -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 3:52:39)

How about they make it a silver ticket and rather then 2 Weeks they only get one week.

Blitzex/Sr. Zeph -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 4:21:00)

^ A Big Yes.
But still only the remaining tickets, not make new silver ones.
Change te remaining golds in silver tickets.

Hun Kingq -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 4:54:55)

Some have mentioned that it's not fair to the non-Varium players to restrict this tournament, but the tournament is a special reward for the preorder offer and making it available to everyone would defeat the purpose.

So making it available in-game is making it available to everyone thus defeating the purpose.

zion -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 5:43:32)

They should release 50 tickets for 1k-2k Varium. No more than that, this way @ least half will go to promo buyers.

Stabilis -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 7:48:02)

I bought the preorder for the weapons and yetis so wahahahaha!

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 7:56:37)

can we end this already? i mean the devs have changes their mind many times during our wait for omega, who knows when next time they have a team meeting, their minds will be changed again, there isn't much proof of that the golden tickets will be sold for credits or varium only, nor that there is enough evidence of how many tickets will be implemented ingame.
i say we wait till omega and see what happens, instead of speculating what will happen or what is good and bad for those that own the golden tickets.

gangster a -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 8:02:45)

^ hear hear

Blitzex/Sr. Zeph -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 8:15:23)

Trizz.
I know youre well known by the staff members but you dont really see where this is about.

They promised us something, and then take it away.
This is unforgivable in my opinion, when you promise something, you cannot take it back. No matter what happens in the meantime.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 8:19:16)

@above im sure they have their reasons, lack of tickets purchased will most likely be the reason, i mean if there is only 96(random number) who bought the package, it wouldn't be much of a challenge wouldn't it? i can just fight 1 battle and take a few days off, when the competition ends i will have a golden yeti in my inventory regardless of my lack of efforts.

i would feel this way too but im not getting the package, if a ridiculous amount of people bought the package, then im sure they will not think of implementing it ingame, so if you want this to be fair for the people who bought the package, i say lets tell more people to get it.

Blitzex/Sr. Zeph -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 8:23:40)

@ Above.

Then they shouldnt have promised us that 2 days ago.

If that is the reason, they would have saw that 2 days ago already, and yet they promised us.
I agree that it then isnt a challenge, but they should have known that 2 days earlier, and not immediatly promise us something.
In 2 days, something like that cannot change so big they change it.

l Chop Suey l -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 8:27:19)

@TRizZzCENTRINO I agree the devs are going around in circles in terms of releasing Omega but then again if the tickets are going to be in-game it defintely has to be varium. The only reason I would buy the preorder the 10k package would be the 2 in 1 deal so the ticket would also count in for the tournament. It's like the gold jugg card where people just test out the tournament and then later people will get the cheevo but thats just my assumption.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 8:28:40)

@sr. zeph maybe they didn't have the time to check it 2 days ago, maybe because we are so desperate for new design notes, they forgot to check it, i don't think its any of their fault but ours. im not defending them but i am often in contact with them, they have been very busy in the past few days.

omega must be very close to releasing if they decided that there isn't much time to wait for more people to get the package, so they had to use a plan B to make the tournament more of a challenge.

@above remember artix is behind the DEV's back, so they have to do something that's gonna increase or maintain their profit.

Blitzex/Sr. Zeph -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 8:41:48)

@ Above

They already delayed the tournament itself, that means they have not sold enough tickets.
But that is no reason to screw all the people who already have the ticket.

If they failed to get a good profit they simply cant screw the people who already did buy it.
If the tournament has to less people, let it be like that because obviously the rest didnt care much about getting the yeti because they didnt bought the ticket.
So why should you now give them the chance? A reward for the people who didnt want to do something for it?
Sounds fair to me :\

ReinXI -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 8:48:16)

@ above exactly if people wanted the golden yeti then there you go buy the promo if not? well sucks for you it's a perk of buying the promo.
I want the golden yeti badly ( 1 because I'm a collector and 2 because it's a yeti probably one of my favorite bots.. and it's gold ) so yes I'm quite irritated
that all of a sudden my chances of obtaining the yeti are going to go down due to somebody buying the ticket in game and it being those players that
"stay up all day" ( liars >> ) to get the 1v1 champs and such only because they didn't want to buy the promo in the first place. not exactly fair is it?
if there's less than 100 players sure everyone would get the yeti but there would still be an achievment to shoot for.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 9:06:14)

@Blitzex/Sr. Zeph they delayed the tournament because people need time to adjust and adapt to the new change, i suggest you read the design notes more clearly.

@above im sure they will not implement 50-100+ tickets, as i said before, there is nothing to worry about, changes are always needed, so lets wait and see what happens when omega actually releases.

Stabilis -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 9:44:50)

How much do you guys estimate the ticket will cost?

(must be a value lower than 10000 varium, and no, 9999 is not an OK number)

Nexus... -> RE: Good and Bad news for Ticket Owners (1/10/2013 10:20:15)

The ticket will not be credits, I can promise you that. Non-Vars are getting a HUGE update, the biggest they have ever received. I find it funny that they would call Varium users selfish, when it is them who are asking too much with something like this.

As for all of you complaining about how you "only bought the promo because of the ticket"

You deserve to feel bad right now, you really do. Who spends 50 bucks on a ticket, when they NEVER said it would be promo exclusive. I knew this thing would be in game from the start, its why I didn't buy the promo...I'm not that du*b. I mean seriously, its just funny how many of you ASSUMED it would be promo exclusive, and so you payed 50 bucks for it. Serves you right.

lmao

@Blitzex/Sr. Zeph

They promised that YOU would get a golden YETI TICKET for buying the promo. THEY NEVER said it would be promo exclusive. THEY FULFILLED their promise as long as you bought the promo and now have the ticket...so please be quiet. Silence!

Prophet
