Frysteland's End
Frysteland Conclusion!

The gauntlet has been thrown: Battle Alydriah's champion, the fearsome Elite Yeti, for the fate of Frysteland! But you won't be able to do it alone! Complete the final quest chain, starting at Rabblefroth, to summon the Shadow of the Endless, a powerful spirit from the Void who can help you expel Alydriah's terror from Frysteland for good! Summoning such power comes at a price, though. Are you prepared for the consequences?

You will need to have completed the previous Frysteland quest chain up to the Summoning Stone to engage in this mission chain. Visit Edgar Boothe or King Alaric (both in Frysteland) to being the Frysteland missions if you haven't done so already. The Yeti training missions are not necessary to complete these new missions.

Concerning Missions

We are in the process of outlining a brand new mission system! We are conducting a lot of in-house playtesting and have determined that our existing mission system is overwhelmingly confusing. It should not take paragraphs of guides and Wiki entries to help even experienced players navagate a chain so all of our existing missions are getting a much needed overhaul. This confusion no doubt leads many to neglect missions altogether, causing them to miss out on plot developments and all the great mission rewards! This new system will soon be revealed and go live within the next few weeks.

Mother of mother of jesus... "New and improved balance"

Yes, please!

Anything about new cores?(Namely dead battery)

Mother1 -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 14:57:35)

Finally the golden yeti tournament is coming to an end. Just a little longer and I can claim my prize. But on another note, balance updates? Oh god please let them actually be balance updates and not fix one thing only to destroy or overpower something else.

^ This.

Yay the Tourney is close to an end...finally I can soon get some break v.v

Hun Kingq -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 15:26:15)

Couple thins about the Tournament that made it unfair

1.There was lack of balance from the start
2. Multiple class had more power than other classes
3. no kind of boosters allowing high energy drain skills to take away too much energy at very low energy cost

They should have made three additional battle modes just for the ticket holders that would have prevented the dummying in 2vs2.

The mission, there was too many too keep track of what was what
Only Frysteland mission should have been active and the trainer missions later.

I have tested all core skills for the armor and did not see any difference I used core skills on one set of armors and the other I left core skill free and did a comparison that is how I know.

The offense core skills helped players more than the defensive core skills.

Blitzex/Sr. Zeph -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 15:29:09)

I dunno but i find it really balanced..

ReinVI -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 15:30:46)

@ Hun Kingq ~ do you have proof that people were using alts to ruin the 2v2's in favor of there tournament position? if not then I would
have to say that's very unlikely... plus you know how much work it would involve to make three more battle modes? it was there first
tournament give them a break... sheesh.. and it's you fault if you didn't make it onto the leaderboards I've been on it since last week
near the beginning and right now I have barely played 10 hours all week it feels like only doing enough fights to stay hovering around 50-60.

Mother1 -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 15:42:02)

@ hun

While I can agree with some of your statements others I don't. Plus anyone who was caught cheating got banned and they lost their chance to win the golden yeti hun which proves cheaters don't win.

Ok hun there are several problems with this one.

1 You want the staff to make 3 seperate battle modes just for people who brought the ticket? Let's say if someone who is level 20 brought the preorder and everyone else is 30+. Guess what hun that person if they wanted to compete in the tourney wouldn't be able to because they wouldn't be able to battle anyone else in the tourney because they are out of his level range. How would that be fair to someone who brought the ticket? Answer it wouldn't hun.

2 Let's say I don't make it in time to get on the first sever where the mass majority of ticket holders are and am forced to go on the second server. I wouldn't be able to compete or would have a hard time finding a battle for the soul purpose that I can only battle ticket holders and they are on the other server which would unfairly make me lose time because I can only battle ticket holders.

All in all hun your idea would have did more harm then good with this tournament

Oh, there was. It stopped now. You can no longer say "BM UP!1!" Almost all the classes are now balanced, save BH and Merc.

Have you tried Jugg lately? BM is awesome at it.

Ranloth -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 16:02:19)

Or.. Hun, your build was poor enough to begin with. I competed fairly well as a BM, don't know how you complained that BMs were underperforming if you're asking to be EMP'd and having BL at Lvl 1. >.>

Anyone know when this is in UK?

Ranloth -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 16:13:15)

EST is 5 hours behind us, Lycan. So 11PM/12AM for us in the UK.

The Incredible Hulk -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 16:23:30)

@Trans

But the last updates were like 12:30am to like 1:30am.

I think its going to be late again

Anyways, why can't they release the new things from tomorrow to next week (Battle Alydriah's champion, the fearsome Elite Yeti, for the fate of Frysteland!) ?

I really need a break.....

Lycan. -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 16:30:52)

HOLY I'M TRAILING BEHIND 100TH BETTER HURRY FOR YETI!

BTW thanks trans

Ranloth -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 16:32:35)

@The Incredible Hulk
What's your point? I was only telling Lycan the time it'd be in UK which is estimated for the release. If it'll be later then Lycan knows when to expect it. >.>

....SKY.... -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 16:47:41)

super-secret prize code ? again? LOL

Hun Kingq -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 16:48:27)

Mother1, They could have made the a server that is used as the tournament server when you can complete mission at the same time. To make sure the players find battles they could have used NPCs to fill the gap and if a player leaves in 2vs2 or 2vs1 at the beginning of battle an NPC is inserted with a good build of the same class that left. It was a tournament for ticket holders not a tournament for the alternate dummy of the ticket holders.

Plus players were basically playing 24/7 so there would have been no problems finding battles.

King Helios, it still is not balanced the I never wrote the Blood Mage is under powered it is the skills that make the class underpowered except for bludgeon so it is the skills not the class.

The Incredible Hulk -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 16:57:34)

@Trans

Wow...I AM FROM THE UK!!! Why does everyone think im from america....

Ranloth -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 17:00:26)

@The Incredible Hulk
With past few releases, I usually played them in the morning thus didn't know when it was released. Could've been that late, we had worse releases. And why? Most players are from US, so that's the assumption most of the time.

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 17:00:45)

@Hun making servers increases cost. Using a locked server would work better for you idea but still it is a better idea to hold the tournament on a normal server as the player concentration is higher. Plus the game blocks same IP's from entering a random match(this was done back in Alpha if you read over the DN's) so to battle an alt you would have to work around that just to fight yourself and even with that you may be your own partner which defeats the point of entering your alt into a 2v2 match to make the other team lose

....SKY.... -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 17:01:00)

Hulk ---> DC comics / Marvel ---> US of A :P

Mother1 -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 17:01:17)

@ hun

Extra servers cost money they can't do that for free hun, Plus the missions well some of them required you to do PVP battles and using NPC to fill the void for the lack of players? Not a good idea since this was abused big time with the infernal war. This would turn the tournament into how can kill the most NPC the fastest since we would not only be limiting the amount of actual players who we can challenge, but making NPC characters punching bags which would have ended even worse then this.

The Incredible Hulk -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 17:08:28)

If all the servers were full (Epic,Exile,Doom,Legion) for a full week, I would think ED will buy a new server ;D.

....SKY.... -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 17:18:59)

^ what are the chances of that happening lol. these days weekends probably maybe end up on the third server if you are lucky. Fourth Server really is dominant and is locked all the time.

Stabilis -> RE: Design Notes, March 7, 2013 - Frysteland's End (3/7/2013 17:23:24)

Did any players put any real attention to Frysteland? I myself forgot about the event/war what so have you.
