Samurai_ED -> Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/18/2013 17:32:54)

I suggest an energy draining move for Blood mage class. It feels sort of empty without it. Just a small one, maybe assimilation or something. In exchange for a different move

Ranloth -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/18/2013 17:57:45)

BMs are fine without one. Assimilate to Strength-based class is bad move since it'd drain EP and get some back, as well as deal damage + Blood Lust on top of it. I'd do everything to get Assimilate in place of Bludgeon maybe but it was taken out before for a reason.

Stabilis -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/18/2013 18:05:56)

Maybe a brand new skill unlike Atom Smasher, Assimilate, or EMP Grenade.

Blaze The Aion Ender -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/18/2013 18:16:54)

I would happily have it exchanged for Bludgeon, as I think that bludgeon is way too powerful for a class with BL
In 3 turns they can use a 40-50+ damage attack 2 times, for the cost of minimum 10 energy, and heal from it
That is far overpowered

VanitySixx -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/18/2013 22:19:10)

I support this ONLY if it replaces either Deadly Aim or Bludgeon. Otherwise it can become overpowered or even underpowered if you take away a certain skill.

Giras Wolfe -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/19/2013 1:51:24)

Every class needs a weakness. A lack of energy draining is a blood mage's. They should not recieve an energy drain skill, they are plenty powerful as is. If you feel naked without energy drain, get a class that specializes in it.

I suggest debuff for TLM it feels sort of empty without it.

They used to have smoke.

rayniedays56 -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/19/2013 6:59:56)

And smoke was too much for them. Lets keep on topic to avoid any AK's or mods *glances around and pants for joy*

Personally? I don't think they NEED it. They would gain EP AND HP from this attack, that is an extra 6 EP max every 4 turns, which would be an extra 12 EP on a typical 12 round battle.

Mother1 -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/19/2013 7:20:05)

Not supported.

Blood mage is health class not an energy class. Plus giving them the power to remove energy in any way would overpower them even more.

Remorse -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/19/2013 7:26:33)

@turkish

TLMs are extremely versatile on almost all respects except for the fact they lack a debuff.

This is why they should not have one because no other classes are close to being as versatile. (Energy regain, passive armour, health regain attack, a sheild to compliment the armour passive, poison amour ignoring attacks, and the biggest one of all a small energy drain complimented with energy regain.)

theholyfighter -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/19/2013 7:34:58)

A BL with decent Def/Resis(about 30) with Deadly Aim and Blood Lust is Oped, I have to say. Too many examples. However, let's see until Omega.

Xendran -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/19/2013 7:42:09)

There will be access to energy drainers outside of the skill tree in omega, so this issue will pretty much sort itself out.

Midnightsoul -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/19/2013 12:20:06)

I really would like bludgeon gone. Seriously, assimilation would make things better.

I think most blood mages would disagree with you.

Remorse -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/19/2013 12:48:39)

I was always expecting Beserk to be replaced with assimilation, then for some reason they decided to give em bludgeon which happens to by just as bad in the STR power department.

I support assimilation to replace bludgeon.

Midnightsoul -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/19/2013 14:58:16)

@Giras

I was a blood mage for 6 months. ._.

Ranloth -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/19/2013 16:37:27)

Assimilation still deals damage, less than Bludgeon, but you destroy one's build and get some EP back as well which can aid you if you prolong the battle (Strength abuse + BL can do wonders on Tanks) so it would be really bad move. BMs had Assimilation before already, it was taken away due to the very reasons.

And this.

Midnightsoul -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/19/2013 17:11:27)

Trans, they took the assimilation out so they can fit in a shield that can cover for defense. Blood mages didn't have any shield for smoke or anything back then so they replaced it. Not because assimilation made any certain build OP.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/19/2013 23:54:43)

@trans @xendran don't forget the frostbite special.

rayniedays56 -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/20/2013 0:49:40)

If it took away Bludgeon? Sure, I like this idea. 6 EP gained at max is nothing. :)

zion -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/20/2013 7:06:40)

Titan said frostbite will be an active core, so equip it for energy drain!

Midnightsoul -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/20/2013 7:41:43)

^So if I go BM, what if I don't want frostbite? It'd only be fair if there was...

I say replacing would great...

Ranloth -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/20/2013 11:17:11)

Then wait for a core with similar effect? All classes but TLM don't have skill that regains HP on hit (like Assimilate), cores can fix it. Same with some kind of debuff for TLMs, they may take advantage of cores if there will be one working like a debuff.

Strategy is the key. You sacrifice one for the other.

zion -> RE: Energy draining move for Blood mage. (1/20/2013 11:38:49)

@Trans

Most people still don't realize that the cores are going to be vital (and how the variums will still have a distinct advantage).

IMO cores will define the build - sorta like how crazy tanks could abuse the pre-nerf gamma bot - they were turned into a build's primary attack.
