Angels Holocaust -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 9:02:02)

Awwww man, I thought that we were going to have diversity in Omega. It's sounding more complex and unreasonable each second.

comicalbike -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 9:29:05)

Angels Holocaust i agree with you its not what i had hoped for

zion -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 10:04:04)

Sounds like much more diversity and much harder for build copying = better.

It would be great if skill cores were buy-able/swap-able, with a separate core inventory.

Smackie El Frog -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 10:14:58)

@Zion well duh that would be great. But then they cannot cash in each time you want to change things on your equips.

I really hope this is a slap in the face to anyone that wanted enhancements removed. Sure they were OP when they added them to other items. But you only had to pay ONCE to have that weapon battle ready. Now looks like you will have to pay time and time again when they release some all mighty skill core which will probably get replaced in a week or 2 after it comes out!

Let's all just hope they let us have a skill core pool in our inventory come omega and oh yeah that they cost less than enhancements but I doubt that. My guess is skill cores will cost 4-5 figures for credits and 3-4 figures for varium. So over all enhancements might be cheaper than what is to come.

Aint that a kick in the butt to some people!

the final hour -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 10:31:36)

^ above not rlly a kick to anyone since with unlimited npc farming all the dedicated players will have to do is farm till they can get their cores then enter the pvp world when their virtually in par even with the guys that have varium and have purchased the promos the gap will still be afr narrower then delta . and they will be able to just farm npcs till they can afford to get them selves virtually on par with the variums . so the variums get no free wins with the faster core upgrade varium gives them , the none vars can almost get on even footing , the vars get it faster . none vars can avoid dying thro unfair fites by npcing till they get their cores and make it mre even .

everyone wins . in theory

Smackie El Frog -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 10:45:51)

That's if the best cores get both a varium and credit version. What happens if they don't? Then it's a kick to the teeth[:D]

zion -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 10:49:39)

There will be varium-only skill cores - you can bank on that!

@S.E. Frog I think it was Goony who said they are planning on making the cores cheaper than enhancements. Its up to the devs to release balanced cores - so new ones are different, not more powerful. Although, I believe the varium-only ones will be different and (slightly) more powerful...

Smackie El Frog -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 11:00:09)

Sure cores may cost less than enhancements the first time. But then you add a different skill core and suddenly its more expensive. Also don't forget each item gets 2 skill cores. That add's up pretty fast. If they are 5k credits each that's 40k credits for, primary, sidearm, aux and armor. And it looks like bots will have changeable skill cores eventually so that's another 10k credits. So we are at 50k Credits for just setting them up with skill cores.

That is going to get pretty pricey very quickly.

Calogero -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 11:19:08)

That could be solved if the Devs are willing to look beyond the money and make cores a 1 time payment...

For instance with an expansion of the Inventory that includes Cores

Never gonna happen though xD

SouL Prisoner -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 11:32:38)

Perfect name given, core, should have been hard core and u guys r forgetting, to change ur weapon stats u gotta pay, it's like pay for changing ur enhancements now ...

Xendran -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 11:43:05)

Yeah, you have to pay a miniscule amount of credits. Oh no.

Smackie El Frog -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 12:03:12)

Miniscule? 100 credits is miniscule. 50,000 is not. I have no issues with credit costs or varium costs. I am one of the guys with frysteland war general remember? So whatever it costs I will deal. But for the many players that cannot there will be issues.

And xendran what if the cost isn't 5k credits for a top level skill core? What if it is 10k? or 15k? Is 100k miniscule to you? what about 150k?

Also if costs aren't a big concern to you, why don't you pay me back my $10 I loaned you to buy that George Lowe armor back in the day? You promised you would pay me back right away? It's been almost 2 years buddy.

Xendran -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 12:14:26)

My response was to soul prisoner about weapon retraining, which is very cheap. I have no knowledge of skill core prices, and i'm pretty sure they're still being worked on by rabble.

And i forgot that i was supposed to pay you back for that, i actually totally forgot about the whole thing... PM me a paypal email and ill transfer the money to you this afternoon.

comicalbike -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 12:16:14)

we have to pay there wages so the costs will be very high

As a developer what would you choose:

High cost skill cores, low amounts of purchases. People will stick with the same few skill cores and item sets in order to buy as few as possible.
Low cost skill cores, high amounts of purchases, impulse buys, players constantly buying more to try out new builds and widening options.

Smackie El Frog -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 12:20:48)

Xendran next time maybe quote the guy you are talking to or use the @Name. Not like you are new to the forums or anything with you being a long time player/poster.

But about the 10$ just go on heromart and buy a gift code and pm it to me. I am not giving you any of my paypal info.

Oh and don't forget to tack on 2 years worth of interest if you are serious about paying me back.

SouL Prisoner -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 12:24:56)

@xendran 100? R u sure , let's assume 100 as u said, now , 100 for gun, aux , armor , primary and 500 for ur retrain , let's round it, 1k for every retain u do, and unlucky if it's unsatisfying or not working, then there goes 1k more, and btw 100 u said , in the pic its given 250, that would make it 1.5 k :)

Ops, my bad it's 2k

@ smexy. Errr.. If u have extra code, u can always PM Me :P

Xendran -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 12:30:30)

@SOuL: I didn't say 100, i have no idea where you're getting that from.
@Smackie: 2 years of interest on $10 is essentially nothing.

Smackie El Frog -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 12:33:04)

@Xen Depends on who you get a loan from. I'm not a bank ya know. Maybe I have loan shark interest rates?[;)]

SouL Prisoner -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 12:36:06)

Well if ur saying 1k as Miniscule, then u must be pretty rich , small amount means 100 credits u can assume 1k or 2k , I know u did not mention about the credit, but if u did,how much would it be??

Oba -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 12:36:44)

I get more and more astonished by each of these progress/detail posts... First I was looking forward to the release and planned to become more active once its live, now? Feels like it just will get worse...

The Incredible Hulk -> RE: =ED= Titan Core - Jan. 16, 2013 (1/17/2013 12:39:07)

@Xendran

Out of topic:

You seriously must beg for varium Xendran when you don't even repay someone back.

And don't even say you have no idea or '2 years of interest on $10 is essentially nothing' or any other intellectual excuses.

In topic:

I hope I can get rid of my passive skill for mecha laser and get an active

I have no knowledge of skill cores so i'm not going to comment on them right now.
250 credits to retrain an item is a very small amount that can be obtained in just a few battles. Mess up your build and need to retrain a weapon, but have zero credits? Well im sure your build is capable of killing 250 credits worth of npcs. If not, have a partner carry you in a few 2v2 battles.

I give people things without asking for payment back quite often, forgetting about something like $10 happens quite frequently both ways.
Also, i AM paying him back now that i realized that i forgot about it, and he wants payment.

This does not explain why that fee is needed, even as small as it is.

Currency sink for capped players, as they are the ones who will be using this feature the most, by a mile.
