@joel close. It's Zone of the Enders 2 it's initials are ZOE. I've never heard of zone of the elders so...
any way I managed to get witch blade to 22-12 hp with my level 12 xmas fiend. improvement from last time

JoelJ1998 -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread LXXXIV - READ THE FIRST POST (2/11/2013 8:54:24)

@unicron uh...typo? last i heard of that game was ages ago so pardon my failure but I really want to see some kind of tournament where you have to go up against monster after monster until the end without stopping

Vagaran -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread LXXXIV - READ THE FIRST POST (2/11/2013 8:57:38)

^ I would looooove a endless tourney were the opponent gets stronger when you progress and the amount of gold and XP you gain in the end is bigger the longer you progressed through the tourney.

JoelJ1998 -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread LXXXIV - READ THE FIRST POST (2/11/2013 9:01:47)

@vagaran that...idea...is...AWESOME!!! an infinite tourney that randomly selects monsters for you to fight!

fighuasss -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread LXXXIV - READ THE FIRST POST (2/11/2013 9:08:53)

And maybe some exclusive rare arena bosses?

Have you ever played Ninja Gaiden? [;)]

Vagaran -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread LXXXIV - READ THE FIRST POST (2/11/2013 9:10:36)

^ Yeah, but ONLY if those bosses are as challenging as WB and FoV.

Oh and to balance the boss decks: Just raise the energy cost, that's all that is needed.

EDIT:

@above

Eh no? But my brother did...

fighuasss -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread LXXXIV - READ THE FIRST POST (2/11/2013 9:11:47)

@vagaran Agreed.

JoelJ1998 -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread LXXXIV - READ THE FIRST POST (2/11/2013 9:12:33)

@fighuasss YES! after like a certain number of wins in a row you get to fight a boss and then after that a number of wins another boss etc but make it like boss 1 is at floor 10 then boss 2 at floor 50 or something make it hard to get to them

fighuasss -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread LXXXIV - READ THE FIRST POST (2/11/2013 9:13:45)

@Joel Let's tweet this to Nulgath :)

Redingard -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread LXXXIV - READ THE FIRST POST (2/11/2013 9:16:09)

Well, while higher energy costs would help, what about after they charge 5 times? Then we'd still die (eventually). I don't know...the bosses just kind of seem like a bad idea if they're supposed to be this difficult.

JoelJ1998 -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread LXXXIV - READ THE FIRST POST (2/11/2013 9:16:22)

my twitter is slow and cant post for some reason tag(?) DearSirJoel

In Ninja Gaiden, regular enemies are on the level of typical bosses. The Oversoul bosses have been a piece of cake. It took me 2 tries against Fiend of Vergil and 6 tries against Witchblade.

No because the bosses almost always use a card every turn, so they end up charging only one energy per turn. One method is to survive the first turn and then proceed to stall for a bit to build up your own energy and gain an advantage in energy.

Not if you are strategic (which is EXACTLY what OS requires e_e)

EDIT:

@Friend18

Nulgath can just give the bosses a charge of 5 energy per turn from the very beginning to make them "challenging".

I'm fine with the way that they are atm. The point of the bosses having cheap attack cards and spamming them the first turn is to have the player use a higher-leveled character. The bosses wouldn't be called bosses if a low-mid level player was able to defeat them.

Personally, I love the bosses the way that they are. This is one of the few times that AE has made a boss right. It should take countless challenges and require you to think and strategize to defeat a boss, not just walk right in without a plan and win on your first try (I'm looking at the Dragonfable/AQW bosses). I'm somewhat annoyed that a lot of players refuse to just strategize beforehand. Bosses are commonly challenging in other games o.O

Riniti -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread LXXXIV - READ THE FIRST POST (2/11/2013 9:28:24)

I am perfectly happy with the bosses. They should be this hard, or harder. That's why they're bosses.

JoelJ1998 -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread LXXXIV - READ THE FIRST POST (2/11/2013 9:29:55)

hey guys remember smudd? he was easy to beat right? though I agree aqw bosses are too simple if you cant solo it just get 2 or 3 people and its done

Vagaran -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread LXXXIV - READ THE FIRST POST (2/11/2013 9:32:02)

I would be perfectly fine with these bosses IF we had Artifacts, stats and elemental resistance to play around with, but as it is right now only very few people have beaten the bosses. If the bosses are this strong most people will definitely just leave after maybe 50 fights without any luck against them. They should be nerfed until Artifacts, stats or e.resistance is out. Just my thought on the case.

EDIT:

@above

I hope you're being sarcastic...SMUDD is pretty challenging.

fighuasss -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread LXXXIV - READ THE FIRST POST (2/11/2013 9:34:07)

Who is SMUDD?

Vagaran -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread LXXXIV - READ THE FIRST POST (2/11/2013 9:34:33)

^ The final boss in DF Chapter 1.

JoelJ1998 -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread LXXXIV - READ THE FIRST POST (2/11/2013 9:35:11)

yea man kathool was pretty easy too a walk in a park
smudd is pretty easy it took me only a few bajillion times to still not beat

That's the way bosses should be. Most players don't have level 15+ characters... Of course they aren't going to win. Why would someone challenge a boss, unless they're at the appropriate level? [8D]

Also, why is everyone expecting to win right away? It takes planning. That's why the monsters are called bosses. I'm very sure that running at a boss repeatedly without a plan in mind, in the hopes of winning, won't get you very far at all.

o.O The game lets you restart from wherever you left off. I was able to beat it at level 40. I basically played through the entire storyline from where I had left off 4 years ago and had no problems. I died twice, which isn't so bad.

Riniti -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread LXXXIV - READ THE FIRST POST (2/11/2013 9:36:49)

Kathool actually was pretty easy for my group... .-.

But the bosses really aren't that bad, we shouldn't be complaining ._.'

I'm sure most people had planned somekind of strategy after 10 times of being defeated but those didn't work well as the boss takes up 40% of the max HP on turn 1. A boss should be beatable by any character type (offensiv and defensiv) not just defensiv ones.
