Character Building

Hey there, EpicDuelists, we're having another late night at the lab and I though I'd take a breather to share the progress of the character creator and new base class armors. I could drone on and on about the process, but I'll let the work speak for itself.

To answer a question about the new base armor designs -- these new designs will work like the current default armors in that they're not technically armors that you can equip / unequip. They will not be a mutating armor and it will not take up any space in your inventory. They can be hidden by equipping an actual armor.

Any chance we could have a button to show/hide equipped armors? That merc armor looks better than some of the high level armors.

@above thats what i said to nightwraith, all the high/low level armors cannot compare to this.

The artwork is probably one of the main reasons I play this game. I'd only put it under the close-knit player driven community and competitive atmosphere for what I like about the game.

@above uh no there won't be much news on balance because, they will monitor the balance for the first few weeks of omega to see what needs to be nerfed or buffed.

Well i'll be setting my free time on other things than ED . I just hope that they won't make the stats - and HP - too obsolete .

But anyways , on to the topic ( again )

I actually like the Merc's up-close-and-personal info and look than the others . Great job , NW !

not much in this dns to do with the omega stuff just the new looks for the classes maybe next week they will release more hints and stuff

New art is part of the overhaul in Omega. Skill cores and weapon customizing (upgrading and such) falls under balance really, and art is crucial part of the game as well. New players will either keep playing or quit, based on their first impression and having poor art can just push them away.

Of course it *may* seem like DNs are lacking but we get them daily. Put all of 'em together and there's pretty much one big one we got once a week. \o/

I wonder. If players liked the look of the base Armor, would they be able to "wear" it instead of our current Armors? For example, I have Bunny Borg equipped but I prefer the base class art. Would I be able to hide Bunny Borg, use base Armor but still get the stats? Basically a "Hide" feature for the Armors.

Once again I would like to please ask if this question would be answered.


Can we or can we not see what out opponents skill cores and robot specials they have equipped in battle??

I apologise if this is off topic but I think I speak for alot of players when I say we need this answered or at least a viable reason as to why it can't be answered.

As I can see the defeult armor is too cool, better than some of wearable armors... so you just raised the level of awesomness of the next armors of Muga'...

They could develop a feature in which you could set your appearance, i.e the basic armor or they could allow basic armor to be able to upgradable, but u still can't unequip it ...

Or just allow you to buy skin of the Base Armor. Would look the same as if you had no Armor but you can upgrade it. :3 Could even give players choice of making it P, E or Hybrid for sake of variety (but once you pick, you cannot change, e.g. going from P to E). :D

You wont see it in duels and travel mode like this. It will be much less spectacular
in the common 2D look from the side like the new TM base armor:

The BH style looks like it is very weak compared to the Merc and TM :p.
If i would start this game i would immediatly think Mercenaries are the best of all haha.

But they should make this armors equipable because that armor of the merc can easily be a high lvl armor in my opinion.

I hope we can or this game will be based on luck and not strategy, anyway hope they tell us about that in the next DN.

Above all, jugg players will have the worst time, total ripp off.

The only advantage juggs get is the enhancements, when they r removed, there is no need to test and wait for reducing the level range .

The best lvl range for lvl 35 would be 26 or 27 in omega, as juggs play defensive, no enhancements, no defense ...

Wait, are you saying that enhancements being removed for all players will consequently make Juggernaut players be less likely to win and lose their 90% win rate within Juggernaut battles? From what I've seen playing on lower-leveled accounts, most Juggernauts easily over-power the other 2 players.

Also, how can you actually say that the only advantage Juggernauts get are enhancements? Are you saying that their level, weapons, skills, high defenses, etc. are not advantages?

@Lycan., What does luck have to do with not knowing what skills your opponents may have? In that case, all battles are luck based and have been since the beginning of beta maybe even longer since weapons have a damage range(13-17, 24-29 etc.)
